Cons:-We rented a cabin for 2 nights, made the mistake of reserving online which added an additional 10% for a 4 minute conversation. $800 for 2 nights seems steep to me considering all of the problems that we had with just the basics, we're not fussy travelers, but it was silly the lack of attention to detail.-No shampoo, body wash, or hand soap in the dispensers. My husband jumped into the shower after a long drive, disappointing to have to towel off, walk to the lodge, talk to customer service, and then wait an hour for housekeeping to come and fill them up. -The lotion was so thick that it was impossible to pump out of the dispenser and it had a lock on it so we couldn't pull out the plunger. That's probably why it wasn't empty well as the others.Full disclosure- I'm not sure that the floor had been vacuumed, it looked pretty rough. I kept my shoes on.-The coffee service had 4 pouches of decaf, 2 of regular for 2 night's lodging. No creamer. We we asked housekeeping and were told that we needed to go back to the reception desk for, more more coffee, just the amount that should have typically been in included in our room fee.-We ordered coffee from the canteen in the lodge in the morning and were told that they had no creamer (of any sort) for the coffee, but oddly not gratis or discounted...Pros--The location is the best. It's beautiful right next to the lake. We had a bison grazing right outside our cabin!-The beds were comfortable and the room was nicely decorated, it had a nice western motif.-The bathroom was clean.-Staying inside the park is a must. On our way out we saw a long line of cars waiting to get in around 10 and that's late October.I suggest looking into renting a rig outside of the park and camping. I'm sure that you can find something that won't put you back $900 for a couple of nights so that you can still stay in the park. Also, note that some of the trailheads do not allow RVs or large rigs, so that might effect your access.

It's a wonderful experience in Yellowstone cabins. They did some renovation and cabin looks awesome and new. The room is clean and comfortable. And we enjoyed the gorgeous view of Yellowstone lake sitting on the wood rocking chair at the front deck of main lodge. Super friendly staff. Have to say you can barely get access to Wifi around this area but it's a good chance to get rid of phone and enjoy the silence and beauty of nature❤️

Don't waste your money. Many things that could go wrong, went wrong. From very rude front desk "welcome", for no reason at all, to old and smelly cabin with broken heat and other issues. Didn't sleep for a minute, as it was freezing. The staff didn't seem to care, except for a very nice young man at check-out, Noah. And, if you are hoping for a meal at the restaurant, all they served was burgers. The price quoted was over $60 less than we were charged. And, when we called to give feedback, the Xanterra agent was so amped up that she couldn't even hear our concerns. Really, just stay outside of the park, at a nicer place for better rate, and drive in.

The cheapest option in the Yellowstone lake area! ONLY at $300 Plus a night! The rooms at the Yellowstone Lake Hotel without the lake view is at $500 plus a night and $700 plus a night with the lake view!It is quite and very nice and comfortable cabin that you can park your vehicle in front of your cabin!Water is hot and room is warm and clean! We will stay here and if we visit Yellowstone again!Noteworthy details: Cheapest in the area!

Great location. Centrally located to all major attractions. Rooms were clean, staff was friendly, and the cantina was reasonably priced and delicious. One down side other than the cabin begin small is the beds are not true full sizes, not enough hanging space for clothes, and hot water is iffy. With that being said they are completely remodeling the cabins. We did get to see in one while there. Room size does not change but they are definitely more modern. In the pics of this review are the pics of the cabin we stayed in D9.

I have to say that I was impressed with Lake Lodge Cabins, few things that you know if you are going to Yellowstone.1- Lake Lodge is in the middle of the park and for me it was perfect location, easy to travel. The Yellowstone is huge and with that location the drive not so bad.2- the rooms looks so much better than the website. Nice clean and big. The most important, very hot water for a shower.3- you don’t have cellular service, but in the lobby with WiFi and usually everyone finish the day over there.4- the restaurant over there it’s really bad, but you can travel to eat something outside.5- and the best part the view is amazing, and you have so many animals around you wake up with them and go to sleep with them.I definitely recommend this location .Rooms: The rooms is perfect, you have hot water to enjoy the shower, and the room is big and clean.Safety: Feel very safe , and you park your car, of the room.Food & drinks: You should bring food with you, the restaurant over there doesn’t have a lot of options. And the food is not great.

We stayed one night here and it was great! The cabin rooms are comfortable and well furnished. The lodge is very cool and there are many places to relax with lots of comfy leather couches and chairs. The front porch has an amazing view over the lake. There is only very limited wifi in the lodge so plan on non-tech based activities.Rooms: Comfortable and rustic.Nearby activities: Hikes

Food is TERRIBLE!Location is amazing and cabin is great for the price, views, etc. I've been eating at the Lake Lodge dining hall for over 10 years consistently. It's been a cafeteria style, not bad, descent selections. Now it's Wylie's Canteen that literally only burgers. Warmed up burgers on dried out buns. No fresh food available for multiple days. I would be embarrassed to as were some of the employees, to explain their menu of ... only burgers.I am in shock that Xanterra (contractor that provides the service to the park) thinks this is acceptable.

Besides the good location, I cannot recommend this lodge at all…overpriced cabin rooms for totally outdated interior and spiderwebs in the dirty and cracked lampshades. Door in the bathroom does not shut - and all this for 387.97 USD per Night. But what tops it all is the food in Whiley‘s Canteen - try to order an avocado bison burger but they did not have any Bison or Avocado, try to order a Milkshake and the machine is broken. The Food is so bad - the Chili looked and tasted like dogfood.Plastic Silverware, no plates, everything packed in plastic….french fries all over the tray presented to us.How can a lodge seriously offer such disgusting food to guests. We paid over 60 USD for almost inedible food.On a bright note the bartender was friendly …but we needed the drinks to settle our stomachs after the ‚great dinner‘

The location is supposed to be the perfect place to stay in Yellowstone., but we were very disapointed. It is very expensive for what you get and the staff is terrible. Our room did not have hot water and it was impossible to get another one even if a lot of them were available. The staff knew it before we checked in, but did not inform us. On top, we have been asked to wait for the maintenance team in the room during 2 hours but no one show up.The restaurant was a disgusting fast food. This is unfortunate as the nature around is beautiful.

Overall a pleasant stay at Lake Lodge. The lobby itself is gorgeous and a great place to relax. There is a bar, fireplace, lots of comfy seating and wifi! The Western Cabin room was just okay. It was loud from the neighbors (into the early morning), the body wash was empty, the hand lotion was empty and a light bulb was burned out. I get supply/demand and pricing but it stung paying over $300 for this room. Oh and the power went out in the morning so I wasn't able to make the free in-room coffee and had to pay for it at the restaurant. This was a 1-2 star hotel room for 4-5 star price.Wylie's Canteen, the restaurant on-site, is affordable and fine. I had a solid burger there alongside chili and then a breakfast sandwich the following morning. You order at a kiosk and call your name/number. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Right near the lake, easy to find and staff was super friendly and helpful getting us checked in. The cabins are as described, older and rustic. Basic and clean. Some extra amenities like a coffee pot with tea and coffee was an awesome surprise (didn't realize they were here) plus an adorable bear shaped soap. Loved that it had a private bathroom and semi-remote entry to the room. Loved our night here even though it was a double-size bed.

No WiFi in the cabins. WiFi in the lobby is so slow, it’s pretty much nonexistent. Cellular also rarely works. Impossible to do any research. No mini fridge in the cabin so impossible to store perishable food. Not worth the price of $348 a night.

During this pandemic, the lodge was exceptionally clean, the ordering process streamlined, and the waiting and pickup process was great. I felt very safe going into this restaurant, we went 3 times during our trip. After picking up your food (you wait on a green dot, placed 6 feet from the other dots on the floor), you exit out a separate door to eat on a picnic table outside. I was very impressed and highly recommended this place. Plus, my chicken burger was excellent with the hot buffalo sauce fixings, which I ordered every time I was there.

If you want a small, limited service. albeit expensive, cabin while at Yellowstone, this is the place. It appears the cabins are being restored and/or replaced. So this detail may be out of date. The cabins are more along the line of single room row housing. Important suggestion. If you want entertainment, bring a speaker for your computer, phone or whatever. You won't be sorry.

The worst out of six lodges from our road trip / round trip (Denver-Mount Rushmore-Devils Tower-Yellowstone). The room was sparse equipped (no WIFI, no fridge, no coffee creamer) and not well cleaned. The (so called) restaurant was a fastfood rat-shop of the best sort, if you know what I mean. The worst Mc D. would have been better. The best of the whole Lodge was the cozy bar with the chimney where we spent most of the time when we were not exploring the park (the bar tender did a great job). The main building was the only place where we were able to use WIFI to plan our tours for the next day. But don’t believe it worked well. Not at all. We were lucky to upload pics to the world wide web. For this reason, we decided to cancel one of the two booked nights. The lady at the reception was phenomenal. She and the barkeeper are the reason that our review is more than one star.

I stayed with my family in the Lake Lodge cabin from June 14 to June 17, 2021. The Lake Lodge is a cabins lodge with a large porch front to Yellowstone's lake inside of the Yellowstone National Park. Built in 1891, it is the oldest operating hotel in the park. I stayed for four days and three nights as part of my visit to Yellowstone Park. Stepping through the lobby, I was immediately struck by the two- fireplaces in the lobby, as well as the spacious and friendly reception area. Light, airy, and a very welcoming atmosphere. The staff throughout the lodge were very professional, friendly, and extremely helpful. They are always greeting and smiling at us. The location of the lodge is amazing. The cabin room was clean and spacious, which included a coffee maker, two beds with a private bath, soap, shampoo, body wash, body cream, towels, and the shower was always hot. Even though there is no refrigerator and microwave, and it is prohibited to cook, we manage very well with sandwiches, coffee, fruits, bottles of water, and juices. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to someone who wants to go to visit Yellowstone. You may find it is pricey but compared to having to drive long distances in and out every day from the park, there is no comparison when you want to optimize your visit because there are a lot of activities to do, And the lake is beautiful, simply priceless! Special thanks to Sue (Michigan) & Adriana (New York) in Lake Lodge; and Fernando Santillan in Lake Hotel; to you all I appreciate what you did for me during my stay in Yellowstone :) .

Pleasantly surprised.. cabins were cozy and comfortable. Water pressure, temperature and beds all satisfactory. Lodge has a little bar with great bartender and grill had classic but solid choices (burgers, salads, Mac and cheese, along with vegan options). Self service laundry can also be found in the lodge along with nice gift shop. Recommend!

Eating here is like eating at your friend's barbecue, except your friend sucks at grilling. You look at your food, then sigh, but eat it anyway because it's food. Oh, and your friend happens to live 75 miles from the nearest town..

We loved it here! Our cabin was so cute, it was much bigger than we anticipated. We saw elk everywhere. The only issue was the food situation. Due to it being towards the end of the season, plus being really understaffed, your only option was to eat at the hotel, and it was always buffet. It got really expensive, and if you got there too late, and I'm talking like 5:30, there could be up to an hour and a half wait. I know they were doing what they could with what they had to work with, but it was still frustrating. We did love our cabin a lot though.

The dining facility at Lake Lodge has been converted from a funky cafeteria to absolutely one of the worst eating establishments I have ever had the misfortune to sample. You self order on a computer and have a number called to pick up you over-priced sack of consumables. The burger was overcooked, tasteless and served at room 🤒. It was awful and makes McDonald's a gourmet treat. Like everything Xanterrible touches, they have destroyed it. Stay away.
