The Lake General Store has very friendly and outgoing employees. When we were there it wasn't too crowded so we got to visit with the employees. The scenery is amazing and it was a great stop as part of an awesome trip through Yellowstone.

Great General Store, lots of incidental items, snacks, groceries, and souvenirs available. We enjoyed our meal and ice cream from the lunch counter. It was nice to find somewhere away from the large crowds, and the view can't be beat.

Great place to stock up on basic groceries, water and other supplies before heading out to camp or fish. All the park grocery stores have a water bottle fill station so search it out and save some coin. Bldg is unique, built in 1904 with central chandelier made in France. Very unique and appropriate!

Great little store on the lake for basics. It doesn't open until 9. That doesn't make sense for anyone wanting to be up and going early. The food at the counter was meh, but better than the cantina at the Lake Lodge. Sadly, the counter closes at 5 pm. Best food we had was at the General Store at Canyon.

Nice selection of souvenirs and wearable items. Sadly, none of the stores have anything larger than 2XL for T-shirts.

Nice little shop. High prices, though (i.e. $8 for a loaf of wheat bread), so be prepared!

As any national park stores, the items displayed are way overpriced. The food in the cafe is passable enough to satisfy the hunger. But the price does not equal the quality of food they serve. The salad we ordered was wilted. The staff are very pleasant though hence the 5 star rating. And also the outside dining tables have splendid view of the calm water and the snow capped mountains. The restroom is located behind the store and is clean... real restroom.

Very convenient for all kinds of items including basic meals for anyone not wanting to dine in the nearby hotels. Some outdoor seating with a killer lake view! The ice cream is really good, too. Cones are large and filled all the way to the bottom. We were sitting in the car slurping ice cream when to our delight the 2019 4th of July parade came by.

One of the smaller general stores in Yellowstone but has almost everything you would need. Souvenirs are well priced. You can purchase groceries and even some fresh fruit. Sandwiches and drinks also available for purchase and there are a couple of picnic tables by the lake with good views to look at while you eat. Excellent ice cream is also available in a few flavors.

This store has basically the same things as all the other stores in the park. The restaurant is not great, but it's fast and cheap. This location has lovely ice cream.The store sells beer, wine, and spirits with a small but nice selection of each.

Visited the store for soft drinks and snacks. Was pleasantly surprised to find a real grocery store although with a somewhat limited choice of food available! (No Dr. Pepper), although it is available at other park stores.

This was terrible even for park food. Had the chicken caesar salad and the turkey wrap. The turkey wrap had one piece of turkey, a huge wrap and tons of ice berg lettuce. It was next to tasteless.Also this is as of 2019 operated by Delaware North. These are the folks trying to claim ownership of the trademark of Yosemite National Park (along with Curry Camp, Ahwahnee Hotel etc). Would not have eaten here had we known beforehand.

I"m curious as to why some of the things carried here are not available in any of the other general stores in the Park. This one had such cute onesies, PJs and t-shirts for toddlers, but I couldn't get those anywhere else, and it's quite a drive to Lake from anywhere else, if you're not staying in the Park.

If I could give it zero stars I would. Small quantities of tasteless food at high prices and lackluster service. Then again, you don’t go to Yellowstone for the dining.

The general store is a smaller version than the one you will find at Canyon or Fishing Bridge, but it gets the job done. I'd recommend grabbing some ice cream and eating it along the lakeside.

As with all Yellowstone General Stores, Lake General is nice and well stocked. One of the best if not the best.
