This is a great dinosaur and natural history museum! I love that the exhibit starts with the natural history of Earth and goes through time to the dinosaurs. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The gift shop has a great selection of items to purchase from toys and books to decorative knick knacks and shirts. I highly recommend checking out this museum!

Our Kids did the kids dig and had a blast with all the activities. The dig site was rained out when they went, so we went a couple days later and got to dig as a family. It was a lot of fun!I was a little worried because they serve them lunch and my kids are picky eaters, but they figured out what all the kids would eat before the parents left. It was well organized and a wonderful experience!I don't know what general admission is, but the kids dig was $100 each and the shovel ready all ages dig was $80/each.The kids have a whole bag full of souvenirs from the kids event too.

Our family had a great time looking at all the cool dinosaur bones in this place! The info cards were interesting and the variety was very cool. They brightened up the entrance section and added many more items than our last trip about 7 years ago. They have a play area and tables at one end where you can still see the kids walking around. The gift shop had a nice selection and was reasonably priced. The bathrooms were clean and the facility was well kept. We enjoyed adding our pin to the map and seeing where everyone was from.

We purchased the Dig For a Day, and it was absolutely amazing. Our Dig was at a site where a Diplodocus was fossilized, so there was an astounding amount of fossils at the surface, and we got to continue working to excavate them. Our guides were knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and worked well with both kids and adults. After lunch, we had additional time to move to another site and then return to the Wyoming Dinosaur Center for a tour of the museum.

One of the best dinosaur museums on the planet! A real, active, dig site that you can participate in, a working research facility where you can prepare hundred million year old dinosaur fossils, and a gorgeous gallery, full of rare and unique specimens. You won’t see anywhere else on earth.Your closest airport is Casper, Wyoming— and then it’s just a cynic drive through the Wind River Canyon, and you can live the adventure of authentic paleontology!!

We didn't know this museum existed till we saw the signs pointing the way! The exhibits are informative, starting with a history of the various eras of ancient earth. The dinosaur skeletons are, of course, the main attraction, but the smaller displays surrounding them have some fascinating finds! Well worth the time.

The quality of exhibits is outstanding. Each display tells a story. This isn’t a museum just telling you the name of a dinosaur and where it lived. They tell stories about how species lived and interacted with the ecosystems. I learned a lot as did my kids. If I was just rating the quality of the museum it would be 4.5. It needs a few more hands-on kid centered activities to be a 5. The quarry is a separate tour and charge. We didn’t realize that until they announced the tour departing. By then it was sold out. So we missed out on that. Which leads me to the quality of staff greeting visitors as they enter. They two we encountered seemed detached and uninterested or poorly trained. We were not greeted, the ticket options were not clearly explained. I tried asking questions and it was like pulling teeth to get answers. And later when we tried to buy a pretzel the response was, “we have no idea if they are good.” I don’t even Know what that meant. If I judged the facility on the quality of staff I encountered I would give it a 1. Don’t let staff with bad attitude distract from the overall quality of the museum. Also, billboards advertise “kids dig” but it isn’t like you can just walk up and sign your kids up to dig. These are booked in advance, periodic events that cost a fair amount. I was pretty disappointed in that.

The outside of the building isn't the greatest but the inside display area is very good. There is ample parking for folks with campers and trailers. The staff working were kind of meh TBH. The displays were good. I was a little dissapointed that many of them were replcas but they did have may fossils as well.

We stumbled on this place on our way to Colorado and wow it blew us away. My boyfriend had so much fun nerding out over all the fossils. We did the extra tour to the dig site and it was very informative and interesting. I would plan 2-3 hours to do the whole museum if you are a big fossil fan. It’s a small place but they really pack it all in!

What an amazing place! I saw this on a map and we decided to take a trip to see it. We loved seeing all the fossils and learning about them and where they came from. We plan on going back when it is cooler so we can do the dig tour. It is such a great place for kids. We can't wait to go back.

Great for the kiddos, pretty small. We didn't take the tour bus to the dig site and just strolled around the museum was pretty spendy imo but still cool all the same. Most the fossils seemed to be replicas which I suppose doesn't really matter all that much. Probably one of the only things to do for a family other than the hot spring pools.

We loved this beautiful museum. The facility is small but houses world class specimens, masterfully displayed. Make sure you take the dug site tour. Bring plenty of water, you'll be up there for a while. Listen close.....lots of information coming at you very quickly. Rare opportunity to see a real dinosaur dig site. Do not miss this facility!!

Incredible collection on display here! Amazing information! Didn't have time for a dig site tour or the Dig for a Day programs which seemed exciting, but this museum is just one more low cost, high value family friendly activity in the area! Took a little over an hour walking through, but we could have spent way more time reading and learning! Can't miss this one with or without the kiddos!! What fun!

Fun little museum with fossils. We mainly went for my 8 year old but she lost interest pretty quickly. My 11 year old was fascinated. We were unable to go to the dig site. I think it would have been more interesting for my younger kids if we had. My kids enjoyed watching the workers clean off the fossils in the lab. Nice gift shop as well.
