Stayed for 2 nights with the missus, and Thermopolis was fun! The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the complimentary breakfast was simple but I enjoyed it. My favorite part was the make-your-own waffle station they had in the breakfast room! The bed was clean and comfortable, the towels and bedding were nice and clean, the giant AC/heater worked wonderfully, and the TV and provided appliances were very convenient. My only real complaint was that the corners of the bathroom weren't very clean and needed to be swept a little better. Otherwise, I was annoyed by a couple of families that let their kids run around in the halls from 11pm-12am, but there's nothing the staff could do about that. There were no pests, no bed bugs, and the main road outside the hotel tended to be very quiet. Overall, wonderful stay and definitely worth the money!Rooms: My room was quite spacious, simple layout, everything was easily accessible, and perfectly functional and clean bathroom.Nearby activities: There is tons to do in the nearby town of Thermopolis. My favorite was driving through the little state park nearby, and visiting the super awesome dinosaur museum!Safety: The area seemed pretty safe, had an auto-locking door, a secondary hotel deadbolt thing, and a safe to lock personal effects in. I would recommend bringing an additional door jam if you need it, but I felt comfortable enough with my CCW.Walkability: A bit far from town, but easily walkable. Probably a mile or so from the town center, and with plenty of sidewalks and routes and trails.Food & drinks: Complimentary breakfast in the morning, simple, but free!

Absolutely awful!!! The room is SOOOO dirty! The mirrors haven’t been touched in a long time. There was an empty bar soap bag for the shower. No conditioner. The shower had many hairs already in it. Hasn’t been vacuumed. The lady checking us in smelled like alcohol. Hard. The reception had two men drinking in it for hours with the TV blasting to the point that you couldn’t hear the receptionist mumbling through her drunken stupor. The vending machines are all broken. One has power to it, but won’t vend anything. The water machine has a red light indicating the filter needs changing. There were dogs running around the hall without owners. It turns out they belonged to the receptionist. If you need to ever find her, she is either outside chain smoking with a guy that must live in the Jeep constantly parked and running in the front or behind the office with her head on the desk. One star is a stretch. I wish zero stars was possible to give. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!!!

I would give 0 stars, if I could. This hotel was beyond dirty and disgusting. When we got there we got checked in and were given keys. Upon arrival to our room, it was still being cleaned so we waited outside. When it was finally ready we unloaded the car and went inside. The hotel room smelled like B.O. so bad we had to open the window to air it out. The carpets looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in weeks, the bathroom toilet had clearly not been cleaned as there was “stuff” stuck on the seat and bowl, the shower curtain looked like it had urine stains on it and the towels looked like they hadn’t been washed in weeks. Not to mention, the stains on the pillows and sheets. We were thinking maybe it was just our room because they knew we were waiting to get in and settled. But, the bathroom and carpets by the main desk were just as filthy. We were checked in for 2 hours before we decided to go to the front desk and leave for another hotel. Overall terrible experience - would not recommend this dirty place to anyone.

Management should understand that if they are going to do maintenance that they should block reservations during those days. I booked online and arrived and the entire place smelled like paint. I thought it would be better in the room but I was there for ten minutes and couldn't handle it. It was so strong that my partner who had stayed in the car said he could smell it on me when I got back into the car. The lady at the front desk was nice about it and I got the refund approved but it sucks to go to a hotel and have to leave because they shouldn't have been open.

To start with, the staff was very good. I just felt like there were way too few of them. The entire motel isn't very clean. Its definately a leave your shoes on kinda place. Our first room was missing a remote. Then the TV wouldn't work. They offered to switch us rooms or 20% off, so we switched. It was a little noisy next to the main road, but not too bad. Dogs barking downstairs in the morning. Breakfast was pretty awful. They did have some good options, but the eggs were inedible. Sausage patties sitting in water, cereal but no milk. Ran out of syrup, coffee, and yogurt. All in all it wasn't a miserable stay. If you are looking for dirt cheap, it is a place to lay your head. If you are looking for a nice relaxing night and morning with the family, look elsewhere.

DIRTIEST ”HOTEL” I have ever stayed in. We arrived around 5pm, dropped our bags in the room then went to dinner came back around 8pm. Was going to take a shower but it was clear the shower & towels had not been cleaned. Hair/Dirt/Clumps of unknown grime everywhere (and I mean everywhere) The room looked as though it hadn’t been vacuumed for weeks, stains on the sheets, Dirt & Old toothpaste all over the sink/counter. I went down to speak with the front desk worker to ask when the last time the room had been cleaned, she said management had confirmed it was cleaned. The hotel was fully booked & we were unable to change rooms. We checked around at other hotels/motels in the area to switch hotels. Unfortunately the neighboring hotel had one room left at $210 (which we couldn’t afford since we had already spend $100 for this dirty quality inn). We grabbed our personal towels out of the car, and put them on the bed to sleep so we weren’t touching the pillows/sheets. If we had realized the hotels uncleanliness level sooner than 8pm we would have drove BACK to Cody for a motel. We had planned to go to Star Plunge but decided to leave Thermopolis the second we woke up because we felt dirty and were unable to use the showers in our rooms since they were so dirty. Thus, we missed out on our main reason we came to thermopolis. Next time around we will stay at the Best Western Plus. Do not waste your money. Upon checking out we rang the bell multiple times at front desk (7am) and waited for quite sometime before someone showed up the employee who showed up clearly didn’t work the front desk position as he was just trying to help us get our reciept. Will be contacting Quality Inn customer support for a full refund.

One of the better places to stay in Thermopolis; has pros and cons. I love the bunkbed room option. It is great for larger families. The beds are very comfortable. The rooms are not very clean, especially the bathroom toilet and tile. Towels seem pretty old, and some are stained. The hot water lasts maybe one shower if you are lucky. The carpeting is pretty dirty, and worn. It needs replaced or cleaned as there were very large stains on it. The housekeeping staff starts cleaning rooms early. He knocked lightly on our room door. I didn’t even have a chance to answer before he tried opening the door on us. That made me super uncomfortable. Also, the back door safety lock is broken so just anyone can enter the hotel; no key needed. The pool area is very nice. The front desk staff was nice. With a few changes, this would be a good place to stay, but it does need some work and updating.

Room & beds were comfortable. Hotel was not in good repair though. Keyed entry on back door was broken, so anyone can walk in. Doors to maintenance rooms in pool area that should have been locked were not. (I found this when searching for a bathroom.) There is not a bathroom close to pool area. The pool was not heated and was very cold. There was one front desk attendant who was helpful when I was trying to do laundry. (Washer showed 'Out of Order'. Coin receptacle just needed to be emptied.)Most concerning were extension cords running from the hotel to auxiliary buildings. They ran across the side lawn area through the wet grass and across the back parking lot area. It was all pretty haphazard.Safety: See comments above regarding door security and extension cords.

Great stay! The Thermopolis Quality Inn had friendly, helpful staff, comfortable beds, quiet room, the indoor pool area has great furniture for reading, family gathering, etc. The breakfast was good half the time... though the sausage was a little undercooked a couple of days. I appreciated SO much that they didn't use perfumed sprays in the rooms or on the bedding! Heater/AC worked great, the bathroom was clean, no bugs anywhere. We had a great time.

I can't say enough great things about the staff. They were awesome! The location was great. BUT.. The key lock on the outside door is broken and the door just stays open. That is also the place where everyone goes to smoke so the moment you walk outside you are hit right in the face with smoke. That area is dirty. The rooms are just not worth $150 for a weekday (Tuesday) The whole place really needs someone to come in and really do some deep cleaning from the parking lot to the inside.

Disclaimer....I realize quality help is hard to find. With that said, our room had a musty smell. One bed with stained sheets and topper. Till floors had not been swept for some time. Carpet needed vacuumed around the edges.Shelf in the bathroom was coming off from the wall along with the shower curtain rod. Top of the shower had not been cleaned for awhile because of residue around the top edge. Ran out of hot water after three showers. On a good note, the breakfast had a wide variety of food to choose from.

I would not recommend staying here our room was very dirty. There was trash from the previous guest that had not been emptied, tile floor had not been mopped and had dirty footprints all over it, the carpet has clearly not been vacuumed, even the headboard was filthy with something sticky and dripping down it. I really was grossed out by the room.In addition every time the AC turned on (several times an hour) it made a very loud noise and the whole room would shake. It did not make for a good night sleep at all.

Rooms were pretty awful, not much else to say there. Not many other options in the town. Sharon was the bomb-diggity, she took the best care of us and our family as she was able and went above and beyond to try to make things right. The other employee was great too, I don’t remember his name but he had an awesome pony tail, he came and personally changed out bedding for us when we were moved and chatted with us in the lobby about our stay.

The room was immaculately clean. The rest of the hotel was in very good condition and the staff was friendly. The only negative item is the morning breakfast. I arrived at 6:00 a.m. when the breakfast area opens, and the eggs sausage and gravy were not hot. It appears that the food warmers need to be turned on earlier so that they get up to temperature prior to 6:00 a.m.. That being said, I would definitely come to this hotel again!

This place was disgusting. Food crumbs and trash all over the room, including kinetic sand and a partially chewed fruit snack (see pictures). Crumbs on the bed, both on and under the sheets. The trash bags had not been replaced from the previous customers. Room had not been properly cleaned in a while. We arrived at the hotel, checked in, and inspected the room. Upon seeing the condition of the room, we asked the front desk to have someone clean the room. They arrived with a broken vacuum held together with masking tape. The worker kept saying the room had been clean when she last looked, almost insinuating we created the mess in the 5 mins we had been in the room. The vacuum worked for a minute or two before becoming clogged. At this point, we decided to leave and promptly asked for a full refund (which was provided). Only spent 10 mins in the room, which was far too long. We went to the Best Western where we paid more but at least had a clean room. Will never attempt to stay here again.

I usually don’t stay at places like this but I’m working and they footed the bill. So they do have a small bar but vending machines are either broken or completely empty. The rooms are ok it’s in between out dated and trying to do better remember folks you get what you pay for it it across town from the hot springs off that’s what you are coming here for. Sorry about the pics and video I dropped my phone a while back and broke a camera lensRooms: Beds aren’t too bad!!!

Our room was not cleaned, there was toothpaste splattered all over the sink, the faucet and the mirror. The bed spread was filthy and stained. There were even dirty towels left from the previous people. Will not stay here again

I don’t know what’s up with all these bad reviews but my stay here has exceeded my expectations. Room didn’t smell like so many of these reviews say. I’ve stayed at many quality inns and this one is the best one.The only complaint is the noise level of others but of course that’s not the hotels fault people just suck now a days with 0 respect.Preston at the front desk was AMAZING. We got to town a bit early I called and Preston answered and I asked if we could come check in early (it’s was an hour before we were supposed to check in) and he checked and told us to come on down. When we checked in he was very welcoming and spoke highly of the night front desk person. Highly recommend this hotel.

Room smells musty and hallways smelled smoky. Very noisy hotel. No elevator and I should have asked about that. Theres a recliner in the room but its broken and the foot rest only comes up a few inches. I could hear people in the halls like they were in the room with me and a lot of noise upstairs. I'd expect this from a 50.00 hotel but paid 144.00 so expected a bit more. The outside is clean and well kept and the desk clerks were amazing.

We got two rooms for our family, each with a bunkbed. The room wasn't quite up-to-snuff when we arrived, but when we brought this to the attention of the front desk, they went above and beyond to make it right. (They literally cleaned it themselves while we went out to visit the park). The staff was very pleasant, though room upgrades could be nice (our microwave didn't heat anything up, though the one in the dining area did).Breakfast was surprising, as there wasn't any milk for anything. The breakfast sandwiches that you heat up are actually made there, though, and using real cheese. They were really good!We were informed when we made the reservations that the pool and hot tub were closed due to renovations, so no unpleasant surprise there. We were coming specifically to visit the hot springs anyway, so it wasn't a big loss. The televisions were really hard to operate, surprisingly. It took a good 20 minutes to get things working each day we stayed.Overall, the stay was good. I hope the cleaning staff (initially responsible) get a bit more training, but kudos to the front desk staff for literally taking upon themselves to fix them up.
