I can't remember the last time I stayed at a hotel that had a physical room key instead of a keycard. The room was quiet, clean (if a bit sparse) and the beds were comfortable with fresh sheets. The proprietor was friendly and made sure we were comfortable for our short stay in Thermopolis. This motel is only a short drive from the famous hot springs, and the dinosaur museum. We arrived late, and they were still able to get us a room with no notice at a good rate.

We attempted to stay at this quaint place-we had to call and wait for someone to come check us in. We asked about wifi and the attendant did not know the password; she then locked her keys in the office and we waited for someone else to come unlock the office. We found the door to our room didn’t really lock, and the attendant would not be at the motel till 8 am (should any problems arise) or later the next morning to check us out. At that point we got our money back and went back to the Quality Inn which was an awesome place to stay.

Yes, the staff is nice. This didn't make me feel any better about the room. This property is grossly over-rated. I don't understand how people gave it 5-stars. Might be the worst place I've stayed. No deadbolt on the door. There was a chain lock on the door frame inside but nothing on the door. The bedspread was absolutely disgusting. It looked it was from the 80s KMart and who knows if its ever been washed, lots of stains. The furniture was old no problems there, but the pillow coverings were the issue. Nasty and stained! The nightstand light didn't work. There was no smoke detector. There was obviously a leak in the toilet upstairs because there was a huge section of the drywall that had been replaced. But they literally cut out a piece of drywall to fit, screwed it into the ceiling and then called it good. No finishing work at all. Luckily my man is not a princess and didn't complain but it was bad. You can have the friendliest staff but the place is a DUMP. I think properties should have a responsibility to provide safe accommodations or you should be able to get your money back. Definitely not safe and not clean.

Great little rustic place with friendly owners who gave us suggestions about what we could do/see in the area. Nothing fancy but clean and everything worked just fine. It was nice that it was so close to Yellowstone/Grand Teton, but not crazy expensive. We spent two nights here and we would definitely come stay here again.

We stayed in a queen suite (2 bedrooms with queen beds) that allowed pets. Rooms were updated with a modern bathroom (loved it) and very nice furniture Our room was so clean our dogs didn’t sense if another pet had been there or not. Carpet was clean, no stains. Wasn’t afraid to walk barefoot. Owners were nice and helpful. Enjoyed our stay and will be repeat customers.

Very cute motel! The room is nice but VERY noisy. We are in Unit 19 at the end of the motel and the traffic outside is crazy loud. 18 wheelers, dump trucks, loud cars and motorcycles, construction vehicles, etc., are driving by, stopping, trucks using their Jake breaks and on and on. There is a Maverik station right next to us and that brings in even more noise. There’s no coffee service in the room but there is a microwave and refrigerator, with coffee available in the office. The bathroom decor is very nice and the wood sculptures of bears on the motel railings are very cute. There isn’t always someone in the office, so it helps to call if you need anything.I probably wouldn’t stay in this room again, if we decide to stay here again.

This was my wife's and I second time through this part of Wyoming. We had stayed at The Elk Antler Inn several years ago, and looked forward to staying here again. The rooms are cozy with a rustic charm. Our room was extremely clean and comfortable. It has a microwave and fridge, and a great comfortable bed. The housekeeping staff does an amazing job. The managers, KC and Ed are very friendly and helpful with restaurant choices and things to do and see in the area.We highly recommend staying here for its friendly and helpful staff, and a clean comfortable room.

I decided to come up to thermopolis for a mini birthday vacation weekend. I stayed one night at Elk Antler Inn. The service was absolutely phenomenal. The lady in the office was so kind and welcoming to both me and my dog. By the end of the visit she said you can call me a second mom.I booked the room a week in advance and requested a bathtub so I could have a spectacular birthday bubblebath. I have to conserve water where I live so the bath was a must. The gentleman that booked the room for me was super friendly and accommodating. He even told me that the pet deposit was only 10.00! That's the lowest pet deposit I have come across in all of my hotel stays. When I got to the hotel I was greeted by a wonderful lady and told her my birthday was that day. We talked about how her's,her husband's and my birthday were within a week of one another. She showed me to my room which was the one you see in all the pictures. Room 16. I definitely suggest booking that room if you have a chance.Upon entering the room it was really clean and inviting. There are two separate rooms with a conjoining bathroom. So even if you came with a friend or family member, you have the most privacy. There's a microwave, a mini fridge, and a small table you can use too, as well as, a TV in both rooms. So you don't even have to share that with your family members. ^_^This place was overall very welcoming and even though previous customers stole the tub drain plug, the host bent over backwards to try to solve the problem. They are very pet friendly and not to mention inexpensive! I highly, highly suggest for you to stay here anytime you visit Thermopolis.

Really cute rooms decorated in modern Western styles. The bathroom was recently redone and the fixtures worked really well. Great heat and water pressure to the shower which is such a treasure after you’ve been on the road for hours. The woman who owns/manages the property is very, very sweet and has lots of good recommendations for sites, restaurants and activities to see and do in the area.

Very nice owners, but, need to clean behind & below beds, - it's scary. While, trying to find an outlet for my phone charger, I pulled mattress away from bed a little, to expose a huge area of dust & dirty unknowns, I wish I hadn't, cuz I was no longer able to sleep because of it. I was afraid of what would crawl out & get me in my sleep. Otherwise, clean throughout room. If you are a heavy/large person, find another hotel, as the mattresses are super "sinkable". Cute decor, toilet a little bit of a pain, the 1st flush didn't, so had to open back of toilet & flush that way, worked slow, but, normal afterwards. Took a while to get hot water, in shower & sink. Have real towels, which is nice. I didn't use shower, I waited till we got to our other hotel the next day. *Overpriced. If you don't mind overpaying, & you are skinny, & fit, (if on 2nd floor, no elevators), and you enjoy western/mountain/country decor, you will be happy. Trucker parking, if you look for it on the streets around there. We parked across street, in neighborhood.

It's a charming roadside motel. It worked well for our night stay. The owner is extremely welcoming and nice. The beds were comfortable and added bonus that were in separate rooms from each other. The bathroom had clearly been recently upgraded was nice. There are complimentary snacks provided in the office which was nice. The one big issue and why it's not 4 stars is the door was hard to open and locking it difficult, at one point the dead bolt got stuck and we were kinda locked in until we figured out that lifting up the door unstuck it. Even with that I would not mind staying here again because of the proximity to the hot springs and dinosaur center.

This is the cutest and most homely hotel I have ever stayed at. It's clean, the decor is adorable, and the staff and so incredibly friendly. I'll be going out of my way to stop here on my road trips in the future. Can't recommend it enough!

Not a good experience And unlike some of the reviews we read and why we booked a room..I would NOT use the worlds Nice.. Clean or whimsical to describe this motel, it wasn't very clean ..we have bugs in our room. No parking. Does not look like the picture. Really old AC in the room doesn't work very well to cool the whole room down and was 95° that day. The people running the motel ..the lady nice but the man was very nosey in our business made us feel very uncomfortable ..they live at motel and have a bunch of park run down vehicles in the parking lot that dont move. We book for 3 night only stayed one because we couldn't get out money back ..If you can I would find somewhere else to stay.

Elk Antler Inn was able to accommodate us quickly with great service. The room was spacious with a king and queen size bed with a door separating the beds for privacy and comfort with two TV's. The bathroom was recently renovated and everything was very clean.

This place doesn’t even deserve one star. Showed up to check in and someone was running around half naked when it was freezing out. The comforter was disgusting, had brown stains all over it. The heat didn’t work in the room. No one was ever in the office, you had to call them on the phone to track them down. Didn’t even end up staying after we walked in the room and saw the condition of it and how cold it was we turned our key in and left. Also did not feel safe staying there. Spend the money and go to the Best Western, it’s well worth it.

This is the best little find. If, like us, you’re traveling through and only see a couple of hotels you recognize, skip the chains and come here. Here’s why:1. Big, comfy, clean rooms. We asked for a two queen room. We got the Elk Antler version - more appropriately known as a two bedroom suite. Kids in one room, mom & dad in the other is something families don’t get often without paying twice the price. Also, the beds have new memory foam. Super comfy.2. The grandmother running the establishment is adorable. Super friendly, wants to make sure you’re at home and know your way around.3. Affordable. All-in, we spent $98. Much less than the chains.4. Funky. They literally have antlers attached to the ceiling lights and a moose tapestry on the wall! There are a few minor “quirks” - older A/C units, older (but very clean) tub, but it kind of adds to the vibe.I’d totally come back!

Super friendly staff. Nice big shower was unexpected and appreciated (I'm 6'5"). Very accommodating for our travelling party when we had a mechanical issue and were unable to leave on schedule. No ice machine or vending on site, but convenience store is right next door.
