This isn't a fancy place but it was exactly what we needed: very clean, dog friendly (with deposit), super-nice staff, off-road with a large yard/ parking area for walking our dogs. There was only one unit left when we arrived and it was a suite, which was more than we needed, with 2 rooms and 3 beds. That made it a little more expensive together with the dog deposits, but it was quiet and pleasant, so we didn't mind.Noteworthy details: Pet-friendly

This motel gets good ratings for a reason! Not only did we love parking outside our door, we felt safe enough to leave our bikes on our car rack. Our welcome at the front desk was genuine and warm. The beds, bathroom, and interior of our room were very nice. We received excellent recommendations on area restaurants and activities. We highly recommend El Rancho!

My recent stay at this so-called "motel" was an absolute nightmare. From the moment I walked into the front desk, I could tell it was going to be a disaster. Nobody was accountable, and I had to ring the bell multiple times just to get someone's attention.The second time I rang the bell, I heard blaring party music coming from the back, as if this place were hosting a wild frat party instead of providing the calm and serene atmosphere I expected.Finally, on my third bell ring, still, no one appeared at the front desk. In sheer frustration, I decided to call the front desk, and what did I get? A response from a lady who told me, "I'm away right now." Imagine that, an employee telling a guest they're unavailable.But here's the kicker, after treating me like I was invisible, the next day, we were informed that we weren't welcomed back. Can you believe the audacity? It's as if they take pride in terrible customer service.I would strongly advise anyone to steer clear of this establishment unless you enjoy being treated like an inconvenience by unprofessional staff. I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy. Never again!

I have stayed at El Rancho motel on 3 different years. I have enjoyed the friendly service I received there. The first time I stayed there I left an expensive spare car key and didn't miss it until arriving home. Susan mailed to me in Lexington Kentucky at her expense. I have enjoyed her friendly hospitality at El Rancho for 3 years now and wouldn't stay anywhere else in Thermopolis. Besides her reviews are constantly better than her competitors.Rooms: Always clean and comfy.

Super location for families and all kinds of Thermop visitors. We stayed in a room that slept 5 people. It was cozy, clean, and just what we needed. The hotel owner and staff are kind, friendly, and happy to help. Great value for money and great location (view out the front is towards Wind River Canyon). We've already made reservations to stay there again. :)

Stayed here on a girls' road trip to Bannf AB. I was called the proir day to confirm reservation, due to holiday weekend. We advised a late check-in due to the time and distance we were traveling. Unfortunately, we had car troubles and were going to be even later than anticipated. Susan and Tabitha were very kind and super accommodating. Thank you so much. The room was clean and comfortable. Very quiet and had everything we needed for the short time we stayed. The only thing we noticed was that the refrigerator in the room was not turned on and had an odor (mostly likely from being off). Would love to stay here again and explore the area. Thanks again for a comfortable and quiet stay.

This was the cutiest motel that we stayed at on our trip!! The owner Sue was a delight!! So friendly and accommodating! She even let me use her washer and line dry my clothes! The inside of the rooms were super clean, super cute! The shower was more spacious then I expected from pictures. And I'm a big kid lol. So it was nice not to feel squished. The area is a good location when you turn in stay to the right. I kept left and had to turn around in the (what looked like) car shops area.. overall a wonderful experience if I could rate higher I absolutely would. If I ever return to Thermopolis I absolutely will book this motel again!!! Thank you for the amazing stay 💓

The owners were so nice and gave me lots of suggestions on what to see during my stay in Thermopolis. The room was cozy and had lots of nice personal touches unlike other motels. It had a fridge and was clean. It was convenient to park right in front of my room (gravel parking lot), and there was a bench outside each room so I watched the sunset. I felt safe here as a solo female traveler.

Absolutely awesome little motel! Friendly staff, Brand new room that was beautiful. The beds are extremely clean and comfortable, has nice clean hot shower. Fridge, microwave and tv are all in great working order. My favorite part was the gas grill they have outdoors that visitors can use to make their own dinner. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend.

Impeccably clean room, nice view to the south, and a nice patio/grilling area that seems to be coming together nicely. One of the friendliest and most informative owners I've ever met! Steered me to the best (for me) hot springs pool, dining, etc. Will definitely stay here again when passing through! Fair pricing as well.

First of all I was unsure by it being an old style motel with just 12 (I think) rooms in a room. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. The owners have completely renovated the inside of these rooms and they are really nice with new sink/cabinet as well as tiles and shower. The last in the office was super nice. My main issue is that I was charged an extra $6 more than what I was informed when I reserved the room. This was because I didn't use cash. This should be flipped the other way around. You tell me the price then tell me Ican get a $6 discount for using cash. Otherwise it's unethical. The room is a slight bit expensive for what you get but I have a really good feeling if you want to stay in a nice clean room in the area and not want to pay the higher prices in Cody this is the plane you probably want.

This is the cutest motel I have ever stayed at in my life. The staff is adorable, friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. The prices are fantastic. The grounds is central, walking distance to the town's best Mexican restaurant, and on the grounds themselves they have cute, relaxing areas to bbq, hang out, swing, chat, and unwind. I have to reiterate, the entire staff was absolutely top-notch. Thermopolis is about as remote a drive as a vacationer from Los Angeles can expect to find, but it's 100% worth it for oh so many levels. Both of my children loved this place more than I did! I will have dreams for the rest of my life of this adorable, comfortable hotel of Angels.

We were warmly welcomed upon arrival at El Rancho and slept well. This small older motel has been lovingly renovated and cared for. Our room had a fridge and microwave but no hair dryer or complimentary shampoo, etc. if you are looking for luxury, this isn’t your spot, but if you want a pleasant place to spend the night, check this one out.

I absolutely loved this motel during my stay. Firstly, the price was very affordable. The location was right off the main highway for easy access. One of the owners greeted me and was super sociable and friendly, giving me any information that I needed right away. The rooms decor made it feel like I was sleeping in a cabin. Soft flannel blankets and pillow cases were very comfortable. It was an excellent, very Western, outdoorsy style that definitely made for a relaxing stay
