I read all the reviews and I was concerned and almost canceled.I am so glad I didn’t cancel because it was the best experience ever! All you need to keep in mind that this is kind of like camping out. You are roughing it but in a glam sort of way.So yes, there might be a fly in your covered wagon. You have to use the public restrooms, but they’re all private. The covered wagons had electricity to charge your phone, and we experienced a wagon where the gas heating worked wonderfully. It was also a beautiful light show.So just like if you were pitching a tent, you would have to be concerned about the items in your tent because it’s not locked. However no one stole from us. We just kept our bedding/pillows (things we brought) in the wagon; phones, food, electronics, etc., we took with us on our day excursions. We thought it was incredibly charming, and the views were amazing of the streams, and the Tetons in the distance! We love the old for trapper restaurant and bar. Very charming.I think it was a wonderful experience!

We stayed in a covered wagon which had warm blankets (very thick and soft) and a heater that worked (though the propane exhaust was a bit concerning in the morning). Our wagon was along the path the horses take in and out each day, which my kids loved watching each morning. We had not realized that we would not be able to cook food or have a fire for s'mores. Instead of camp cooking, we ate at the restaurant the first night. The food was good, $18 per burger. It hit the spot for one night, but we couldn't afford to do that every meal. We ended up taking food into Grand Teton and cooking our food at the picnic areas in the park. This required a lot more work, but we managed. It led us to spend so little time at the wagon; we only slept there. The staff asks you to keep your toiletries in the car to not attract bears. This is understandable, but very inconvenient when you have to park your car far away from your wagon because the parking provided was taken by the ranch's trucks and piles of gravel and horse manure. Mostly it was a pain at night to take the family's toothbrushes back to the car each night when you had to walk a while to do it. Parking next to the wagons would be very much appreciated. The bathrooms were cleaned daily, but there was 2 days without soap or paper towels in one bathroom and a door handle that didn't work very well.We enjoyed our 2-hour horseback ride. Make sure your whole group pays together if you want to be together. Our group was nearly split up even though we were at the same time slot. The ride was actually 1 hr 15 min or so, as it takes a while to get everyone a horse. You walk through trees up to a vista to get your picture with the Grand Tetons. I appreciated the pictures that our guide took of us on our horses with the Grand Teton's in the background. Our horses had a hard time over a few logs over the path, but no incidents. The covered wagon was something we had talked to so many people leading up to our trip. We were so excited! Unfortunately, the roadblocks we faced in our experience left us disappointed.

I’m so glad I didn’t listen to the bad reviews! We spent one night in the wagon and I so badly wish we stayed longer! This place is the real deal. The sunset over the pasture with all the horses roaming was magical. If you go expecting camping facilities you won’t be disappointed!

I’m gonna rate this place a 5 because it don’t deserve the low rating!Check-in was smooth, it was the same building as Heart-six ranch. The wagons do not have Teton views but it was much cheaper than staying in Jackson hole! There was a heater in the wagon for the freezing Temperatures at night and the flaps at the front and back of the wagon to keep flies out if you ever decide to go during the summer. (There’s no AC)The’s only 2 toilets with showers and the water is heated! You would be near a bunch of horses but they were pleasant neighbours.I would recommend this place for a memorable trip!

I booked a teepee for one night because of the price. I couldn't see the inside of the teepee but saw pictures on the site of teepee on platforms. I have stayed in teepees elsewhere. Sadly when we arrived the teepee comes with 4 cots. No pillows, or sheets. You can rent sheets and towels but not heaters ( the wagons come with 2 heaters) we entered the teepee and not only was there no platform but wet mud inside. Yuck!!! I'm a camper but even in a tent you have something on the floor. The bathrooms were super rundown. One shower out of order, and one garbage can in the hall for men and women to share. None located in the actual bathroom. This place can use some updates. The man at the desk was frustrated and not particularly friendly. We went to the restaurant which was pricy and add a 20% gratuity. It is self serve. Menus on the bar. Order at the bar. Grab your own condiments. Water was $3 and came in a water bottle.Paths could use pea gravel. It is z cool experience but really cannot recommend staying here. Come to ride horses. People said they had fun. Don't stay. Great views.

A novel place to sleep. We slept in the covered wagons, and the kids loved it. The one we were in had a king size bed, four bunks, electricity, and a heater. The view of the mountains was spectacular. It is an active horse farm with quite a few horses. There was a bath house with showers.

We stayed 4 nights in a tipi - my 2 years old kid loved everything about this place: morning horses round up ( the impression didn’t get old even after 4th morning) , feeding horses, riding horses, amazing morning views, surprising rainbow after the storm. We didn’t come with a right mental state - expecting any typical resort service but quickly adjusted to the “glamping” setting. If you are staying in the tipi prepare yourself for a camping trip, pack sleeping bags not to get cold at night. There would be linens available at your request but chances to get warm at night with local blankets are minimal. Don’t miss checking out their game room and don’t hesitate feeding horses with a fresh grass, book a horse ride and tip your guide. After 4 rustic nights in the tipi we booked a night in a very fancy resort nearby to scrub off the mud and it was just bluh - too common, too commercial, too expected. We enjoyed the comfort, security, convenience, but missed so rare proximity to the nature. I agree the coffee and tea in the cafe could have a better taste for $5, that’s not what this place is about though.

Amazingly beautiful place! Close to Tetons and Yellowstone South entrance! We are a family of 6 who stayed in a Chuckwagon! We slept warm and comfortable. We grabbed their $20 linens bundle, otherwise bring your own. Horses were beautiful coming through in the morning and evening. Food at the restaurant was tasty, about $20 per person on average. Was excellent! Elk crossed the river in the evening! How absolutely stunning to stay at such a place! Highly recommend!!

I had high hopes for this place but however, was extremely disappointed in the overall appearance and cleanliness of the property, to the point I checked out early. The restrooms shared with 20 or so individuals were absolutely filthy and appeared as if they had never been cleaned, with only one of three showers functioning. The path to the tepi was completely overgrown, with weeds even growing in the tepi itself.

I read the reviews and have to say that if others had done their due diligence and read what they booked then they wouldn’t have complained. I rented a teepee with 4 cots in it. That is what I paid for and it was reasonably priced compared to other places. If had wanted a lodge or cabin then I would have paid a lot more, and not had such a great experience. The stars at night without lights was amazing and only experienced from a tent not a hotel. Yes you should bring your own linens, towels, and we brought our own toilet paper just in case. If you go in with the mentality of camping you will love it

I am so glad we stayed here in spite of the many (unfair) bad reviews. As another review mentioned, this is a working dude ranch! It's not an IG, Pinterest dolled up tipi and covered wagons. It is primitive camping with a few more amenities than you would normally have camping. This place is exactly as described and actually even better than I expected. The following is my rebuttal to the unfair claims of previous reviews.First, the cafe: a lot of people complained that it was pricey? It certainly wasn't cheap, but it's comparable to other restaurants in the area and for the quantity and quality of food definitely worth the price (ex, steak was $40, but you could get a burger and fries for $18). Also the cafe was super cute! Great vibes, excellent food, and friendly staff.Secondly, the accomodations: we chose a tipi since we literally just needed somewhere to crash and have all our own camping gear. I had braced myself for the worst, but it was really cool and exactly what it promised to be: a canvas tent with cots in it. They do provide some (somewhat sketchy) blankets, which we did not use since we both had our mummy sleeping bags and pillows and were perfectly comfortable. It rained all night and we didn't get wet but some areas had a few drops in it. No more than if you were camping in a regular tent. Yes, it is a gravel floor. Better than mud.Third, the bathrooms. The people who complained about these clearly have never been camping before? I've been camping all my life. These are flush toilet shared bathrooms with showers just like you would find in any average state park. Yes, there are bugs and mud from people walking in and out. Wear flip flops in the communal shower. Whoever said they are are far walk from the tipis- it took me 20 seconds to walk there from my tipi. My only "complaint" about the bathroom situation is I wish there was also an outhouse since there are only three stalls and at least 20 tipis, plus all the wagons, so if you really gotta go you could end up having a pee pee dance in your tipi!Lastly- what too many people failed to mention. THE INCREDIBLE VIEW! This place is barely 15 minutes from Grand Tetons National Park and overlooks a beautiful river you drive by to get here. I would absolutely recommend staying here and would stay again in a heartbeat.

I went here expecting it to be terrible based on the reviews, and it was. The only reason we stayed here is because it was a good stopping point during our National Parks road trip. We stayed in a tipi and it was absolutely freezing. The tipi flap didn’t fit the entryway into our tipi so there was a gaping hole and we told the front desk and they came and “fixed it” which they actually did not. There were weeds growing in our tipi and I woke up to a massive spider on the tipi wall next to my head. There’s no floor to the tipi, just gravel. The bathrooms were flooded and I had to slosh through water multiple times throughout my stay. The bathrooms aren’t clearly marked for which gender they are for because they leave the doors open so I had a man come in and change his clothes while I was trying to get out of the shower. The only good part was the horseback riding and the view of the Tetons when walking to my tipi.

This place and Heart Six Ranch are basically the same place except by name. The wagons that we lived in were dirty and the floor had lots of dust. The air in the wagon smells terrible because there is no circulation besides leaving the zipper door open. There were black specks on the blanket of the queen bed so it must not have been cleaned properly. One of the blankets for the queen bed is actually a sleeping bag. The entire wagon is extremely cold at night because the only heater barely emits any heat despite being on the highest setting. I thought the close location of the heater to the blanket would be a fire hazard, but that is not a problem since the heater doesn't work at all. In addition to the the heater not working, the bunk beds are also not warm enough to last through a Summer night when temperatures drop to 40 degrees because only one thin blanket is provided. We asked for another heater to replace ours but they said that they didn't have enough and couldn't add another one because it would overload the circuit. The bathrooms and showers are completely filthy. I understand that they are communal, but the staff should at least clean it once in a while. There is even mold growing on the along the edges of the shower. The stairs inside of the wagon are also dangerous because they don't tape a yellow "caution" line along the steps to warn you.Overall, this place is a dump and I would not recommend anyone to stay here unless you don't care about cleanliness and want to live near Grand Teton National Park with 5 or more people in a room to save money.

I happened on the Ranch by gate. It was an outstanding experience! The mushers were so friendly and welcoming. They were doing a great job with very little snow so far this season. The dogs were so sweet and well cared for. I would tell everyone I know to seek out Buffalo Valley Ranch!

everyone who is rating this place bad are just people who have obviously never been camping before. reminder: its a dude ranch, not a pinterest wagon / tipi glamping experience! all the bad reviews i read were very unfair, do not trust them!! i stayed in the wagon and the beds were comfortable, blankets were heavy, and there was a heater in there for the room at night. it was better than i was expecting! the horse rangling was also cool to see. overall the place is good and comfortable, all my interactions with staff were friendly and professional, and the price and veiw is great.edit: ppl complaining about the bathrooms, im confused to what you expected? my only complaint was the showers and toilet sharing a room, since it then took awhile if you just had to use the restroom. but to everyone complaining about the cleanliness of them, of course they arent gonna be super clean all of the time, thats borderline impossible to do. with people constantly tracking mud in from their shoes the staff can’t really do much about the floors. tip: just wear footflops in the shower and your fine

Very difficult to know where to check in. While looking for the office I was rudely told to move because the horses were coming through like I was supposed to know that on my first visit. We had a tipi and they had low lying cots. The cots do not come with sheets, which would be ok if you were informed of this beforehand. You have to pay an extra $20 for bed linen. Also, no pillows are provided even for rent. Staff were very friendly. Shower and toilet facilities are clean but limited . The restaurant on site is very expensive ($5 for a cup of coffee) but food is good. Very dusty location but has great views.

We stayed for a night on our way to Yellowstone at the end of the season. We got in after check-in closed but they left linens (blankets, towels, sheets) and instructions to get to our tent. The man at check out the next morning was super nice, as was the staff member at the Buffalo valley cafe. We ordered coffee and the buckshot scrambler - it was delicious.Warning - if you are not staying in a cabin, this is camping. You are sleeping in a makeshift tent, you need to be prepared!

People must not understand what they are getting when they book here. If you go in with the mentality of camping and are prepared for the weather it was great! Beautiful location and really different and fun experience. But no, the maid isn’t coming around and the butler probably hasn’t been seen in awhile. It’s basically camping and camping is dirty sometimes and cold! Be prepared and have fun!

Very reasonably priced for such a great experience! They have wagons, tipis, and cabins to choose your sleeping experience. Wonderful views from the ranch. They also have horse rides!

We wanted to stay in a teepee, after camping in a tent for a week, as we thought it would be a novel experience. However, as other people have commented upon, the experience was an awful and disastrous one. We paid $100 (CAD) per night for a soaking wet bed, puddles on the floor and no option to make a fire. It was 5°C/ 40°F. When we made management aware, they told us a refund would be issued in the morning. As all the other teepees were equally as flooded, we couldnt stay there and therefore we had to find alternative accommodation 2 1/2 hours away. In the morning, the refund was refused.

Ate at the Buffalo Valley Cafe for lunch. We used to live next door to it for twenty-five years and it was a great place for locals in Buffalo Valley to meet. Great food, company & service. Boy, has it gone down hill. Three sandwiches for $65 and then $9 for 3 glasses of plain water - never been charged for water before. Fries were cold and sandwiches mediocre- nothing to write home about. Sat in their enclosed porch with flies galore, dirty baseboard heaters and windows. No more table service - order everything at the counter. When the food came, we asked for silverware & napkins and was simply told that everything was inside. Sadly, after 25 years of patronage, never again.

We rented a wagon. We knew it would be a tent but did not know it had holes in it large enough for furry animals to join us. My highly cat allergic child woke up in a panic to a cat curled up in bed with him. We removed the cat putting it outside and it appeared again getting in bed with him. We watched and saw he was entering though an area of the wagon large enough for animals to enter. We ended up stuffing this with pillows and blankets. If you don’t like cats, don’t book at this place. We shared our concerns with the desk, not asking for a single thing other than to make them aware of the holes and we were greeted with an extremely rude individual who could not care less that we had to medicate our son due to this cat. I explained my concerns are that my child on last cat exposure had a collapsed lung and was hospitalized for 3 days, and that he is not just an itchy eyes kind of allergy. The owner continued to have no concern, was extremely rude and dismissive. DO NOT STAY here if you have allergies or ANY kind or are concerned about cats, or any other animal who finds its way getting in bed with you.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE - YOU'D BE SAFER SLEEPING ON A DIRT FLOOR. We booked a wagon, knowing full well it would not be a hotel experience, but more like camping. We are very used to roughing it. On arrival we found used tampons and food waste throughout the cabin (though we'd been warned to not leave traces of food or even toothpaste in the wagon for fear of bears), and the common-use bathrooms were utterly repulsive. None of the 6+ sockets in our wagon worked - so we were without electricity (which was listed as an amenity in the wagons) and no way to charge our phones. At 10:10 pm we were looking for water, but discovered the only source of potable water was inside the restaurant, which closed at 10 pm. But we had a glimmer of faith that this could all be resolved.... So the next morning we told the staff about our problems, who told us they had "put them in the system". At the end of the day we returned and found that we still did not have electricity (they hadn't even tried to fix it) and that the bathrooms had never been cleaned and were even more foul than the day before. Due to the simply revolting conditions of the wagon and the common areas, we decided we could not stay there another night and left, having to pay for other last-minute lodgings. We informed the staff that we were leaving due to these circumstances and were not spending more than 1 night there (out of the 3 nights we had booked), and they told us to write an email asking for a refund for the 2 nights not used, as only "upper management" could issue it. After 15 days, multiple phone calls and emails, we have not received an answer. I am a travel writer and have stayed in hostels, 1-star hotels, and the cheapest of B&Bs across the world, and I have NEVER IN MY LIFE encountered a place as disgusting as this.

What an absolutely amazing experience! I stayed in a teepee mid June and it was perfect. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. The restaurant was delicious (a little overpriced but worth it). I will 100% be back.

The wagon was what we had expected inside. They are VERY close to the other wagons. The heater didn't work, but we also didn't ask to see if they could fix it. We've been camping before and know what to expect with shared bathrooms/showers, but these were disgusting. They were still disgusting, even when we used them in the morning as the staff was leaving from having cleaned them.

Stayed in Tipi for two nights. No Glamour Camping at all here. I booked with a picture of a queen bed in Tipi. After booking and a call to office, picture is now gone. What we got was a gravel floor, no chair, end table, no power, or any element except 4 twin size cots not regular bed height but were six inches off the ground. Mud everywhere including bathrooms and showers. Bathrooms greatly in need of repair and service. Not close to a single star experience, and no Glamour camping. Sorry.

I wish i could give zero stars. Horrible experience! Do not waste your money. Our family froze in a wagon with 37 degree temps outside. I have 4 small kids. The linens they provided did not keep us warm. Website advertises that wagons have heaters. I called to verify this, before making reservation. We get settled into wagon only to find out heater doesn’t work. I had to walk quite a ways to get phone service to call front desk to let them know about heater not functioning. 45 min later, someone came out to assess. Said they couldn’t do anything to fix heater tonight. Only offered portable small heater. That did not hold any warm temp. Was more like a fan, only circulated cold air. We did not sleep at all. It was freezing and my kids woke up crying all night, due to cold temps. Not to mention, bathrooms are disgusting. I can’t believe this place passed inspections. We basically paid $170 to camp one night with bathroom facilities that are so nasty, you don’t want to use them.As soon as front desk was open, i went up there to complain. Terry told me he would refund out money and all he had to do was ‘send an email’ to expedia. which he said he would do that morning. I called expedia and was told no email was sent but that expedia would email ranch requesting refund. I called back and talked to thomas who told me he had no authority to check emails and that i needed to talk to terry. Terry told me i needed to talk to thomas. Thomas said he can’t refund me because manager is in back country. What a joke. I am clearly getting the run-around and working with people that don’t care about being honest in their service or work. Don’t be fooled. Spend the money and go somewhere better. You’ll be glad you did.I am turning this place in to county for health inspections and better business bureau for dishonest advertising.

We stayed in a tipi and it was perfect for us and our dog. It is quite literally a tipi with a gravel floor and 4 cots with a small quilt, nothing more nothing less, but it works. We did chose to pay to use linens for $20, which came with sheets and towels. It was nice to sleep somewhere where we had access to bathrooms and we didn’t have to set up our own tent. Make sure to bring your own pillow, they are not provided, nor are they available for rent I believe.4 stars only because of the pet fee. Seems kind of silly to charge a pet fee when sleeping in something with a gravel floor and doesn’t require extra cleaning. I would have understood the fee if it was a room that you had to sweep or vacuum, but gravel? Just doesn’t make sense to me, but I guess it doesn’t have to.I would recommend this place for anyone that’s looking for a rustic west experience. Also comes with a great view of the Tetons!
