What a brilliant, friendly place. Amy and Danny are amazing hosts and the interior looks great. The burgers were delicious, with the western burger as our favourite. Very child friendly!

The burgers here are very unique in taste with the spicing that is done. I loved it! The bartender was really cool and the atmosphere was very comforting after dealing with the bustle of Cody. Go here if you don't want to wait forever for food!

Great place! Came in for drinks and dinner after a day of hunting. We all had the Ribeye special. Each were perfectly cooked with great flavor. Beers were ice cold, and the apple pie was amazing.Been years since I was hear last, and the owners have changed. But I hear the pizzas are still amazing so we will be back in a couple days to give them a try.

Great History here, the owner Karen is an amazing woman, and very kind. The pizza is outstanding, and scores an 8.7 on my scale. Burgers and other items on the menu are very affordable! Great bar and restaurant for anyone.

Rustic and authentic, as a small town establishment should be. We had a late breakfast at the Cafe. They serve a generous portion.Our server proved friendly, which is a big plus for a people person, such as I. She kept the coffee flowing and paid attention to requests.Would live to give five stars, but its a simple setting, not too fancy. However, this is my kind of place. Loved hearing the locals banter as they dined.I would definitely return here if I had the chance.

Wonderful little bar!!! Very Friendly staff and owners. The history alone is worth the visit. A few famous and infamous patrons include Amelia Earhart and Butch Cassidy. It’s also rumored to have a few ghosts hanging about! The pizza is the best in the county.

Have had one bad experience after another over the last year. From getting wrong order, extra long wait time during slow time, gross soggy pizza, major attitude from staff, running and signing credit card without permission, to trying to charge $53.00 for a (maybe $20) box of wine. Will Never go back. Sad too. Used to be my favorite spot in town. I do have to say, the most recent bartender was good. I'm sorry I don't know her name. (Maria?) And Hilton was always wonderful as well.

Where do I start? This tiny town is bursting with hospitality.My husband and I have stopped at Double-D diner a few times when traveling through Meeteetse. Such nice little place for home-cooked breakfast with such a sweet lady that owns and runs the place. This time it was closed. Right about the time we were going to leave, another lady walked up to open the bar next door. When I asked her about Double-D, Karen with The Cowboy Bar explained that Double-D didn’t survive the COVID shut-downs (another small business destroyed). She offered to cook us breakfast instead! I didn’t want to put her out, but I’d also rather spend my money with an independent business, so we took her up on her offer.We decided to pick up some chocolate across the street at the Meeteetse Chocolatier and allow her some time to get situated for the unexpected guests. Karen was so easy and fun to talk with and treated us like family immediately. Meaning, she started cooking and told us where the cups and ice were to get our water. We loved the experience and thoroughly enjoyed our time talking with Karen. We also got to meet Annie, who is her cook primarily I believe. Another very nice lady, though she stayed busy in the kitchen most of the time.After our meal, Karen mentioned that they also make their own dough and pizza’s. I've read good reviews and can’t wait to go back to try one. We also got to meet Karen’s husband briefly. He told us about an RV park he’s building just up the road. We drove through the construction and it appears there are electric and water hook-ups. We enjoy Meeteetse every time we drive through. I so glad that next time we’ll be able to stay there for a few days in our camper. It'll be fun to hang out there again and enjoy the company; like visiting old friends.As with most small towns, we got to talking with another couple in the restaurant that was traveling through town. This doesn’t usually happen in big cities.

Really, I would minus stars if it were allowed. I got the chicken strips, gravy and fries. Bland gravy, gross chicken batter, too salty with the fries. Hubby got a western burger and fries which was way overdone. We didn't eat it...we just paid and left. Zero couth bartender will drive business down, no paying customer wants to listen to this. There are other choices for food, just next door. We would highly recommend checking them out and skipping the cowbow bar.

Great place for lunch or drink after driving thru the desert from the south. Also Karen the owner is very friendly and a great hostess. If you have an RV they also have a very nice and new park just to the south of town. Highly recommend

Great stop next to SonRise Grass Creek Guest Ranch. Super nice staff and fun historic building. Drink prices are very reasonable. Try the homemade chicken strips...wow!

We have been in Meeteetse for 3 weeks and have been to Cody for a “nice” dinner. I will saw that even though I had the grilled chicken salad and my Hubby had a cheeseburger, what we had at the Cowboy Bar and Grill was extremely better then the high priced meals we had in Cody. Excellent.

The girl behind the bar was very rude. At least to me but not my husband. By the sound of her smacking her lips and sigh I gathered she didn't like it that I ordered ice tea (she had to go to attached cafe to get). IDK. Then upon delivering it I asked if there was sugar. She returned with the container that she dropped down on the bar in front of me. On the plus side my husband's diet pop and chicken wings were very good and delivered without a problem.

Stopped in for lunch today. I had the chicken strips with cream gravy. We started with jalapeno poppers. Everything was very tasty. Will definitely come again.

Went to the cowboy bar on a night I was passing through Meeteetse and had the privilege on meeting either the bartender or bar back (not sure which role was his, and I’m not sure he new either..) Justin. He insisted that I called him Rocky because of his upbringing in a boxing gym and his obsession with Rocky Marciano. He served me and my girlfriend drinks for about 2.5 hours while telling us about the history of the Cowboy bar and his secret plans on escaping this one horse town as soon as his first book was finished being published. He then pressured us into ordering the bars pizza. Said is he could he would get Dave Portnoy from barstool sports out there to review because he was so certain he would score it a 10. All in all, the conversations where great, the moral was intact with the mid west and the bartender/bar back from Ohio made the whole experience a perfect 10. Not sure when we’ll be back, but if we’re ever out this way again, Cowboy Bar will definitely be a must. We sincerely hope and wish the very best for Justin “Rocky” from Ohio a blessed and promising future.

Today we watched the eclipse from outside the Cowboy Bar in Meteetse. The owner was so welcoming. There were more than a dozen friends and customers out there who welcomed two strangers. What a great place.

This place is a great "gem" in meeteetse wy...and a must stop for anyone on their way to Cody or Yellowstone.. Dan and Karen Will treat you like family and the food is great... try their home made pizza and desserts!!
