I went to this store looking for a necklace as a souvenir for my time in Wyoming. I found a small one and was told it was silver, bear claw, turquoise, and coral. Price $130. I didn’t have any methodology of testing any of this so I took the woman on her word. When I got it home I used different acids and acetones to test the materials as I’m a scientist by trade. The “silver chain” is a cheap alloy. The turquoise is a lesser stone dyed. The “silver” setting is a very cheap metal and, curiously enough during my testing, a previous price of $36 was revealed on the back, likely written in a permanent marker leaving a permanent discolored area. The “bear claw” is painted acrylic. Well painted acrylic… but acrylic. I’m very let down and very disappointed to have been taken by a small town store.

Don't miss Blue Heron, between Lander and Riverton, WY.
