This store is completely over crowded. There is hardly any room to walk throughout the store, and this is hardly an issue compared to the conditions of the environments that the animals must endure. The glass terrariums are always filthy, the animals hardly look prosperous and the store smells horrible. The prices would be understandable if they matched the quality of the animals. Unfortunately it does not seem as though there is ever a thought that goes into maintaining a clean living space for the animals or a clean store.

The people are very friendly. They have a really good selection of animals. However, like the below people say, the animals are sick and in bad condition. I don’t know how it is possible to run a business this way. It makes me very sad to see the suffering that you can feel when you walk in. Wanted to get a ferret, but couldn’t do it because it would just get replaced with another. Spent the extra $100 at Petco instead. I sure hope they can learn give better care so that they can have more sales down the road. Keeping positive that things will get better.

Love this store! The owners are well knowledgeable about the animals they have and love it when people come in and say hi to their birds! I get all my items for my own bird from them and no where else. I love these guys so much! Go check them out and enjoy the knowledge they share!

Only reason I didn't give this one star is because they were very friendly people.Otherwise...this place needs to be either shutdown, rearranged and then reopened with some new staff...or they need to sell what they have and get out of the business. The animals are being kept in horrid conditions. I'd really like to say that I bought two animals...but it was more of a rescue effort. The animals in cramped, filthy conditions. Some of the tanks you couldn't even see in due to the amount of filth on the glass. Incorrect feeding and horribly incorrect care of the animals all around. The only one that might have gotten the right care was the pet parrot. If you can't keep the tanks clean and keep the animals healthy...don't have a pet store. I have 9 tanks I care for personally and they are clean, sanitary and the animals are well fed and cared for. If I could I would go buy the whole store just so I could make sure the animals are cared for. Also, we went there because someone in a group had mentioned they had a dead Ball Python and a nearly dead one sitting in tanks still. The one that was alive was about to suffocate due to stuck shed. Luckily they were able to save him and get him to a proper home.

if i could give this place no stars i would, apparently hillcrest “pampered” pets has had THREE animal neglect charges. this place needs to be shut down immediately!

People are nice, but the cages are so disgusting. Snakes cages are filled with feces, rats are piled on top of each other in small glass cages, and everything is cluttered and messy. Rat, hamster and other animals cages are all over the floor and it smells as if none of the cages have been cleaned in months

It smells horrific in here. The animals are not getting taken care of. They need to be shut down. And if you tell the owners that they need taken care of, they call you names and kick you out.

Absolutely horrible. I don't know how this place is still open. The critters were in tiny, nasty cages. Multiple of each in cages too small for even one of them. This place needs to but shut down ASAP.

Love this pet store. I like the selection of pets and of course playing with the puppies Is never a bad time. We only get our pet supplies here.
