The meat department came up with a new way to age beef ribs!!! The first time I seen this pack of ribs with the vacuum seal broke was three weeks ago,they are still the same color an not moldy!!!! Only 72$an something cents. One heck of a deal for for wet aged beef ribs.. there used to be two doors at the entrance,now only one!!!!! The store is so smart doing this,everyone is always in such a hurry... creating that bottle neck; has made people slow way down. An has Givin people a chance to per say "stop an smell the flowers." For a lack of a better way to say it. Also the store has figured out a way to stop the over population of chickens by using the extremely young small chickens for the hot deli selections,an smart enough to know that baby cow meat (veal) is more expensive than full grown cow meat. So they have applied that theory towards the rotisserie baby chickens!!!!! That being said whoever has come up with these ingenious ideas,I commend you I'm quite sure you have made your grandparents an parents proud!!!!!!!! Keep your awesome deductive thinking skills!!!!!!!!!!

Nice clean store. Well stocked. Not too busy on this Friday morning. Plenty of parking available. Their gas prices are very competitive with other places in town. No one working there is wearing a mask. Most customers did not have a mask on. Not COVID aware.

These guys have got a great selection of meats and fresh fruits which I greatly appreciate I work in the oil field I'm a crude oil truck driver so I'm living in my truck and this makes for quick meals thank you

Decent selection of goods. Employees are all masked at this time. Can use Safeway members card for discounts, but you will find most items will be priced higher than larger Wyoming cities. Big parking lot with fuel center.

October 5, 2023 - 9:30 Girls working Starbucks - A+ and coffee was fantastic. Gentleman restocking cheese deserves an A+ and very helpful and friendly. Deli staff totally failed. No meats or cheeses already sliced so went to counter to get some cut. Two employees looked at me twice and walked by me twice without asking if I needed anything. I rarely have any luck getting help at the Douglas WY Safeway deli. Lady working self checkouts was very friendly and asking if I needed help with anything.

Took forever to get my Western Union pick up. Had to wait nearly 60 minutes for the PIC. To give me my money sent to me, it actually hurt my reputation this institution was so slow on processing my payment to me, I received it but SAFEWAY needs to invest in their people so their stores are staffed with people who are qualified to help. That being said, there are some great individuals working at this location. However, they are limited by their position. The labor union should really look at this store as this is a very segmented isolated instance and maybe it could be a beta model to help transition local communities and give more charitable resources to those who are making an earning. The people that are there working want more, and cutting people off at the time clock and keeping people part-time isn't a way to run a corporation. This is a complaint against the business and corporate world, not the people, cause at the end of the day IT IS THE PERSON IN CHARGE, that makes the difference for the unionized employees. For small towns, sake do better corporate people.

Don't buy the deli chicken , last 2 times , it's very old just not good the guy told us it had just been cooked so it was fresh , I don't think so ,it cost way too much just to throw it away and have to scramble for something else to feed everyone , wasted money . Wasted time . I did it twice I thought maybe it was just a bad day the first time ok will try again nope just bad., People are friendly however

We did an online order for silder tray and birthday cake. The cake decorator was AMAZING. AMAZING communication before and after. He did an amazing job on the cake. Best cake ever!The deli lost or forgot to make our silders. They did come back and fix it and made it right.We will order again. Everyone went above and beyond

Dear Safeway Regional Management,The Safeway here in Douglas, Wyoming used to be a gem. Since they had a change in management, there has been a huge change. There was a mass exodus of store personnel across the board, from produce, floor personnel, bakery, deli, and cashiers. Several went to the farm and ranch store right next door. From what I have heard from some of them, they are extremely happy there. The employees left at Safeway are extremely overworked. Some stay positive, even when dealing with difficult or angry customers. The bakery and deli employees are cranky and outspoken about their situation. The deli closes at 3:00 pm. No hot food for dinner after 5:00 or bare or empty hot food areas. Even the fried and baked chicken at 3:00 was the dregs of the last batch cooked. For some reason, they cannot find people who want to work at the Safeway grocery store here in Douglas. They used to bring in staff from other Safeway stores. If there were any employees at other Safeway stores in Wyoming, it would be wonderful if they would come to work here in Douglas for a while. The store is clean and, for the most part, the shelves are well stocked.In contrast, the pharmacy here seems fine. They have different employees and pharmacists all the time, but have great service, all the time.It is almost 50 miles to Casper for another grocery store, like Albertsons ( which is basically the same as Safeway) or Walmart, but many people here cannot afford to do that. We pretty much have to shop locally, so when the service is bad, it is not a pleasant experience. I hope something can be done to bring this store back to the way it was, a pleasant place to shop. Even during Covid, the service here was great. When there were supply chain problems here a while back, the service here was good. It is not now because of the lack of employees, and because the employees that are there are so overworked. Can’t something be done?

We don't call it "highway robbery" for no reason. The prices are ridiculous and good luck getting formula if you need it. Went in this morning to find they're STILL out of stock of the brand and kind of formula our son eats. I stay out of this store at all costs oh and did I mention the staff is rude except the baristas and meat dept? Get it together

Overall the overall experience was fairly pleasant. The store was clean as well as parking lot outside. My only complaint was that there needs department was very empty and also the lack of employees available

We have found some cool ethnic foods here on occasional (generally unavailable elsewhere in Wyoming). Some of the staff go above and beyond in being helpful. Have had several issues with pricing over the years, I do wish I didn't have to be so vigilant to make sure their sales ring up properly. Have also had to go to customer service to get partial refunds on a few items I missed prior to paying. Not a big deal but it does add up; living so far from civilization it can be a bit of a time sink if I still have a long drive ahead of me or an appointment. Mostly positive experience overall.

Was there on a bad snow day, so it was very busy. The staff were friendly enough and helpful, and unlike Walmart actually had cashiers in all their aisles. Reason for lower rating is the limited availability of goods. Not that they were understocked, but finding items other than general bare bones amentaties is not an option

We're traveling and I give my dog a special treat of a raw boneless skinless chicken thigh (usually frozen). I only needed one and catered to me and took just one out for my pup!!! Their meat department rocks!!! Thank you!!!

This store is dirty, every square inch needs wiped down. No one seems to care either. The deli has employees but they can't help you due to short staffing. Ya I don't understand that one. Uggg.

Store is clean every time I go in, Store staff is fine I've never had any issues with them, Prices are outrageous... The price gouging because of the oil field is blatant with chicken being almost double per pound than walmart but when they know you're making six figures and don't want to spend 3 hours going to walmart 50 miles away 🤷‍♂️

Nice employees. However, I was very dismayed that Safeway did not remove the snow and there was several inches of slush and ice on the ground making it very difficult to bring my groceries back to the car. I will not be going back to this location during times when snow is on the ground.

This was where we got groceries when we came to town August 21, 2017 for the total eclipse. It was a nice grocery store and the staff were very friendly. We got a lot of cheese to snack on while we stared at the sun. Every moment of that day was magickal, so I remember this Safeway with a special fondness

Regularly out of common produce & sale items, and understaffed at the registers. If Safeway wants us to keep our business local then there should be more effort to ensure our basic needs are met consistently.
