Such a beautiful place and a wonderful two night stay. If you are looking for a quiet peaceful place on the river just minutes from downtown Cody with a breath taking 20 minute drive, book here. I was not disappointed at all!Rooms: Nice western themed rooms.

THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!!!We stayed here in early July. The listing description is VERY misleading. Completely over ran by weeds, hadn’t been mowed in quite some time. Beautiful drive, but that is thanks to nature and not this place. No privacy or black out curtains, so sunlight comes in at the butt crack of dawn and all the way until the sun sets.No tv, which is okay, they had WiFi but she never gave me the WiFi password. You cannot fish from here. The river is down a steep 20ft. Embankment. There is no restaurant and absolutely nothing to do at this cabin, except try to sleep with the sun beaming in every single window. I wouldn’t suggest staying here with kids unless the only thing you want them to do is pick up trash that is littered around the cabin. There is a private house above the “lodge” I’mPretty sure it is the owners husband and maybe sister, after doing some Facebook research. Very roof and not helpful. Cabin sleeps 6, but towels and wash cloths were only available for 3. Couldn’t get ahold of the owner for issues, even though she sent a text with directions and said “please reach out if you need anything”. I went the room above the lodge and they were rude and not helpful. About an hour after speaking with them, a girl came over with 6 towels, no wash cloths and said the owner has spotty service since she owns a restaurant in cody. Unacceptable. I eventually got ahold of her later the next day through email. And explained my concerns. She will make every excuse possible for everything you mention and then say she sends the WiFi password in the confirmation email. No you didn’t because I was replying to the confirmation email and there is no password. She did tell us if we were pleased, we could happily vacate the property, which we did. Don’t waste $400 a night on just someplace to lay your head and an owner who doesn’t care about her patrons. I was able to get ahold of my credit card company and hoping to get refunded for the nights I didn’t stay there. SCAM!

This place lives up to its name Cutthroat. While cutthroat is a type of trout, it describes perfectly the lack of customer care and substandard accommodations. Booked online a few hours before we arrived. We drove up very dark and windy dirt roads to find electric not working and no key to lock when we would leave. Tripped on uneven entrance, cancelled immediately by text and phone with no response. Finally, Cutthroat Ranch returned my call back the next day with an argumentative attitude. We didn’t stay there. They refused to cancel reservation, said my bad luck!

What a disaster this place was! On site restaurant sounded good and rooms looked fine in pictures. On the day of our arrival we received a text message that the restaurant was closed. The text indicated that we should find the unlocked room and there would be a key in the room. Got there and there was no key in the room. The main light did not work, only a small desk lamp for light. The room smelled so strongly of some sweet odor that it turned our stomachs. Tried calling the contact number...no answer and a full voice mail. We left and are trying to get our money back from our credit card company. Found out through research that they are trying to sell the place. All this for $600 wasted dollars.Stay away from this "guest ranch".

It was one of very few options for me to go for dinner. It was very difficult to find even though I knew it was hard to find. I only ate at the restaurant, didn't stay at the ranch. Loved the interior decorations. Had a bear skin on one wall. It had knotty pine walls with a moose head mounted and a fireplace. The service was excellent. Waitress was very attentive. I had a bourbon fried chicken sandwich. A huge fried chicken breast with bourbon sauce, and french fries. Wonderful! It was pricey, but there was live entertainment on the deck

We went here on a night with a guest musician, and made reservations a couple hours prior. We had a burger and a fish sandwich. Both delicious, generous portions, served piping hot. I enjoyed their natural cut fries. Our server was quick and attentive for how busy they were. BUT LET ME TELL YOU the carrot cake was amazing. So delicious. Worth every calorie. It was a huge slice we shared, but I still want more. So refreshing to find a restaurant in the Big Horn Basin with good food and service- the combination is not all too common.

Mice infested place. Had mice running around our unit and they would climb the curtains and bunk beds. Packed up that night and stayed in Cody.Rude servers and as a guest you are treated less than and locals are top priority.2X’s eating there was a big disappointment as steaks were under/rare and same with burgers.Little concerned when guy dancing has his firearm fall onto floor, grateful it did not go off.My hospitality experience has left me with the thoughts of how can they be in business. We did not matter!

We needed a reasonably priced place to rest for the night on the Eastern side of Yellowstone NP and this place was perfect! We had a late arrival/early departure and Courtney provided excellent customer service, directions and also recommendations for dinner/breakfast. Place was clean and comfortable and I'd certainly stayed longer in the future. It also was much closer to YS than going all the way into Cody so we were very glad about that. Didn't take any pics but the ones on there website are accurate. Highly recommended lodging here and if u get there earlier than we did, I hear their restaurant is excellent too!

I only met one owner, Courtney: busy, on the ball, prompt. The view is nice and the rooms are quaint. The restaurant is busy; they hired live musicians for the weekend which I enjoyed. The food was good; wine list could use an upgrade. Good experience overall!

Awesome!! My wife and I stayed 3 nights in the large cabin and 1 night in the smaller cabin, both very clean and very nice with spectacular views! We didn't get a chance to eat at the restaurant which we really wanted to do but because we brought so much food we just cooked in the cabins.Owners are very polite, helpful and easy to get ahold of. Will definitely be back and highly recommend!

On vacation from Wisconsin and were told we had to try the Cutthroat Guest Ranch Restaurant and HOLY YES they were right. Food was incredible! 5 of us ate 5 star food for an incredible price. Service was amazing, drinks were very reasonably priced, and I will be recommending this place to anyone I know who ventures near Yellowstone!P.S. we did not stay here. But I can only imagine the stay would have been great too!

Gosh, where to start. The owner messaged us directions at 4:30 ( even though check-in is at 4). I never got this message as i am an international guest and our phones don't work in the US. No email. We tried to phone her from another guests phone, she never answered. We took 45 min to try and figure out which room is ours. We saw a houekeeper once the morning after we had to check ourselves in, and that was it. We didn't see any other staff the entire 3 nights we stayed there. The restaurant was closed. The roomkey was not in our room, so we couldn't lock if we wanted to leave until the next morning when the housekeeper brought it to us. Also no towels. When I emailed the owner she flatout told me she put the key and 4 towels in there herself, thus accusing me of lying. Why I would make something like that up is beyond me. No blackout curtains, and also no way to put off the porch light so a very light room for the entire night. Hot and cold water sides switched around in the bathroom, and no plug thus making the tub unusable. The whole property seems rundown, even the sign is broken and on the ground. Really dirty under the bed. Misleading info and things like " direct river access" where there is none! We were going to check out after our first night but the owner refused to refund us and said she would still charge us for the full 3 nights, so we stayed. Rather go to rand creek ranch, or bill cody ranch - which are actually ranches, because let's face it - it's not a ranch if there is not a single horse in sight! We were also not the only guests that were unhappy!

I stayed there with a group of friends for two days and everything was great - the room was really cosy and clean, the views breathtaking, the owners were really helpful and friendly and the restaurant - just fantastic. The waiter was really nice and friendly and the food ahh, I had the bourbon chicken sandwich with the sweet potato fries on the side and i think it was the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. Summing up, a place really really worth visiting :)

We stayed at Cutthroat as a launching point for visiting Yellowstone. Courtney and her husband were so friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our cute rustic cabin, especially the fireplace and rocking chairs on the porch. We enjoyed walking about the property seeing wildlife and the river. The horses on the property really added to the ambiance. The restaurant on the property is outstanding! Great tender Steak! Great veggies! We thoroughly enjoyed our dinners. We had a wonderful stay!

This is a fabulous place to stay if you are in the Cody or Yellowstone region. Courtney and Randy are some of the nicest hosts every! They really want your stay to be perfect and will help anyway they can. They helped us find hiking trails, gave us tips for the best places in Yellowstone, and helped us with a small injury. Gorgeous views. The food is wonderful as well. The staff is awesome! Bring an extra chair or two for the porch because you will want to sit there and enjoy the river and the sunrise!

DO NOT BOOK HERE. SCAM!! I wouldn’t even give this place 1 star. Booked our stay thru Booking.com. States it is free cancellation. Had to cancel our stay and hotel wouldn’t refund our money. Booked and cancelled many of our hotels through booking.com and never had issues getting our refunds. Courtney the owner was very rude, immature and unprofessional when we finally got ahold of them, Text messages, emails, and phone calls (full voicemail inbox) on Facebook messenger and she was rude and called us names and blocked us. Hope this doesn’t happen to anybody else and booking.com doesn’t support this place anymore. Huge hassle

Though they didn't have their signature pie that night, my son's fish and chips and my step-dad's shrimp scampi were delicious. Both were some of the best I've ever had. The filet mignon I ordered was all right though it had a charred flavor in places. (Not my favorite.) Our server did a fine job but one of the staff yelled to my teenage kids to stop petting this beautiful horse that was near the fence that separated the parking lot and a field. (My kids love animals and we're being gentle with the horse.) Not sure why they weren't allowed to pet the horse or why she couldn't have approached the situation differently but it ended our trip to the restaurant on a bit of a sour note, unfortunately.

We spent my sons 15th birthday at Yellowstone, and this is where we stayed. It was a little less than 30 minutes to the east gate entrance. The staff was very friendly, the room was beautiful. I stayed in bunkhouse C (the rivers edge room) my only suggestion is to either bring you some fishing chairs, or maybe they could invest in a couple more chairs for the porch of the bunkhouse. There was only 2 out there, and trust me, it's so beautiful you'd rather be out on that porch with binoculars than sitting in your room. I was up early both mornings watching the sunrise. Too beautiful.

We had a fantastic meal and the service was phenomenal! Courtney and Randy have built a great business and are very passionate about providing the best experience that can be offered. We can't wait to invite more friends to come enjoy their hospitality with us, they will be very impressed.

It was amazing. The hospitality was top notch. Service was great, drinks were well made. The food was cooked to perfection. Probably the best ribeye in Cody. And the carrot cake, if you like carrot cake theirs will not disappoint I dont know if I have had better. All in all great service and great food and drinks. Worth the little drive from town.

I’m sorry to say that we had a bad experience with Yellowstone Cutthroat Guest Ranch. I booked our reservation by phone, paid the required deposit, and my credit card was charged for the remaining balance 4 days before our scheduled arrival date. I never received any confirmation in writing or by text, no receipt, nothing at all until we arrived, at which point Courtney showed me a calendar on which she had jotted the dates of our stay, but she had expected us a day earlier, and she said, it’s ok, we will figure it out. We enjoyed our stay, except for the fact that it was over 90 degrees and we had only a box fan, no central air conditioning, which I should have asked about, but I consider that to be a basic amenity. The fact that there was no tv was understandable. However, at checkout, I asked again about the overpayment and she brushed me off again, saying that she had some bookkeeping tasks to do that day and she would look at it and verify whether we had been overcharged or not. I trusted her to make it right, and handle the situation as a reputable business should. After arriving back home, I gave what I thought was a reasonable amount of time, and sent a text message, no reply. Sent another text message, no reply again. Finally, yesterday, 3 weeks after we completed our stay, I finally got an answer by email saying that I would have to dispute it with my credit card because, being a small business, they rely on a short season, and this year had been particularly hard, and that by asking for a refund which was due to me, that it would in essence be a hardship on the business. It’s such a disappointment when a business doesn’t act with integrity and reliable customer service as they should, and for this reason, I can not recommend this guest ranch. It saddens me to give a bad review, I would much rather have written a lengthy one due to having had a great experience, and had there been any correspondence in writing, there would be no dispute about who was mistaken about the dates discussed in our phone conversation, and the mistake could have been caught beforehand, and resolved without either party losing their hard-earned money. I just feel the whole situation was handled very badly, and very poor customer service, and I ended up losing $234.35, the cost of one night’s stay, which, when averaged out brings the per night cost to 312.46 for the three nights we stayed. I guess Cutthroat accurately describes the type of customer service they practice.

I think Courtney is running a scam. We originally booked in Feb via Booking.com. Courtney called and asked us to book directly thru her so we did. She charged my credit card a deposit on Feb 6. Fast forward to1 week prior to check in and Courtney called to tell me that they had an event and would be unable to provide a room so were cancelling our reservation. This was after she had just charged my credit card again. She said she would refund but it has now been 2 weeks. I have reached out and received no response.

Absolutely amazing stay. We came in in the middle of the night and couldn’t see a thing, and waking up in the morning to the beautiful view was just unforgettable experience. I enjoyed the outside patio every morning having breakfast, and that was my favorite part. In the evening times the main guest house is filling in with diners,Which makes you feel so special that you actually stay in this place. They also have delicious food there. We didn’t have Wi-Fi due to some technical issues for almost 2 days there, but you don’t need Internet when you have such a nice atmosphere around you. The place is only about 15 minutes from Cody, which makes it convenient if you need anything from Walmart or other places. ( there is not much around near the cottage. ). It is about 30 to 40 minutes to the east entrance of Yellowstone. We had stayed there for three nights and had to make this route every day but the road you take is so beautiful, so it shouldn’t be a problem.I would come stay there again.

I'm loathe to leave this property a bad review, but we have tried without success to contact the ranch for a year now regarding a partial refund. To cut a long story short, we booked through booking.com for two nights in July 2020. Upon arrival the room wasn't going to be big enough for all 4 of us, however the owner kindly let us stay in another room they had available for that night. We were assured that if we contacted booking.com they'd be able to authorise a refund for the unused night, however when we called them we were told that actually we needed to contact the ranch directly as they had handled our payment already.Since then we have emailed numerous times, messaged through Facebook, and called without success. Neither can booking.com get through to the property which doesn't fill me with confidence if even they can't get hold of you. The situation is extremely frustrating as there's nothing that can be done until we hear something back.On the plus side - the food at the restaurant was amazing and our room was great, but the lack of communication and customer service would make me think twice about staying again.Edited further to the ranch's reply as I can't respond back on here - the details of our stay are all in the emails we have sent you, we stayed on 6th July 2020. Completely appreciate you wouldn't have wanted to be left with an empty unused room on the 7th, but from our conversation at the time when we checked in, we were told that if we contacted booking.com a partial refund would be authorised. Again, it would be appreciated if you could co-operate with booking.com and respond to our messages.
