This is my 2nd review of this store which I felt obliged to give. The first review pointed out the very poor state of the stores internal layout and cleanliness, however since then they have cleaned the place up quite a bit and hired several new faces. I have yet to meet or deal with an unfriendly or unhelpful employee at this store, although sometimes it can be difficult to find an employee to ask for assistance. The owner doesnt seem to like keeping more than 1 person on staff at any given time, so sometimes your left at the counter waiting for a few minutes before somebody comes to ring you out, a simple bell on the counter could easily fix this problemUpdate: July 3rd 2023. Just watched the ""manager? Melissa" laugh at a frustrated customer as they stormed our the front door in frustration. The reason they were frustrated was because for 5 minutes she patiently waited and asked for help with the self checkout kiosk that has malfunctioned on her. Only to have Melissa stand behind the counter and ignore her plea as Melissa rudely told another employee that they were basically an idiot. After fixing Saud employees mistake Melissa continued to ignore the female customer at the kisok right in front of her. The woman stormed off and said she did have time for this, and Melissa looked directly at me and laughed and said "well". This is the same person for. My posting earlier. Real winner.

When I walk in the door it feels very comfortable and employees always willing to help if needed. The manager is so sweet and goes out of her way to help anyone! The varieties of most things are awesome. Plus I love their sales and clearance items!!

This store has improve drastically under the current manager. The biggest problem here is the other customers put the people behind the counter through hell. I have seen people berate the employees for requesting identification to buy tobacco. The people who work here put up with a lot from some of the people in this town and still try their best.They have THE best deal on toilet paper here too.

I've stop at Dollar General frequently And usually have a very good experience. Tonight was very disappointing. Partly my fault but was treated shamefully. The woman in charge was covered in tattoos at camouflage pants and a big baggy black shirt and she looked like something that you just drug out of the alley. She was very unprofessional. Was very disappointed. And she was rude on top of her bad appearance.

I usually don't come here often but I recently visited to pick up some facial care, I came to realization that most of their bodycare was fairly expensive for something so simple. Later that evening I compared the prices of Walmart and Dollar General and came to the conclusion that what I was specifically buying was more expensive then Walmart even though Walmart had the higher quality. This review basically sounds like I'm complaining and I should have gone to Walmart I just think that overall the prices should be a little bit lower but I do recommend this place to pick up last-minute objects.

First time I ever went to a Dollar General in my life. It wasn't gross at all. The lady in charge was very nice. They had a USB converter that worked when the one I bought from Amazon didn't. And a mouse toy for my niece's cat for one US Dollar. What's not to love?

Really great prices on every day items, including groceries (and wine!) Nice staff, but you might have to wait at the register a bit as they juggle multiple tasks. Make sure to download their mobile app for even better deals.

I'd say 5 for most employees but over the years this DG has had some real "winners" including a manager a few years ago who was promoted out that everyone in town marveled even had the job. Rude, mean, unprofessional, and over- inflated ego.... smoked in the front of the store on the patio set that was for sale and was just as rude and off-putting as she was to her staff. Since she's left the employees are way nicer.... one refused to cancel some things she rung up because there were customers behind me.... how hard is it, or slow is it to ask the mgr for help as a 2nd cashier? The app is nice but I'd suggest some changes.... like why bother scanning your carry when is just going to be scanned again? I can do my own math lolThat said I'm not all complaints lol. The location is convenient and beats IGA prices for the same stuff. The parking, store size, store selection makes this a 1st place run over Walmart. The app DOES give you access to things of coupons and rebates each week and at the till you just enter your phone#ambs your coupons automatically apply. The store is kept cleaner than dollar tree and beats "The Store" for convenience items hands down.

Nice to have the chance to get a few things very cheap. Still I only go there when I absolutely have to. It feels dirty and often employees are unfriendly.I often see others post about sales at their DG. I haven't found any of those at this one.

They have everything I need. The staff is always very helpful and courteous. Also they can usually beat any of the local competitor prices on all the name brand products. If you've never been, it's worth a look

Would be nice if they had 3 people working at all times everytime you go in there is a line to check out or the machines not working or somthing. I believe those workers are under paid and deal with way to much. So why not have 3 underpaid people working so its not so much work.

A friendly little neighborhood general merchandise shop. I shop here at least three times a week. It is great for those quick shopping trips and those last minute items. The staff are always very friendly and helpful.

I used to shop this store because its just a mile away from my house but then I can't stand their staff. specially the manager that wore eyeglasses. very rude and a very bad customer service. I definitely let my family and friends know for what I have experienced to this particular store. will not shop to this store anymore. SO SAD!

Friendly staff and helpful always able too find wht i need everytime. It's like evey time I go in there its like me as the customer is family of the store. So I'm always happy when I go in there. Prices are most reasonable and when the price isnt right they right there too help fix it... I'll be coming back again.

Where I come from (Rothschild), it's hard to find a good place to sit back and relax. That's why whenever I come to Wisconsin Rapids, I HAVE to stop at the Dollar General! They offer a variety of reading material from "sorry you got married" cards to the latest Archie and Jughead comics (I'm still catching up!!) and wow, talk about a quiet, peaceful atmosphere! When you don't want to see or talk to ANYONE, Dollar General is the place to be! In fact, since the aisle ways are not in use, I dream of using the facility for my Olympic training (to be clear, this is not the sporting event, but rather an all you can eat buffet at the Olympic restaurant). This Dollar General sure beats the Three Dollars Roughly store a few blocks down from my shack! Keep up the great work, Dollar General!

Its easy to want to stop here to avoid driving across town to walmart or another store but u will end up paying more to shop here then to just drive the extra mile. Low quality products and high prices.

Meh. It's a Dollar General. Stuff is cheap and staff is polite, but minimum wage helpful. Store is kinda a mess, but everything you would expect to be available is there.

This store is very unorganized & cluttered. I'd much rather the store located on 8th street. I probably will not visit this location again. The staff was friendly but the store is a hot mess
