We were in for an oil change. While there we were told the battery was not charging properly. We had received a letter re this issue. The issue was taken care of. While it took several hours, we had coffee, were shuttled to a few stores and actually enjoyed the sunny afternoon. Thank you again for the good service.

Brought my outback in for an oil change. Talked to the parts manager about replacing some missing wheel well fasteners. Showed him the missing parts. He gave me a price, I agreed and he said he would install the 4 fasteners himself. He did not do the work promised. The oil change went as normal. I have to be able to trust promised work will be completed. Not the case here so I give only 2 stars.

Had a problem with a tire loosing air pressure, they got me in under 3 hours found the problem. They came out to explain it to me and fixed it immediately. They have such outstanding customer service thank you to Liz and Nick who were helpful and awesome personality had made it pleasure to feel so welcome. Thank you

This would be a 4 or 5. The service department has their act together on the front end. But what happens in the back left me rather irritated. I had a suit coat and dress shirt hanging on the back of passenger seat from the head rest that I needed later in the day. The technician was checking my speakers; passenger side rear not working. Apparently, my clothes were in the way. But instead of unhooking the jacket and shirt and laying them on the seat, he just snapped off the plastic coat hangers and left the clothing on the salty and dirty floor in back. He then "tested" the rear speakers by pulling the two rear door panels on each rear door and swapping the speakers. This was not reported to the front end, so when the front started talking with me about the passenger side rear speaker working fine, and the driver side needing to be replaced, it caused some confusion. We called the tech up front. He explained how he tested the speakers. $214 later I was informed I had a bad speaker that needed to be replaced, and a dirty suit coat and shirt. Not cool. Also, there has to be a simpler way to test a speaker by just pulling one door panel.

Greatest experience that I have ever had while purchasing a vehicle. Purchased a 2022 Subaru Forester.Jeff Keller helped me order the vehicle in September. He was friendly, honest, and overall wonderful to work with. Great communication throughout the entire process and did not try to upsell me on features that I did not need but was able to recommend features that may fit my needs. Jeff always responded quickly with great detail and was always kind, even though I emailed ALOT with multiple questions. At delivery, he even secured us with a Subaru Dog toy for our pup and two years of maintenance to sweeten our trade in offer (which was already amazing)!In financing, Rick was incredible to work with. He helped us above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our financing monthly cost. Explained the extra options in great detail explaining the benefits and costs of them all. After making a decisions on extras, he even found extra deals on some of our adding to help bring the cost down. Never felt like he was trying to pressure us into additions, he would have been just as happy if we hadn’t bought any.JJ, the delivery specialist, was amazing. Walked us through all of the features on the 2022 Forester. Being we were one of the first 2022 deliveries this year, he helped answer any questions with an impressive amount of knowledge and spent time to find out answers to any questions that he did not immediately know an answer to (which was extremely rare).At delivery we added on a few extras that needed to be installed. After signing all the paperwork they provided us with a loaner vehicle to allow us to go grab lunch while they finished up the work on the car!My wife, who hates car shopping, has declared in great force that she will only purchase from Kocourek Subaru for any future car purchases after this amazing experience.10/10

I bought my car back in June of 2022 for the 2022 Subaru Legacy Limited that was custom ordered. Originally, I wanted to buy a 2020 Legacy from Kocourek in April of 2020, but due to the car shortage, there was no Legacy that would stay on the lot with the preferences that I wanted; even in a radius, the dealership was not able to pull one in. I then finally found one located at Grand Subaru located in Bensenville, IL. Never will I ever return nor suggest Grand Subaru to anyone, it was a terrible experience on every aspect possible. Therefore, this review is not about Grand Subaru, but I wanted to share how Kocourek tried to go out of their way to pull in a vehicle for me even though they were not successful. Kudos! Anyways, since day one of owning my 2020 Subaru Legacy, I felt that my car was in the shop more than I was driving it, for that, I want to thank George Helt for everything him and his team has ever done for me to make it a memorable experience of trying to fix my 2020 Legacy at Kocourek. It was at that time that I knew the next time I was going to purchase a vehicle, it was going to be from Kocourek Subaru! Roll around to May 2022, I was never intentionally going to buy another vehicle at that time since I just had my 6,000 mile used Legacy from Grand Subaru purchased roughly 2 years ago, but after extensive repairs that it had under the 36,000 mile warranty. I made the decision to purchase a new Legacy, so I could spend more time in my vehicle instead of at the shop or in a rental. Tyler Jensen had helped me customize my 2022 Legacy, by the time that my car came in, Tyler no longer worked with Kocourek so I was transferred to a new representative. I do not remember his name, but everyone I talked to was appreciative and understanding. JJ helped me to the best he could with his knowledge since I practically knew how my car worked since I just upgraded to a newer car. Although, JJ has always been a helping hand in any way possible whenever I have had questions. Lance, in finance, helped lay out all the different options I could chose that would benefit me the most. Another man in sales, had offered me a special deal with Simoniz, which i proceeded with and would recommend this coating a 1000+ times to anyone. My car has yet to show a scratch even after dogs jumping, rocks, and you name it have hit my car. Next, I opted in for the windshield warranty as I have terrible luck with windshields, and for the cost of the warranty was the cost of one windshield for my car. No brainer! Then I also purchased the limited lifetime (unlimited miles) warranty because as one who is traveling and in college, I did not want to be stranded, so it gave me a sense of comfort knowing I was protected. Plus the amount of technology that is in the 2022 Subaru Legacy, is something that most technicians do not want to fiddle with unless they are Subaru certified. Overall, anytime I have ever questioned anything about my Subaru, the service to get an answer is unbeatable and responsive. In other words, build a connection to make a friendship, that is what the Kocourek team resembles in my perspective.After purchasing my 2022 Subaru Legacy Limited, I went to Auto Skinz in Weston, WI to have tinting (4 side windows and rear windshield) and a vinyl wrap (on the roof) done. Here are the pictures! The owner at Auto Skinz made sure the job was done right, and deserves a look if you are in need of tinting, wrapping, etc done.

I recently traded in my 2015 Forester for a new one and I was very impressed with how everyone was so helpful. My salesperson, Jon F., answered all my questions and offered many suggestions to me. The entire staff is great. I will definitely remain a customer and cannot say enough good things about this place.

We had a recall notice and made an appointment to get it taken care of. It was taken care of in a short period of time while we had coffee. And to top it off, we were given a ticket for a free car wash. Who could complain about that kind of service? Good job!

Our agent was extremely pleasant and not pushy. She was very helpful and knowledgeable. She explained the process step by step. She introduced us to every person we would individually talk to, explained what they would help us with. Explained that vehicle was in transport and how long it would be.till vehicle arrived(right on time). Extremely happy with agent and Subaru of Wausau overall.

Having dealt with Kocourek since 1999 (buying several "new Beetles" over the years), there remains a consistent tradition of excellent work and attending to customer needs/ desires. My thanks to Alex in Service and Austin in sales. Definitely thinking now about trading up.

I'm a Subaru owner and have been religious about following the Subaru recommended maintenance schedule to get as much life out of my car as possible. Until recently, I was doing my maintenance at the dealer. During my 90,000-mile service, Kocourek told me I needed to re-seal my oil pan because it was leaking...and they wanted to charge almost $3,000 for it because it would require removing the engine to get at the oil pan.I didn't have a spare $3K laying around (especially during the holidays!) so I called Schierl Tire & Service to see how much they'd charge. They took the dealer's diagnosis at face value and estimated $1800 sight unseen (with a warning that it could cost more if they opened it up and the problem was different or more severe). Given the significantly lower price for the exact same service, I booked the service on the spot. When I took my car in a week later, they weren't confident in the dealer's diagnosis. They cleaned it up, put dye into my system, had me drive for 200 miles, and then had me come back to reassess and figure out what was going on. I was *shocked* when the technican called me back to take a look. There wasn't a drop of oil in sight. No leaky seal, nothing. They didn't charge a penny for this—not even a diagnostic fee, even though they'd looked at my car twice and done the dye service.I'm never going back to Kocurek again. From here on, I'll be heading to Schierel to have them do the recommended maintenance—and probably at a fraction of the price. They've proven themselves trustworthy, whereas Kocurek hasn't.

Bought a used Forester with an extended warranty. Kocurek repaired the car and provided a loaner. The service rep was fantastic. I know and trust the mechanic who did the work. The general manager was even greeting people in service department. Thank you George!!

Recently in an accident, told my rims were bent needed new ones and they did a review of the car. Same noise same unsafe vibration in the front of the car, will never go back!

I know that my review is a small fishing a big pond but these guys deserve a HUGE shout-out! This is, hands down the best place I've ever been to for a vehicle. My wife's car crapped out and she needed a new one. They helped us find an awesome car and a payment plan that worked for us. I was blown away with how much they helped! There was nothing wrong with my car but I trade it in about a week later and it was only $10 a month than what I was paying. Totally worth it!

I have a 2019 Outback 3.6 Touring (my 3rd and last Outback) It has either a parasitic power drain or malfunctioning controller. I have taken it to 3 dealerships, and none can find the source. I am on my 4th battery in 30 months and have been stranded many times. Every dealership acknowledges knowing about the problem with this model, mentioning the DCM as possible cause.The issue that I asked Kocourek to address was that the valet key never worked, so that with every dead battery, I had to have a locksmith or policeman break into my car.This was not under warrantee, but Mike said he'd see what he could do. Lizz said to come in and she'd make it right.I went in and they did fix it, charging me full price. They also charged me $6.50 for a fob battery I didn't want. Be aware they also charge a fee for using a charge card.So, aside for no follow through on the sweet talk , the service department did fix the problem quickly.I sent an email before posting this, but got no response.Subaru has failed to be responsible for this defect.Kocourek overall service was average.

Their express oil change is a joke. Twice I have been in for one only to drive away without an oil change. Both times being on Friday. Once they said no because they had no one there due to illness. I'll give them that one. Three days ago I was told there was no one there because they were all at lunch. Service? Lunch? Why not stagger lunch time. I am going to trade my 2020 Subaru Outback in for a new Ascent but not here. Two stars is generous.

Have the same window issue that I have gone in to fix and paid money for the service. Mind you this is my 4th time going in for the same driver side window that was already "fixed". Had to go back 2 times after for the supposedly fixed window. After this last time they wanted to charge me again for the same exact problem that I already paid for and charge me again to fix. Waste of my time and money let's hope I can get a better subaru dealership to work on my vehicle and actually resolve my window issue instead of paying mechanic's to not fix the problem. Customer service is not great anywhere but I don't know what it is about the Wausau dealerships I do not recommend!

I brought my Outback in for a window problem, knowing I had a extended warranty. I was skeptical if my window problem would be covered. George was my front line employee who listened to my issue. He went above and beyond to make sure my window issue was covered and fixed in a very quickly manner. A free car wash to boot. I am extremely happy with the resolution. Subaru needs more employees like George!

Just got my very first Subaru from this wonderful dealership. Their response time was fast and immediate. I was able to get my vehicle on time as promised for the price I want. I even got the trade-in value on my old car I wanted. Patrick was always fast to reply and keep me informed while JJ gave me a head to toes once over my car that made me fall in love with the car. Financing was fairly easy. I feel like we flew through the purchase process at lightning speed. Definitely will return in a few years.

Nick was WONDERFUL in finding us a car!! He was patient and kind the whole time, and found a car that is perfect for us! We definitely recommend him in any car purchases. We did have to sit there for hours to (almost) be told we couldn’t take the car home that day but they worked with us and we still got to bring it home with the condition of bringing it back to officially sign off on it the next weekend which was a bit inconvenient because we live two hours away. Timing just wasn’t great on that! BUT still a great experience overall and we recommend to anyone wanting to buy a car, just get in early so you don’t have to worry about banks closing 🤣 Subarus are amazing!

I went here to get my first car. i built up my credit and worked very hard found the perfect car for me. Everything happened super fast and I was assured nothing was wrong with the car. Less than 12 hours later the infotainment center went out. After that communication was extremely poor and it took 3 months to get it fixed (i was in a rental for 3 weeks after being able to drive my new car for less than a week). When I voiced my fustration on the fact that I was assured nothing was wrong with the car and it was taking so long to fix these issues I was told “well at least it will be fixed and you wont have to worry about it again” on an issue i shouldve never had to worry about in the first place. To add insult to injury while I was without my car (it was just sitting in a shop waiting for delivery of the new part) I was sent an email asking for me to recommend Kocourek to family members and friends. Not a great experience at all.

I ordered a 2024 Crosstrek Limited with Kocourek Subaru after having the chance to test drive a 2021 at Kocourek Chevy, as their Subaru location had no vehicles available to test drive when we drove two hours down to look. It should have been a pretty easy sale for them as I did the build online, emailed it to them, and all they had to do was place the order and accept delivery.Unfortunately, the entire process dealing with them was disappointing from start to finish. Communication was poor and many of the order updates I had to reach out to them for or ask about after seeing them on My Subaru. We were finally able to set up a pick-up day 1 ½ weeks after the vehicle was delivered and much of the same poor customer service continued; we waited past our appointment time, the vehicle had tape residue all over it, the plates ended up momentarily misplaced, etc. The saving grace at Kocourek, and for the entire day, was JJ, the delivery specialist. He went over everything in the vehicle and was incredibly funny, kind, and knowledgeable. He managed to boost the mood for the day a bit.While we were waiting at the end of the day to get our plates and leave, Luke, the sales manager, approached us with a piece of paper talking about how they hoped they provided excellent customer service and to contact them if they didn’t. We explained to him how disappointed we were with everything we experienced, he asked how they could make it right, and offered that we could go out for a nice dinner and send him the bill. We immediately declined that offer and quite frankly found it rather absurd and insulting. We just recommended that maybe in the future when they have a customer who has ordered something and is a guaranteed sale that they give them the same customer service a purchaser who they are still trying to make a sale to gets.I would not recommend Kocourek Subaru to anyone I know, and if I would have known things would have played out this way, I would have purchased from one of the other Subaru dealerships that would have only been a 30 minute further drive for us than Kocourek was. The only reason I am giving two stars versus one is solely because of JJ.
