We loved visiting this place when we first moved to the area but after several encounters of snotty volunteers, we stopped visiting all together. Gave donations and never even got a "thank you". Offered to volunteer several times as they claimed to be looking for help but then would never get a response back. It kind of just ended up being one of those "why bother anymore" kind of things. We were seeking to adopt a cat too, so that was kind of disappointing. It's very frustrating wanting to adopt a new family member but local shelters/human societies seem to be hard to work with. And then they wonder why some of the animals sit so long... Sad 😞

I found my sweet girls though here and the entire experience was quick and great (even while dealing with the hassle that comes with renting an apartment and adopting). The staff cares so much and are lovely people!

The workers are super kind and helpful. They truly care about the animals and the people who want to adopt. We adopted two male kittens and we are so happy with them. They are so sweet and cute! They take great care of their animals.

These people act like you are doing something bad when you hand over a kitten you found outside in the snow at night. They need a real attitude ✅! And why were there 5 workers and hardly any animals there. Anyway they can use some classes on how to handle the stressed out person who had the animal so they can get as much info of the animal they can. Lady made me so mad I left and called later about his history as far as he was with me. Guess if I had to clean poop all day I wouldn't b in the best mood 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

My husband and I have been supporters of WAAS for years, but we've become frustrated with them. My husband works 2nd shift, and the fact that they only have hours in the afternoons on weekdays makes it impossible for him to visit. This week he spoke to a volunteer there who said they'd be able to coordinate time for him to come in on a Saturday. He got a last-minute voicemail this morning stating if he could be there between 10:30 and 11, he could meet the cats he's been interested in. He called back repeatedly and no one answered, but he quick got ready and drove the 30 minutes to Waupun. Just to find that no one answered the door or the phone when he arrived. Such a waste of time and gas... I wish their hours were more accessible, and that the communication between the volunteers was better. I'm sure they'd have more successful adoptions if people who work afternoons/evenings would actually be able to meet the animals (or successfully schedule a time to do so).

Very caring staff! All volunteers but they love what they do! I trust them in adopting from there. Got my first 2 cats from there & will adopt again. Even brought in a stray & the volunteer met me there (they were closed) instead of waiting til the next day.

I was denied because I skipped my 18 year old cat's final shots after it was already determined that her organs were failing and she was dying. Good job. You missed someone who actually knows how to take care of an animal.
