Great shop! With as much or little attention as you want . Great selection of flies for local waters!!. If you are even considering fly fishing give this place a shot they have a great fly rod setup for a 180.00. Fly fishing is for everyone!!You do not need to cast 30 or 40 feet to catch trout, I caught fish my very 1 st time out by myself from watching you tube videos.But if you hire one of their guides they will put you on fish your first day and can make for a much more enjoyable time by showing you all kinds of tips and tricks to help your day go smoothly. While you are out fishing do not be afraid to talk and ask questions to other anglers on the streams I have never talked to anyone that was unfriendly.Please remember the Pink Squirrel !!!!!

A great home base for fly fishing in the area. Pick any direction and drive 20 mins from here and you're on great water. Staff is excellent. If they don't have it, you don't need it.

Stopped in after a women’s fly fishing clinic. Kevin was in the shop and helped all of us with enthusiasm. He was honest with recommendations and was so encouraging of people getting started in the sport! There was also experienced anglers in the shop, who found what they were looking for and got and gave advice. Atmosphere and selection were top notch, highly recommend this shop!!

I called ahead to plan a guided day on the rivers. Matt let me know that all the guides were booked but come into the shop and he would help me out. That’s exactly what he did. Gave me the low down on river conditions, picked flies for me, and marked up a map with recommended river sections. Had a great time. It is a beautiful place to fish. Thanks Matt!!!

Visited Driftless Angler for the first time on recommendation of a friend. Couldn't have been happier. The shop is fantastic with excellent selection of flies for the surrounding waters. Gerri and Matt were so enthusiastic about the local fishing and provided excellent advice and recommendations. Also had booked a guided trip with Peter and could not have been happier. Awesome shop! Stopped in for some flies and advice right away before hitting my campground. Owner Geri got me started on all the flies that were hitting, and then provided me with a map of the streams that were producing. Her advice was spot on! Made a second trip there a couple of days later and got to meet owner Mat. he was enthusiastic and helpful also. I will be back there again!

Went out with Pete yesterday and it was absolutely amazing. He taught two rookies the basics and while it was a little tough to get going, by the end we were casting beautifully and managed to catch a few. Pete was a stellar teacher and patient and his dog teak was the coolest most patient and smart dog ever. What a great experience!!!!

I first heard about this shop when listening to an Orvis fishing podcast. I then checked and the reviews were great and the small streams looked beautiful. I do not live in Wisconsin so I wanted to be sure this would be a great destination. I made a couple of calls to the shop and they were extremely helpful and they set up a trip. My guide turned out to be Matt B. who was excellent. He took my son and I to a couple of streams that were definitely off the beaten path. At every good spot he would clearly explain how to fish it for success. And he was right, as we caught many fish. Most were 9-11 inch with some 14 inch + fish mixed in. Even though he has seen untold thousands of fish caught he was so excited every time a fish hit a fly or when we caught one. The trip could not have been better and I will definitely be planning a return trip.

I am brand new to fly fishing and I made the trip down to Driftless Angler today. The shop was great and the staff (Jessie I believe) was very helpful. She was the only person at the shop while there was a steady flow of customers. Regardless, she still made it a point to make sure I was taken care of. This is an amazing shop! They have a good variety of gear and plenty of flies for any fly fishing you are going to do. The employees are incredibly nice, welcoming and helpful. Truly a first rate fly shop, and then some. Shop owners & guides Mat and Geri are both forthright, friendly and accommodating. They know their stuff, and are excellent ambassadors not only of the fly fishing realm, but the entire Driftless region as well. Their shop is a well-stocked nod to the practical, informed, and fun side of this sport, complete with a nicely appointed (and very reasonably priced) second floor apartment for overnight visitors. Whether it's a visit in person, a phone call, or an online order through their website, the Driftless Angler will definitely treat you right. I've visited quite a few fly shops around the country, and Mat & Geri earn my highest rating.

After years of little success in fly fishing pursuits, I hired Mat as a guide in 2010. Since then, I've become a much better fly fisherman. He taught me so much in 4 hours, I couldn't believe how much better I became. When I stop in his shop now two to three times a year, he always sells me flies that catch fish. He also helped me get my car keys out of the gutter using a magnet and fly line, I highly recommend this fly shop.

He has an incredible knowledge of the driftless water, and loves sharing it. I am new to fly fishing, and in one day with Kevin, we caught more fish than I had in the past 3-4 years combined! I had a blast spending the day out on the water with him, and wish I would’ve known about him sooner!

Driftless Angler is the perfect fly shop! They don't push tons of ridiculously overpriced gear that you don't need, but they do have everything that you do need. When I took my 12 year old in there last year the owner actually talked to him and made him feel like just one of the other fishermen in the shop (even though most of what he was telling him was for my benefit). Amazing, personalized service, great gear, and the fly shop apartment is pretty awesome, too.
