Incredible team of people who dedicate so much care and effort into rescuing cats and making sure they not only get adopted but are placed in a safe, stable and healthy environment with caregivers who have the means and ability to take care of them.Their cats are microchipped, tested for feline leukemia, and are fixed (neutered/spayed) before adoption. They will provide you with the veterinary paperwork. The cost for adoption depends on the age of cat, younger cats- especially kittens will have a larger fee compared to senior cats that may have a lower fee or no fee at all. Regardless, the fee is very affordable.I will be forever grateful to them for bringing so much love and joy into our home.

We adopted our baby, Ruby (formerly Honey Crisp), from here as well as two other kitties, Opal and Jasper, last year. Angel's Wish is so devoted to helping cats and finding them the right home. Can't recommend them enough!

A wonderful experience adopting a cat! The staff is knowledgeable the facility is clean and safe, and all of the cats well cared for.

If I could give angels wish more stars, I would! They are AMAZING! You can tell in all they do that they really have the best interest of the cats and their humans in mind. They are thinking about the cats well-being throughout the whole process, even after adoption. They are entirely volunteer driven, and I have had positive experiences with everyone I've met. Such a high quality establishment!

You can tell Angel’s Wish cares for their kitties. They have high expectations for the adopter as can be seen though their strong vetting process. Place can be busy on Saturday’s, best if you get pre-approved and if you find a kitty or more on their web site, be there early. We were looking for and found a bonded pair of females. The two new additions have really filled a whole of our recently departed 14 and 19 year old cats.

It is often portrayed that shelters are so overcrowded that they really need adoptions. But if thats the case than someone with good stable income and home, proof from their landlord that a pet is ok, proof that their current pet has an appointment with a vet to get updated vaccines, willing to pay the $100+, and a desire to give a pet a good home would be able to adopt.I absolutely understand that they want to make sure the pet has a good home, but they are waaaaay too persnickety. Standards are necessary but too many is counterproductive. After Angel's Wish kept me going through hoop after hoop, I went to and was able to adopt through another reputable rescue and after showing them everything I listed earlier, I now have an adorable spoiled rotten kitten enjoying his life in my home.

We found a stray pregnant cat. I knew of Angel's wish from previously working at a humane society. They got back to me quickly and made space for the sweet cat and her kittens!

My family adopted our kittens from here. We were really impressed by how thorough the adoption process was even though it was difficult to wait the few weeks necessary for Angel's Wish to review our documents and vet reference. In the end I'm happy they do such a thorough job to ensure the kitties are going to a good home and will be well taken care of. The staff were very professional and helpful when we had questions. I highly recommend adopting from here!

I had an excellent experience with Angel's Wish! I would recommend adopting from this place. Very friendly and informative volunteers. And I found my new cat, Khloey because of Angel's Wish. I'm so grateful for their work!

Awesome cat adoption and rescue. Great space where you can come and play with some kitties! What's not to love. Very easy to work with.

Took them two weeks of one question emails to finally reject my application and imply that I was responsible for the recent death of my elderly cat. I can tell they care about cats, but my experience with Angel's wish was not good. Looking forward to finding my new fuzzy buddy somewhere else.

I had a stray animal cat her name was "Desiree" and she was taken from the sauk county humane society and taken to this facility. The adorable cat was adopted out within a few days and the staff were kind enough to let me know that the stray I was taking care of found a home!!! (She was such a SWEET KITTY AND I MISS HER) but I'm not in a position to be her owner not right now.

We adopted two litter mates just over 2 years ago. We wanted two kittens who got along well and we couldn't have asked for a better pair.Scotch and Ryelee are living the dream here on Milwaukee's Eastside.Linda does a wonderful job placing cats into well deserving homes. We would definitely adopt from Angel's Wish again!

I adopted a kitten from Angel's Wish a year ago, and she has grown to be an amazing cat. She's adorable, goofy, outgoing and curious. The rescue did a good job providing background information on her and providing an accurate description of her personality. I primarily dealt with Amy, Violet's foster mom, and she was terrific. The adoption process was easy and painless. I really appreciate that the cats are able to live in foster homes but that the rescue also has a central location, which makes it easy to meet them. I highly recommend!June 2020 update: I adopted another little girl, Astrid (formerly Feta), from Angel's Wish. Astrid is special needs because of her deafness and wide range of allergies. I worked with Linda, who was just as wonderful to work with as Amy. She made sure I knew everything I needed to about Astrid's medical history, and the adoption was smooth, despite the quarantine. Astrid has been a perfect addition to the family.

Wow - this place is fantastic!!I attended my first event last weekend and was so impressed by the friendly volunteers and the facilities. The cats seemed so happy and the rooms were ideal for getting to know the kitties. The volunteers were so helpful and someone was always checking to make sure I didn't have any questions. I found out they also bring in cats from shelters that are over-run - so pleased to hear this. I highly recommend adopting from Angle's Wish!

Clean facilities, friendly people and great cats. I cannot say a bad thing about this place. I was blown away.

I was just about to rescue a kitten. I was then informed that she was a package deal with her brother. So when you see "kittens name, bonded with another kittens name." That means you have to purchase both. That really sucks because most aren't looking for 2 kittens at same time. They could have way more rescues if they didn't make you purchase 2.

This place is extremely clean and tidy. The entire inside looks nice and updated. The cats are kept either in nicely sized condos or in visiting rooms. The volunteers/staff are incredibly nice and seem to really care about the cats. The adoption process is fairly easy. I recommend completing the online form before coming in.

I adopted a wonderful kitten today from Angel's Wish as a pet for me and a companion to my older kitten. It was a great experience and Lois was so helpful and very generous with her time and listening about my previous cat experiences. She was professional, pleasant and respectful and obviously dedicated to placing cats in good homes. I was able to meet the foster parents for this kitten and hear her whole past and recent history. I had lots of time alone with the kitten in a private room. The facility was clean and roomy with plenty of volunteers to help everyone. I can highly recommend Angel's Wish based on my experience.

It's a good place, they care about their cats, but they're so strict they can deny good pet owners the chance of having a healthy and loving pet. I hope they loosen their restrictions a bit. I know there's people who won't take care of cats, but there's people who will and are not getting through their application process.

Their set up is terrific. They have a very nice facility for meet and greet. There paperwork and background checks are very thorough and help ensure cats are placed in a safe environment. However - Lois appears to make decisions based on some set of rules that are beyond their published mission statement. I applied - received a very good report from my vet - and then was ghosted by Lois. The cat I applied for was adopted to another person two weeks after I applied for her. I own my own home, I have a fenced yard. I believe her concern is that the cat would be outside with me - and she didn't believe I would be able to keep the cat in my yard without being leashed. However - she never responded with a full explanation on why I was rejected. Frustrating.

I was shopping at Petsmart while Angel's Wish was having an adoption event there. I needed to grab supplies quick and leave but had a negative interaction with one of the volunteers. The group was in front of where I needed to grab some bedding for my rabbit and my dog briefly got too close to one of the crates. One of the volunteers kept an eye on the situation (my dog is good with my cat at home so I didn't think too much about there being an isssue) but another woman approached pretty aggressively and snapped at me pulling the table away and told me to get my dog out of the cats face. I understand the safety concern but there are gentler ways to approach those types of situations. Volunteers are representatives of the nonprofit, salespersons and animal advocates. I didn't deserve to be scolded in that way and if the volunteers are going to act out like that the cats who deserve to be adopted won't be due to their caretakers poor attitude.

We just adopted two kitten from Angels Wish last weekend and it was such a great process! We were assigned Lois, and I was nervous from reading other reviews, but she worked great with us! She definitely wants to make sure the cats are going to a home that will take great care of their cats, they ask a lot of questions to make sure of that so don’t take offense to that. They just care a lot. They really encourage (or even require in some instances) to adopt more than one at a time. We only went in for one and came out with a sibling pair and could not be happier with the decision. The process was fast and all of the volunteers were so great and helpful! The vet check went well for our kittens too. We would adopt again from them. Highly recommend. Thanks Angels Wish!

I understand that rescue’s have the right to choose who receives the animals and who doesn’t, BUT to lie and say that “ At this time, we are unable to approve your application. Unfortunately, we have been unable to establish a consistent pattern of wellness exams and vaccinations for your previous pet(s). Our organization requires these to be completely yearly (or at the recommendation of your vet).”, you NEVER even contacted them to find out that he had 2 (two) vets in his pets whole life. Shots, check up, dental work, neutered, groomed every 4 weeks in his pets life he only had two groomers. THE PET WAS HIS BEST FRIEND, spoiled, pampered, loved beyond measure. If you had let him adopt one of your animals it would of had its best life. I feel bad for the animals that won’t get that chance. Just be careful because you could miss out on a really good match. I will never recommend this “rescue” to anyone. Oh and Fyi he does know about cat’s and their health he grew up with both cats and dogs.

I attempted to volunteer at AW. I Loved the Kitties, the customers and the New Volunteers - most of the ‘old’ volunteers Not so much. There was No Empathy from most of the ‘Old’ volunteers to the New volunteers. No Smiles or Kindness from most of them to the New Volunteers. When they placed me on the inactive list I was very surprised they even knew who I was because when I was there no one seemed to care. Yes, I had some difficulties with their sign up sheet, and yes I did leave early on occasion but only after I observed the volunteers were just standing around looking for things to do. My advice to AW is to be Kind and Empathetic to All New Volunteers and take them under Your Wing. New Volunteers Care but need a lot of direction and Kindness from the ‘Old” Volunteers. Thank You for reading this and continue to support AW - is Is a Wonderful place to adopt Your Kitty! Nancy Julien

We have adopted from Angel's Wish three times, and recommend them to friends. The adoption floor was clean and well run. Each of the three visits, we had a lot of patient help visiting the cats until we found the cat that was the exact right kitty for us. All of them are extremely well socialized and are very healthy. The paperwork was all in order, and it was handled thoroughly. All our questions about the cats history were answered to our satisfaction. We have one complaint... We sent in our paperwork to volunteer for them--and called twice--and we never got a call back!

Angels Wish is hands down the BEST rescue in the Madison area. Yes, they are sometimes difficult - but in a good way. They say no when others can't. They always have the best interests of the pet and family in mind. Not only do we have Angel's Wish cats as a part of our family now, but we have also very much enjoyed fostering kittens in years past. Thank you to Linda for always being there and taking my call no matter how busy you are! Simply the best! <3

My husband and I adopted two male kittens from Angel's Wish a couple of weeks ago, and we couldn't have had a better experience. The volunteers and foster parents were all there to answer questions for us, and it was obvious that all the cats there are well loved and taken care of. We worked with Lois, and she was great. We love our boys, and we are so grateful to Angel's Wish for bringing them into our lives :)

I am writing this complaint on Linda Johnson. I had spoken with her about adopting a cat and from the very start of our conversation she was nothing but extremely rude. It seems as though there had been a misunderstanding about adopting the cat at that time, which I would’ve completely accepted and understood, however, Linda went about the situation entirely wrong and her attitude was completely unacceptable and unnecessary. She had made comments such as, “You do realize we’re located in Madison, right? And you live in Milwaukee? I just don’t understand why anyone would drive all the way from Milwaukee to Madison just for a cat. I know there are plenty of shelters in Milwaukee, so why don’t you just look there?” I could not understand why she had such a big problem with something as minuscule as this. What one could’ve seen as devotion for this cat, she instead saw it as a problem. She was beyond condescending and made too much of a point to attack my personal life and decisions about adopting this cat. For whatever reason, she was adamantly opposed to me adopting this cat, which she made very clear through her snide comments and bullying. I will never seek to adopt from this shelter again, nor would I recommend this shelter to anyone.

We had a good experience at Angels Wish. Filled out an application and got approved after about a week. Some of the questions on the application seem a little intrusive and Lois did call our landlord to ask if we could have two cats. We did go in and chose a cat a couple weeks after getting approved. Lois and other volunteers were kind - no issues. I was worried though, based off the other reviews, that she would judge my appearance etc and change her mind haha. So I made sure to brown nose her. Our cat did end up having dirty ears as well as had to take eye drops costing us money at the vet. Overall though experience was fine and facility is set up well for potential cat owners.
