We were on a long driving trip and didn't want to spend a lot of money for a 10 hour stay. The rooms were so reasonable and the place was cozy and friendly. The warm cookie was a nice touch when we arrived. The room was small, but met our needs. The bathroom was SO clean. The bed was comfy. The manager was there to great us at breakfast in the morning. He was busy wiping down all the chairs and doorframes, etc. He took pride in his place. It was just what we were looking for.Noteworthy details: Friendly staff and cozy feel. Clean.

Perfect stay for the price point. I upgraded to a suite and it is well worth it. They had two leather match Rowan lazboys in the room. The mattress is rated a 4 out of 5. The bed sheets need a a higher thread count but I would rather keep the price lower. Enjoyed the biscuits and gravy in the morning. Also, breakfast starts a 5am, so for those who have to get up even earlier. Best hotel under a 100 I've stayed at this year. I also only stayed on the side away from interstate.

Not tolerant. Did not return money when instigated me to leave. During winter while back packing. Room appeared clean, but atmosphere was profit seeking. The trade off not worth it. Different employee will be same atmosphere. Currently sleeping in snow.

I had the opportunity to stay here during a recent hunting trip. They opened breakfast early for hunters and even put together a chili supper to welcome folks back on opening day. This hotel was clean, easy to access, near shopping, and staffed with the nicest people. The stay was very enjoyable and priced reasonably. I would stay there again without hesitation.

This motel was really nice! It is conveniently located very close to I94 and Hwy 21. The rooms were very, very clean.The sheets were clean and crisp, and there were plenty of pillows. The bathroom was spotless with plenty of towels.They offered a nice breakfast with plenty of things to choose from. Fruit juice,coffee,tea, and three types of cold cereal. They offered a fresh fruit bowl.The hot items offered were mini pancakes from the pancake machine and packets of oatmeal.I passed on the carbs and grabbed a couple hard boiled eggs and a yogurt for protein. The front desk person was very nice and friendly. Checking in and out was a breeze. One thing I will mention was that there were several loud noises associated with the building settling. I'm not sure if it was the heat warming the room causing it because it was cold outside or if the building was newer and it was settling. I was on the second floor, room 208,which was a pet room. Each time the noise happened, every 5- 10 minutes,my dog jumped. I was exhausted from a long day of travel and eventually fell asleep. I do not recall the noise in the morning.In summary, this was a very nice hotel that I would stay in again.

All the staff were awesome, and it’s a very cozy hotel! Only 4 stars because I don’t think it earned a 5 star, but would definitely stay there again.Noteworthy details: There was a little living room in the lobby with a real Christmas tree and some couches and a TV, looked super cozy!

WARNING!!! Thieves and scammers here, management will say you need to put a card on file for incidentals, and then will charge the card for each night u stay and will claim it's a "hold" on your card. They will the take the funds out of your account and never refund you. The manager Matt will threaten to kick out of the hotel if you question him about his thievery. DO NOT STAY HERE

The night manager was rude when i asked him why my room didn't get cleaned today he stated my do not disturb sign was on rhe door i told him i had left at noon and removed the sign he stated i should have told the housekeeper i wanted my room cleaned i told him she had to walk pass my room and must have noticed the sign was gone he stated he only had 3 housekeepers on and they each had 20 rooms i use to work in a hotel and i understand but i would check the rooms to see if they needed anything he proceeded to say he is the general manager and has been doung this job for 15 years i said oh i am surprised a general manager works third shift he told me he did not like my attitude and said i have to check out tomorrow so he cut my stay short hard to believe that the owners would allow this type of rudeness from a general manager . This is not the first complaint about this person thatNoteworthy details: The night desk clerk was rude he told me it was my responsibility to let housekeeping know i wanted my room cleaned

Our travel plans got delayed so we were traveling late at night and getting drowsy. I called Microtel to ask if we could cancel the first night of our three night stay so that we could stay at a different hotel and stop driving (we were starting to dose off and it was getting dangerous). She said that it shouldn’t be a problem, but that she couldn’t confirm until the following morning when the manager got there. I was told that they would call with an update. Fast forward, we never got a call. When we arrived, we were told that the manager refused to cancel the first night because of late notice. So not only is the manager money hungry, but he/she was also a spineless coward who didn’t call because of how we might bring our business elsewhere. Not impressed one bit with this business.

Microtel Inn & Suites booked our reservation incorrectly. I called a week prior to ensure that I had two adjacent rooms with a door in between so that my toddler could be put to bed at her regular bedtime. Thus, I paid for two rooms. When I showed up, I had two rooms, but they were across the hall from each other. The staff member (woman with short gray hair) who was checking us in was rude when I brought this to her attention. She made it out to be as if it were me inconveniencing her when my reservation was booked incorrectly. She did not work to remedy the situation, nor was she apologetic. I get that mistakes happen, but in the hospitality industry, one would hope staff would try and remedy the situation or at least be apologetic and ask if there was anything else they could do. She did not do any of this and it was really frustrating.

The front desk has no clue what they are doing. There is now an ongoing limbo of my card deposit (which I would have done cash had I been informed i could) like most of these other reviews dealing with the "manager" Matt he is extremely rude immediately when we started talking then questioned why I didn't end up staying in their room and I said why is that any of your business? (Family emergency) he said because I'm allowed to ask any question under the sun this is my hotel. So now I know I need to go to the next person up. I can guarantee this guy loses this motel money. I called confused on why they are still holding my money and he says I'm confusing and hard to deal with for asking questions lol these small 1 and 2 star hotels always have managers that power trip and think they are something special. Next time I'll pay the extra money and get proper service. The rooms are terrible, like putting lipstick on a pig. Obviously service is very very awful. Watch yourself going here because if the ignorant front desk staff mess anything up or your room is bad this he/she incel Matt (I can also guarantee he is indeed an incel) will make things he'll and so much worse than it needs to be. HIRE SOME COMPETENT STAFF THAT KNOW ATLEAST A SMALL FRACTION OF WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS. Matt karma really really sucks and from the reviews I've seen you have tried to be a bully in the same way to everyone. I would absolutely LOOOOVE to meet you in the parking lot at night. You really should be careful who you talk to like that when you do not know them.

I get major anxiety driving highways at night because I'm always afraid a deer will run out in front of me. It has happened and luckily I was able to avoid it. We decided to stop and stay the night in Tomah, then drive the rest of the way home the next morning. I was shocked when we walked in the door how nice the lobby area was. Clean, smelled nice and the aesthetics were so pleasing to the eye. The front desk woman was super nice and extremely helpful. Our room smelled like a swimming pool which told me they did a really good cleaning. Beds were nice and comfortable, plenty of towels, minimal outside noise. All in all, I would stay there again in a minute. To make our overnight stay even better, I was suprised to see how big Tomah was and everything it had to offer. Driven by a million times and never once stopped until then and I am so glad we did!!

This is my first time here at this location. We travel a lot and to all of the hotels that we had stayed at never the breakfast shuts down at 9:30??!! I was told wrong last night .. I went downstairs, and everything was already put away. I was surprised I called downstairs, and the gentleman had an attitude, and they would rather have a check-out time at 12 than to have breakfast shut down early!! I won't come back to this location ever!! I wouldn't let my family or friends come here either!!

This place far surpassed my expectations.Hotels in this price range can be really hit or miss, but it's obvious this place is managed very well.The lobby was decorated and cozy, the room was updated and clean, comfy bed and a decent continental breakfast open from 5am-10am (the longest I've seen).I also forgot my pillow and they had it shipped back to me (at true cost) in 3 days. Excellent communication throughout and the employee (stephanie?) took ownership of the situation to make sure I was taken care of.If I'm ever needing a place off 94 in the middle of Wisconsin I'll be back.

The hotel was mediocre, because of a few things. For starters the breakfast was little to nothing to eat. Mostly bread, muffins, and cereal. I wish there some kind of breakfast meat on the menu. The juice selection was great. The double bed room was clean, but when I decided to sit on the bed nearest to the window the bed almost tipped over. When I got back to the hotel one evening, my room door was open. I called the front desk to notify the person on duty, and they said it was a mistake on house keeping part.. Even though the hotel was mediocre, Andrew at the front desk was amazing. He always greeted us in the evening on his shift, and he was very courteous. He even recommended us to this great restaurant that we ate at the night before we departed Tomah, WI. He really made us feel comfortable. Please give him a promotion! If it wasn't for him, I would not have enjoyed my stay. So thank you Andrew for making my stay better than what I thought it was going to be!!!!!

On our way back from a trip, just couldn't make it the rest of the way. Looked up the closest hotel and found this. For $60 for the night, we had a beautifully clean room, cleaner than some places we've spent $150/night. A little small, of course, but we simply needed a room. Only "complaint" is the walls are a little thin - we could hear the neighbors and passing traffic, but small price to pay when you're too tired to stay awake anyway.

After being on the road for 12 hours I decided to stop in Tomah for the night. I was checking other places to stay and decided to try Microtel. I'm glad I did. The front desk staff was polite and got me checked in quickly. I booked a room with 1 queen bed and it was perfect. The room was small but well laid out, clean and updated. I don't eat breakfast in the morning so I grabbed a couple juices and checked out. I will definitely consider staying at Microtel in the future.

Bad then good. The room could have been cleaner, even on the note from the house cleaner there was hairs on the note which was super off putting lol which in general the cleaners need to step up there game, we had to swipe down all sorts of things but hey the beds and carpets were clean atleast. Now the beds were the comfiest hotels beds we've ever slept on, like even with hair in the room is come back just for that bed 😂 but no really the staff was beyond nice and the overall experience was really good. Would definitely come back and shout out to the nicest desk people ever! But seriously get better room cleaners.
