The Do It Best network of independent owners is well represented with this clean, well laid out store that offers a complete source of all your construction needs. The rental center offers ground moving equipment at the big end. The decorating center has eye catching displays that are well lit. The staff was friendly, helpful and courteous. Although I did not go into the lumber yard, it appeared to be well stocked. There is also what I hope is a spring area for plants. Today I stopped in for a roll of coil stock to wrap around the bird feeder post, and some hooks to hang plants from. There was a good selection of both.

Steve at the Do it center is the one I contact when I need something.He is very good at his job and he should get a raise in my opinion.

I had nothing but issues with them in Tomah from steel roof issues with sizes, not fitting together because they bent the connector side funky! Had some special order siding came in busted they wouldn't replace it after waiting months for it and it didn't all come in! Then told me it was all payed for and when the rest gets in just stop in and get it which I did and now they are billing for it! I'll never do business with them again! I'll take my construction business to menards or home depot from now on!

Ordered metal roofing.....wait 1 week. Then they called and it's an additional 5 days to have it delivered 3 minutes down the road after paying their delivery fees. Spoke with Steve at the Tomah store......let's just say his customer service skills were just as good as the delivery speed.....rude and disrespectful.! Not sure why I choose to support this local business when the bigger home stores are cheaper and deliver faster even though they are 42 miles away.

Very unhelpful to women. My husband returned the same item as I did on a different day and got way better service and much more direct information. I was treated like I was incompetent and there was a lot of heavy sighing with the service I received instead of a pleasant smile and helpful comments like my husband had received. We will be driving to LA crosse or Sparta for hardware instead.-we both returned a bag of concrete. My husband returned his about a week ago but honestly I couldn't tell you the date or the time. I returned mine 9/12/2022 at 2:04 pm according to the receipt. I think we dealt with different people at both the front counter and the back counter. He was told at the front counter that he needs to return it in the back and then it was smooth sailing from there. I did not have a receipt and neither did he. I walked in from pouring rain with a 60 lb concrete bag and my toddler in my other arms so I was struggling with I walked in. Immediately when I walked in the front clerk asked me, while my toddler was screaming, if I had gotten the concrete from outside. I had answered her honestly that I did not know where it came from because when we picked it up we checked it out from the back counter and then they just had it ready for us. I went to the back counter because that's where my husband had returned his. I was told at the back counter, "I wish you would have brought it through the back because then you could have just unloaded it without getting it wet from the rain". Then the back counter worker brushed me off and told me that I could go ahead and bring it up front to get it returned. I continue shopping and everybody else was helpful and then I went up front where they told me that I should have returned it in the back because they can't ring it up in the front. She then proceeds to tell me that she wishes I would have done it differently because she can't lift it out of the cart. I proceeded to tell her that I would lift it and get it out of the way and set it somewhere else if that would be more helpful. The front desk worker continuously ignored what I was saying or just saying it's fine it's fine mumbled under her breath. When I left I said thank you to the front desk worker because I understand that if it wasn't her place to return that I was appreciative of her assistance and she continued to ignore me. I left pretty disappointed in the service and I was honestly ready to leave my return and my purchase there and walk out.

My family and me shop here all the time . They don't put prices on any of the flooring. There are alot of unfilled shelves and displays in the shower area for example the shower doors are non-existent except for the one display that holds 5 of them but only has 2 in it. It's been like this for a long time now. It just makes more sense to drive out to lacrosse for flooring bc we can see the prices with out waiting for an employee or having to sit down with some designer when we just want to get in and get out. Would not recommend this store, sorry.

Most of the staff is always very helpful. The guy in the lumber yard went over the pros and cons of using different varieties of materials for my project and answered several questions to make sure I had all of the information to make an informed decision. There was a young man working the paint counter who asked if I needed assistance and when we weren't able to find what I was looking for, he happily looked it up on the computer and then took me out to the garden center (which was not technically in operation yet) and showed me the different options that they did have in stock that were out there. I've always had really great luck with most everything I've tried to accomplish with them. There is almost always a significant wait if you need to get something from the back counter, so be prepared for that. Usually there is 1 or 2 workers and just as many people waiting to be serviced and that counter (for lumber and brick needs, etc) always takes a long time for each customer.

Good hardware store, it pretty much has everything you need for your DIY home projects and much more. The staff is very friendly and helpful! It's a bit pricier than the big box stores, but then again, it beats driving to LaCrosse when you need something in a crunch. Besides, it's good to support local businesses.

Watch the prices, when checking out, you will get over charged, I bought something that was 2.88 and was charged 7.98 . I could see a few cents but not almost 4.00 more.i had to goback into the store and tell them of course they had to get a manager and Holy cow, he was so rude I almost walked out. No excuse at all for him to be as rude as he was.

Recently was there to have some paint matched to a sample I brought with me. Joe E was totally unqualified for the job. Ended up walking out (after 20 min) and going to Ace Hardware where they matched it almost perfectly! and I didn't have to listen to some lame story about a job he did.

Expensive ** . Store not very well stocked. Only lumber yard in Tomah. Do a lot of standing around here 🤔 not enough employees. Look at your receipt, twice we have been charged double for one item or not given a receipt at all. Have to go there once in a while other lumber yards 40 - 60 miles away

We literally spend thousands of dollars every year here on fencing supplies. We ordered and paid for a pole shed kit in December 2017. Since they did not ship the door supplies supposedly included in the kit we paid for, the contractor screwed up the door opening, after several trips down there over the course of 5 MONTHS, they FINALLY dropped off the door supplies IN MAY 2018, not only were they ALL WRONG, they had the nerve to charge us OVER AN ADDITIONAL $700 for the WRONG DOOR AND KIT which we already paid for!!! We had to hire a second contractor to put on a different, more expensive door from Menards to fix their screw up, costing us about $2,000 more! When returning the incorrect door supplies that we were charged for twice, instead of having a $700 credit, they are still charging us over $300...FOR COSTING US $2,000!!! On top of that, they are charging us service charges on money we don't even owe them!!! My husband has gone down there and called them several times, each time they tell him it's been taken care of, but we are still being billed. I WILL be contacting The Better Business Bureau and The Consumer Protection Agency to report their unethical business practices, and we will be taking our fencing supply business elsewhere next fencing season. I am beyond disgusted by how they treat their loyal, repeat customers...

This is my usual go to place for my hardware needs, mostly come here for electrical things. Most of the time they have what I need. The price is so so...once in a great while the place across the highway may call to me for better variety but not often.

After driving over 30 miles, the clerk rushed us out of the store at closing time. Due to his attitude we didn't get everything we needed. Probably won't go back as the 'help' was not helpful.

Went in today to get some wood for a bench we are building and told the guy I needed them for a bench and he gave us split wood. You think we would learn our lesson. Every time we go in for wood they always give us trash, it’s either split or warped. Not to mention they over charge.

There my home town hard whare store if they don't have they will special order it for you really great service they will take that extra step to help with your next project after all that's what they do best the service there really know n understand what you really want it's all about​ service with a really big smile tell them Terry Holtz from camp Douglas sent you there very nice neat store, I've worked with contacters in my time helping them do remodeling on my time off on the side you get to meet so many great people n trying to make smiles is very important in my life it's all Quality part's n service what n outstanding store I also have a pallet stove it's really great they have wood pallets as well

The guy who owns the store, as well as the one in Sparta is a sleaze.... I personally don't shop here and haven't in several years. The wood in the lumber yard looks like crazy straws because its warped to hell. The man who was working the lumber desk (at the time) didn't know what "Green-treated wood" was. Horrible store.
