Absolutely amazing rescue where I picked up Oscar, now Ozzy. His foster, Hailey, did a fabulous job communicating with me as well as the rest of Coco’s staff regarding the process, obtaining his vet records and they even check in now and again. They frequently do trips to the Dakotas to rescue large amounts of dogs and I’ve had a few friends rescue from them with very positive experience! Thanks for giving me Mr Ozzy, he’s a perfect fit for my family!

We have adopted, fostered, and fundraised for Coco’s Heart Dog Rescue. I can’t think of a single thing I would change. This rescue organization is a top notch nonprofit. The new facility and vet staff are amazing. Adopt, don’t shop!!

Coco's Heart Dog Rescue is an exceptional organization! Their dedication to rescuing and caring for dogs is truly heartwarming. The team goes above and beyond to provide love, attention, and forever homes for these furry friends. I'm grateful for the positive impact they have on the lives of both dogs and adopters. Highly recommend supporting their wonderful work!

Cocos Heart is a professional rescue that has a beautiful facility and great policies in place to protect their animals and make sure pets end up in the right forever home. The level of vet care and foster care is exceptional. Highly recommend this animal rescue if you're considering welcoming a new family member!!

Absolutely LOVE the mission of CHDR and the dogs (and humans) lives they impact. They strive to make the perfect connection between their animals and the adoptees, to ensure success for both. Such a fabulous organization!

We rescued an adult dog from Coco’s in 2021.Hagrid has been the missing piece to our little family. Coco’s gave us all the information and was open and honest about everything when we adopted him.We valued the care and support they go through for each and every animal. We highly recommend going through them as they put in all the work to ensure each dog is going to work out with each family.

Coco's Heart is a wonderful place!!! The staff and foster families are the best. We have 2Cocos heart rescues, and just love them to pieces. Besides being a great rescue organization, and animal advocates, they also have a super fun summer camp for kids!

I have personally adopted three dogs from Coco‘s Heart lland had a fantastic experience. I run into people constantly, who also have adopted from Coco‘s Heart and every one of them also had a great experience. Their processes and communication are top-notch and the dogs get excellent care while they are in rescue.

My daughter and I have been volunteers with Coco's Heart Dog Rescue for over 3 years. This organization is amazing, they are like another family for us! CHDR has built a large, enthusiastic network of supporters who help each other in the process of saving animals - exchanging fostering advice, providing transportation for animals and supplies, and always cheering for animals who need extra help. They put in every possible effort in saving animals that most rescues wouldn't take on due to medical issues, and go above and beyond even when the going gets tough. They are patient with every shy or fearful dog that needs weeks, if not months, to adjust to life in a foster home and become adoptable. In addition to adoption events, CHDR also has amazing community outreach programs - summer camps, school and senior home visits, and partnerships with MN Wild and Soldier 6. Kids in foster families are a big part of the CHDR network and learn about compassion, patience, leadership and integrity. We look forward to helping many more rescued animals!

We have adopted through Coco’s and I work with Coco’s through my insurance agency as well. They are compassionate and care about every dog and person they work with. You will not find a better place for your adoption needs!

Very disapppointing experience. Met for an hour with the foster before deciding on a dog but somehow the dog's reliance on Fluoxetine (Prozac) to maintain behavior wasn't mentioned until 2 minutes before signing papers (and after the dog was at our house with our children). Incomplete medical records were provided at adoption. No mention of the dog's submissive urination or past aggressive behavior. Medical records WITH that info was provided 3 days after adoption was finalized. Inaccurate information from foster provided about food aggression around other dogs. We reached out to the organization 24 hours after the adoption with our concerns and were offered zero concessions on their part, even with an email from the foster admitting the information provided was incomplete. Simply told the adoption agreement was binding and tough luck. They do not care about your family one bit. There are lots of rescues who care about finding the right home for a dog, instead of simply trying to pawn off dogs as fast as they can. Work with them instead.

I’m not happy with my experience . They withhold information about an animal to gain $25. Cocos emailed me asking to pay $25 , all to find out the cat had other interests from someone. They knew the cat was already adopted prior to their email asking me to pay $25. I put the cats name in the application . I asked about several cats and they said no both times. They’re not available. Yet, the animals were listed on the website.

Very sad right now. I had a very bad experience here trying to foster a dog and be a foster family to help these poor animals. The foster process is beyond ridiculous and why even do it if you can’t do your job of calling for my vet records for my animals in the home already. They simply were lazy and said that’s too much calling for them to do which is there job and policy. Thanks coco for making it so difficult in ever way shape and aspect for trying to help these poor babies.

We adopted a one year old mix two months ago, and she has been the perfect fit for our family. I had the best experience with all of the staff at Coco's Heart—they were very quick to communicate with us. The foster that we worked with had a lot of experience fostering, which was a huge benefit for us. She provided us with a lot of information about the dog even before we met her. This helped us make an informed decision.

They do such great work all for the animals they support. The focus is truly on the animals and providing the best care and a permanent placement. Of course, all the amazing, wonderful, committed volunteers and fosters continue to support this dream in being a reality. LOVE COCO'S HEART!

This organization does so much for homeless, injured, and sick dogs, as well as for our community as a whole. We are lucky to have such a dedicated group of people in our area, and I’m sure the dogs would agree!

DO NOT TRUST THiS RESCUE! Coco’s Heart withholds bite histories, proven by reposting the same bio after a vicious unprovoked attack on my 12 year old senior pug AND other identical reviews on the bbb.The dog was advertised as “dog friendly” and “did great with a miniature schnauzer” which is why I trusted her. This new dog viciously attacked my 12 year old senior happy-go-lucky pug after ten mis of meeting face-to-face. I had kept the new dog and mine separated by a door/floor to get the new dog used to the house and the smell of my pug. After a couple of hours of separation, and after I fed my pug separately, I introduced them to each other. Things looked fine, so we went to get the new dog food. I was told there were no food resource issues by the foster. While I was pouring the food in a bowl, out of nowhere, the new dog lashed out at my pug. I tried to pull apart the dog’s death grip off my pugs face. Got my pug free and tried to scoop him off the floor and the new dog grabbed a hold of my pug’s face/neck again and tried to kill him. This happened three times within seconds. Blood was EVERYWHERE and pouring down my pug’s face.Within hours of getting this dog, in the ER, I reached out to Coco’s Heart and pleaded repeatedly to speak with a person by phone. They quite literally refused to call me. Blood everywhere, improper assessment of being dog friendly, NO ACCOUNTABILITY, PERIOD! They even said that due to what I reported, they may not take the dog back. How can anyone, after reading a couple of these reviews and mine, trust Coco’s Heart tells adopters the truth. Not to mention, zero mention in the new posting about this dog attacking mine. The ER vet said, my dog was very lucky to be alive.Withholding bite histories and advertising the dog as “dog friendly” and “did great with a miniature schnauzer” is so reckless and irresponsible of Coco’s Heart, not to mention unethical. Coco’s Heart is liable for any sustained injuries going forward, period!

Can't be trusted. They don't use proper waiting period. They don't care if the dog is compatible with the people. And they don't tell you about bite history. They accept dogs with bite history, even bites reported to police. But they don't tell potential adopters.
