Enjoyed the festival of trees for the first time and got to see the new building. The music was wonderful and the trees were beautiful! Wonderful to see the community come together for a great cause. So blessed to have adopted our cat Barbara from WCHS in 2020!

My family has exclusively and happily adopted from here for over 20 years. The remodel was a blessing and the people that work here are passionate and caring. I recently have adopted 3 cats to start my own fur family by myself, and couldn't be happier! The first adoption of a siamese mix was long because he got sick, but they had a foster home care for him which was amazing to know he was in a clean, calm environment. The papers the foster filled out were extremely detailed regarding the cat's tendencies, and I could tell she really paid attention to him. After him being home for a month, I decided to go back for another cat so he could have a friend, and ended up leaving with sibling kittens. Oh well! Lol they haven't had any medical complications or sickness since coming home from the humane society. I recommend this shelter they are incredible! Thank you all for helping me build a furever family! 💖

We adopted a 12year old toy poodle two months ago. We were told she was a stray. She weighs eight pounds. She is the sweetest little dog. She is very clean and has never had an accident in the house. The shelter named her Murphy but we call her Sweetie Pie. Sweetie loves everyone and is very quiet. I will admit we spoil her. She sleeps in the bed with us. Our daughter has a dog she adopted ten years ago, sparky. Sweetie and sparky are fast friends and love to play. We are so happy we had the opportunity to make sweetie a member of the family and share her life with us.

Washington County went above and beyond to scan and assist with helping to locate the family of a cat that wandered into our garage. Thank you for reuniting Mila with her family. 💕💕💕

They really love animals and the cleanliness of the facility proves it. Every cage, every area, every litter box is clean everytime I visit. Well done

I love my beautiful 😍 cat his name is Garfield and he’s so sweet (& his eyes change colors 💛💚🔐 & I also just got back from his first vet appointment and he’s so healthy and up to date I wanna thank the humane society of Washington it was very worth the drive for 40 minutes to get my forever cat GARFIELD & another thing I like about him is he’s sooo good with kids no scratches or no aggression I love him & he also thanked me in someways by climbing up my bed to wake me up with licking me so I know he’s definitely happy thanks again everyone

We went to the festival of lights. Beautiful trees. Well worth the $8 enter fee. All the money goes to the washington county humans society.

The Manger Jess, very bad Manger, telling lies about age of animal treats the help with no respect and very short and rude to customers. I would never work there again as long as she is working there!

Went to their Oktoberfest celebration, was a mighty fun time. Good food, music, drinks to sample, lots of raffles and games too. Really great time for a great cause!

Went to festival of trees. Very well decorated. Some of the staff were a little cranky but it's a busy time of year.

Recently had to surrender my childhood dogs due to my father being incarcerated. Was very difficult to do and I was told by the trainer, Jennie, that she would keep in contact with updates on their situations. I never received any information and was disappointed because she told me she would. I would have rather been told that they wouldn’t contact me rather than leaving me with false hope that I would receive good news, is what it is.

Lots of great animals that need homes but unfortunately the staff is not completely honest with people. Just be careful with any information they give you.

This is the weirdest humane society I have ever been to. They are under construction so things were kind of a mess. Lots of kittens on hold pending partner approval. However, I was able to adopt the sweetest kitten. They took forever to check us out (over an hour) and we were pre-approved before we could even come in. Staff member helping us couldn't tell us about the kittens personalities. Meaning they did not spend a lot of time with them.Turns out the kitten had worms and spread it to our other pets! He also needed vaccines immediately. I can't believe a humane society would adopt out a sick animal!!

Worked out well for me. They love and take good care of their animals. Its a 2 step process to adopt so plan to return for your new pet!

Ms. Tootsa. Mr. Jet. These are two of our fur friends adopted from WCHS. Tootsa was elder, vocal and one of the best friends we knew. Passed. Jet , now he’s still here @ 14. Losing sight, hearing, alittle dementia, and fighting early cancer. He isn’t fighting alone. Adopt a senior with open eyes and you won’t be disappointed.

Very clean and have a large selection of cats and dogs. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and helps you understand the animals personally and who and what animals and family members they would be good with. This location also takes donations to assist in caring for the animals.

Excellent experience adopting a rescue cat. He needed a leg amputation several months prior after being shot as a stray, and was well cared for during recovery at the shelter and later at a foster home. Whether you have pets already or you're bringing a new pet home for the first time, the WCHS gets you off to a great start with information, coupons, free wellness check at a local vet, and loads of encouragement. We are grateful there are many selfless folks in the area to keep this organization thriving.

They were about a dog that wasn’t good with other dogs knowingly put that dog in a pen endangering it and the other dogs in the pen and are putting down the dog after being warned these people do not know how to take care of one dog after being warned do not trust them with your animals

We adopted our little Milo a year and a half ago and it was the best thing we ever did!!! Unfortunately Milo was very ill and nobody realized this until after he was home with us. Jessie took control of everything and literally saved Milo's life! After months of extended care and a very risky surgery we have a happy, healthy Milo! Thus far he is the best little fuzz ball we have ever had and we can't thank everyone at the WCHS enough for all their help and support. Especially Jessie who is so passionate about her job and her love of animals. We will always adopt from here and refer people their way!!!!!!
