Awesome experience every time we sail with Sail Door County. Peder and his team deliver time and time again. I learned to sail from quizzing the captains and watching the deck mates perform various duties. They are always super nice and explain in detail as many things that I asked. I know I must seem like a pest at times but it was so much fun and I was hooked my first time out. I went on to own my own boats over the past 25 years but we still enjoy taking charters on the tall ship when family is in town. The tall ship offers a completely relaxing and safe sailing experience. If you want to get a more private and advanced sailing experience take the smaller 40' sloop. The smaller boat is much faster and has a more unique sailing experience. Cheers to Sail Door County and we will see you soon.

Fantastic sail! Cannot believe all these years we had not taken the tour. Harry worked the schooner sails like an expert while Clayton as captain did not blink an eye with the gusty winds at sunset. Taking this sailing trip was the best part of our trip to Sister’s Bay/Door County. The trip starts on time with an introduction to the boat, safety and the crew - Captain John andMate Isabelle. This is a 2 hour cruise and a lot of information is shared about the history of the Edith Becker and the local waterways. Captain John loves what he does and it shows by how much he involves his guests with the sail. We were offered the chance to raise the sails and even take pictures at the wheel. This was an excellent trip and great value.

I’ve always wanted to sail a Sloop and this was mine and my family’s first time and we ABSOLUTELY enjoyed every minute. Our Captain Clayton, was a blast. Not only was he very knowledgeable, he was also lighthearted and even allowed me to be his Helmsman. Needless to say I LOVED the experience and my family did as much. I would definitely recommend Sail Door County and most assuredly Captain Clayton.

Spent two entertaining hours aboard the 65’ Edith M. Becker on a beautiful hot and sunny Saturday afternoon. Captain Kate, along with crew members Gary and James provided a smooth, safe sail and made it informative and fun. It was our first time on a sailing vessel and it was so beautiful just to hear the wind and waves and feel the occasional splash of a wave against the boat as we cruised along. We even got the opportunity to raise the sails which was fun. While everyone was lining up for the power boat tour, our sail had about 8 plus the crew which made it more special.Highly recommend you take a couple hours and enjoy this sail!

Beautiful day to sail on the water. Crew was friendly. If you are looking for a lot of history or touristy information on the area, this is not the cruise for you. They do talk briefly about a few points of interest. If you are looking for a relaxing couple hours on the water in a sailboat, you should book this trip. The Edith Becker is a beautiful sailboat with lots of history- we enjoyed learning about her history.

My girlfriend and I went on a 2-hour sunset cruise on the Passenger North with Captain Todd. It was an excellent experience! Captain Todd was extremely knowledgeable about the area and sailing. We learned a lot and had a wonderful time! The beautiful sunset was just the cherry on top. I would absolutely recommend the sunset sail!

SHORT REVIEW: Taking a ride on a sail boat out of Sister Bay was my absolute favorite thing I did in 2020. Absolutely loved it. Highly Recommended!LONG REVIEW: Back in July, 2020 we went for a sunset cruise on the "Norra Dorr" sight-seeing boat out of Sister Bay, (which was fun!), and on the way back to the marina, I noticed several sail boats coming in, filled with people on the deck. I pointed this out to my wife, and she quickly checked her phone to see if we could go out on a sail boat for our next Door County adventure. Sure enough, she found the place, and reserved a mornign sail for us.It turned out that we were booked for the 'Edith M. Becker', a beautiful 65' white hulled schooner that is just a work of art. It was worth the price of admission just to climb aboard such a masterpiece. Real wood decks, and big, beautiful wood masts. I was loving this adventure before we even cast off.Captain Kristi took the boat out onto the water, engine engaged of course. We motored all the way out to the Eagle Point Lighthouse, then finally cut the engine, and were under sail all the way back to Sister Bay. First time in my life I was on a moving boat, on the water, that was nearly completely silent! Just the sounds of the breeze and water lapping the hull. It was a near perfect day, bright and sunny, with a nice wind. Lots of other boats were on the water as well.The crew of Kristi, Kate and Claire did an outstanding job crewing the boat, and giving us all the information we could ask for on the history of the boat, and sailing in general. Could not have asked for a better crew. It was easy to understand how so many people get addicted to this lifestyle, it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life, and definately the best thing I did in 2020.All we had to do is take our provided boat cushion, find a nice place to sit on the top of the cabin, and just enjoy the ride. Not the most comfortable of seating, but so what? Once the sails were set, you were free to walk around the deck, enjoying the beautiful views of Green Bay, Door County, and the boat itself. Time passed far too quickly, I didn't want the ride to end.The next time I come back to Door County, I'm certainly going for another ride. HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION

My wife and I took the sunset cruise on the schooner Edith M. Becker. Wonderful crew, very personable and knowledgeable about the history of the vessel and the area. They made everyone feel comfortable and welcome and they maneuvered the boat so that everyone got a wonderful view of both the sunset and the shoreline. If there is a drawback it is seating, which are thin mats placed on the roof of the cabin below. Not comfortable, but they weren't designed to be seats. Also, you aren't sitting the entire time, because you are free to stand and move about once the sails are hoisted (which they allow passengers to assist with - which is an experience in itself). The price, for the length of time on the water is more than reasonable. Thanks for a great experience!

I had such a great time on this. First time in door county. First time on a sail boat. We did the 530 sunset sail on the bigger boat. Names escape me-but they were hilarious and very personable. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to get out on the water for a bit. We brought snacks and wine. Clean boat with a great history. You get to learn a bit about the boat and the area.

Always the highlight of our trips to Door County. We sailed both the Edith M. Becker and the Passage North. It was nice to have our little dogs along. Capt. John and Capt. Todd are seasoned professionals and are happy to share their knowledge and experience.

We just did the sunset sailboat cruise and it was PERFECT! The weather was beautiful, sunset amazing. But best of all our Captain Clayton and first mate Harry made it the best ever. They are both smart and funny and so knowledgeable. They made it so much fun. This cruise I highly recommend. Thank you Clayton and Harry, you are the best!

We sailed the Edith Becker in the afternoon and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect. Our time slot wasn’t too crowded so we were able to talk personally with the crew and get to know them. Our crew was Captain Kate, Layla, James, and Nolan! Lovely people and so much fun.

Epic vacation event. It was windy yesterday on the lake and the waves were high. The ship "Edith M. Becker" rode the swells like the purebred wooden boat that she is. Many tourists on board found out just how stout their sea legs are. Water sprayed us all. Plenty of fun. We were entertained with sea shanties. Well worth the time and price even if you sail without the unrelenting wind we had.

We had the best time! We chose the sunset sail which was beautiful and romantic. We were out on the Passage North which is much smaller but nice for a quieter, more relaxing sail. And our Captain Gwen was awesome! No complaints!

Carrie, Noah and captain Kate were amazing guides on our sunset tall ship evening. They're knowledgeable and friendly and will teach you all about the cool, fascinating history of the ship and sailing in general. If you like to get on the water look no further for a relaxing, low key great time. Bring some drinks and food too!

A perfect day for sailing! Captain John made our sail fun as well as educational. Sailing on a small ship is exactly what we hoped for-close to the water, feeling the spray, hearing the wind in the sails and sitting close enough to others that we could verbally interact with customers as well as the captain. Captain John taught us how to know when a wind gust was approaching, which was fascinating. He explained the workings of the keel and sails to keep the ship upright. The weather was absolutely perfect. What a lovely way to see the nearby islands, learn about the geography from the Captain who obviously loves his job and completely relax on a beautiful small sailing vessel!

Clayton, our Captain asked some great questions about what we wanted from the trip. I wanted a hands-on experience and he delivered! He shared his knowledge freely and gave us the latitude to learn but kept us out of trouble with grace and humor. It was a fantastic experience , well worth the time and it was a bargain for the level of involvement we got! Such a fun experience that I highly recommend if you’re in Sister Bay! Captain Clayton and Harry were entertaining and knowledgeable of their craft. The tour is out and back again, but very relaxing and peaceful. They got us involved so we could say we went “sailing” instead of being “sailed”. Had a great time!
