We have been to sister bay many times and stopped here for the first time and stayed the weekendWe loved the room and view in third floorPriceWasFair and only thing it could have used was new carpet in room but loved the distance to walking downtown and I would also recommend eating at Zero Sum for gluten free organic and made free food and having coffee at Skip Stone and burgers at Husbys!

Decided on a last minute trip to Sister Bay for a one night stay. Very clean, comfortable room. Staff very approachable and professional. Will definitely use this place again when visiting Door County.Rooms: Room had king size bed, gas fireplace, balcony, kitchenette, small living room and jacuzzi tub. Bathroom was clean and plenty of room with double sinks.Nearby activities: Many local sites within short drive or walking.

It was a very pleasant experience.I especially liked the two swimming pools (indoor and outdoor), the cleanliness of the the rooms and the whole campus in general, and the friendliness of the staff.A couple of minor criticisms. 1. We just wrapped our 7th stay with Birchwood for our anniversary weekend (also stayed for our honeymoon last year). There's a reason we choose to stay here every time we are in Door County as the rooms are quiet, clean, and comfortable. We have stayed in all different types of rooms and have never had a bad experience. The location is also incredibly perfect as you easily have access to both 42 and 57. We will continue to choose Birchwood for years to come and it always feels like our home away from home. Extra shout out this year for the extremely noticeable improvements being made in the rooms including more modern furnishings which is incredibly more appealing to milennials like us.Rooms: All the rooms are spacious and include jacuzzi tubs. The housekeepers do an incredible job at keeping things clean and our stay is always quiet.Walkability: Walking distance to many restaurants, shops, and the beach in Sister Bay.

I was overly surprised by this place. The rooms were a good size with a small kitchen. The big perk was the two pools. I noticed they had gas grills available to use as well. The staff was very friendly. They are a small hike up the hill from downtown sister bay. I would stay here again.

Booked our trip for our long weekend family wedding, recommended by family and it was so nice!Great indoor pool and hot tub, my 3 & 5 year old had a blast!Room was just the right size, stand up shower in large bathroom and large size jacuzzi tub in the room.Small fridge/kitchenette sink area, too.Cute Patio with two chairs right outside.I would definitely stay here again if available! Clean and cozy & the location is near downtown and next door the grocery store is piggly wiggly.Thank you for making our stay so wonderful!

Hotel was wonderful. Donna at front desk however chased my daughter and her boyfriend (who spent 1 night on a romantic getaway) into the parking lot after returning key stating they didn't pay and owed an additional $750. She refused to listen and charged his card the additional $750. The receipt showed someone else's name and when they told her she refused to refund them and were made to wait until Monday to get their money back. She was mean and rude. We stay at Birchwood almost every May, and we absolutely love it. This year the weather was unseasonably warm and for some reason, even though we turned the electric heat off, we could not cool down the room. Other than that, we had an enjoyable stay.Nearby activities: Located near the heart of Sister Bay, and close to shops, restaurants and a grocery store is only a block away.

This is our second time in a row choosing to celebrate Valentine’s Day weekend at the Birchwood Lodge and we LOVE it!The whirlpool suite is wonderful for a romantic get away! The resort is very clean, the bed, pillows and bedding super comfortable, the he pool/ hot tub and sauna are are excellent; especially after a long day of hiking.Staff is always super friendly and the location is perfect - close to both hwy 42 and 57.

Excellent location, quiet but still walking distance from downtown. Very clear, well maintained property. Nicely appointed rooms. Easy to reserve, check-in & check-out. Well kept pool & hot tub area. My family absolutely loves Birchwood Lodge. Whether you're staying in a single room or one of the houses on the property (our favorite), you're in for a treat. The rooms are spacious and clean and it's close enough to everything in Sister Bay (downtown is walking distance) but far enough away that it's quiet (on top of a hill). It's truly the best of both worlds. We won't stay anywhere else. Thanks for making it an easy stay, management!

We stay at the Birchwood Lodge every time we come to Door County, and we absolutely love it! Everything is always super clean. We stay in one of the village homes, which are owned by the hotel and just down the road, and it is great for families. Great amenities; we especially love the outdoor pool! In walking distance to downtown Sister Bay and all of the town’s shops and restaurants. Rooms are always fully stocked with pillows, blankets, and lots of dishes and utensils. Lots of space and a great location. We just wish that it was pet friendly to bring our sweet puppy!! Great lodging experience! We highly recommend!

Pleasant surprise! We were fortunate enough to call and pick up a room last minute for that same night of Labor Day weekend. I didn’t have high hopes since literally everything else in the area was booked but we are super happy with this place, pool & hot tub, this room and the clerk- all spectacular and at a reasonable price. Complimentary breakfast and coffee is still canceled due to Covid🙄 and pool is only open till 9pm not the typical 10 or midnight but still a great experience at a great price. Easy couple minute walk across the road to the waterfront where we caught a near perfect sunset and dinner and just about anything else you could want. We would/will come back without hesitation. Nice job!

During our staycation, we decided to “get out of dodge” and ended up at the lovely Birchwood Lodge. Easy registration by phone. Easy check in. Very clean and comfortable room with a jacuzzi hot tub. Awe. Just what we needed.Walkability: Grocery store and restaurants within walking distance.

We have stayed at Birchwood over a dozen times. Love the location-just above downtown Sister Bay (!), so...easy access to restaurants, bars, shops, and the waterfront.The Staff!!!!! Starting with the manager-Roman- Everyone I encounter is friendly, says hello, is Very helpful, has a smile.Their policies for changing reservations due to "life" issues is easy to understand & they are very helpful and accommodating when their schedules allows.Have stayed in rooms, the farmhouse & now the condos. All are well maintained & comfortable.HIGHLY RECOMMEND this hotel 🤗Rooms: So many options to accommodate couples, groups, families. Indoor & outdoor pools, tennis court, bikes to use. The old farmhouse is spacious with 4 bedrooms & 2 baths. A large kitchen for large groups, a living room, and a deck. The condos are roomy & comfortable, and the hotel rooms & suites can work for most needs.Nearby activities: Many restaurants right IN Sister Bay varying from high-end to a local bar/restaurant fav. Stores for clothing, jewelry, and knic-knacs also IN town. And a beautiful marina & beach within walking distance.Walkability: Just outside downtown Sister Bay. Walkable to restaurants, bars, the beach, stores.

A great place to stay! It has a wide variety of rooms from single rooms, suites, condos, or a giant ranch/farm house! The service is amazing, there is only very small issues like an employee being away from the lobby desk often. The location of the hotel and rooms is great, also close to Johnson Park, and several minigolf courses. I'd highly recommend others coming here.

Quiet, clean, convenient, and comfortable! Stayed at the hotel in mid-may which I'm guessing is early or pre-season. Mostly empty. The whole facility was in great shape and very clean. Friendly check in. Room was great with a spacious balcony, large, bathroom, and plenty of space. Would stay here again for sure! Enjoyed the indoor pool and the heated outdoor pool. Only cons would be the pool towels were kind of thin and small, and we needed more towels, pillows, and a blanket for our room which they were prompt and happy to supply.

I have stayed there for the last two years during sister bay fall fest. The stay is great but the pool closes at nine. there are tray outside of every room to put dirty towels and garbage on because there is no room service. I find this absolutely disgusting and gross to walk by someone’s room and find dirty towels laying there. There is no continental breakfast anymore you need to remove it from your website. You also need to remove the sign that is sitting on a table inside the lobby stating you have continental breakfast and guest coffee because there are neither one. when I went to re-book this room for next year I found that this went up a considerable amount over $150 and that was with my 10% rebooking I got. Considering the fact that you have none of the amenities available, your cost should not have gone up. And I will never stay there again.
