I'll start off by saying I grew up in central WI and have been going to this store for years. I've always enjoyed the products and variety, but the quality has gone downhill the last few years. The quality, combined with the increases in their prices, has led several folks I know to prioritize another store, even if it results in a slightly longer drive.It seems to me they now have too many products that don't turn over frequently. On more than one occasion I've bought cheese that has grown mold within a week. I bought multiple products during my latest trip on 10/12/23, and a bag of string cheese didn't even last in the refrigerator for a week without growing green mold. For the increased price per lb this place has started charging over the last few years, I really think a person should be able to expect a little longer shelf life.I'm also not sure why every product doesn't have a manufacture date on it. Some products do, some products don't. In the past, I remember being able to buy cheese curds manufactured the same day. I'm not sure if curds are only produced on certain days of the week now, but there were no same day curds available during my last visit. In my opinion, this store is not quite as commercialized as another central WI cheese store has gotten, but with the expansion/change in ownership, it appears to be well on its way.

Been going to this cheese factory for 40+ years. We go every time we visit family. Love the variety, prices, and sausage. I have to get parmesan, dairy fudge, hot rods, and an ice cream cone every time.Fun watching them make fresh cheese.

This is a cheese lover's dream come true! Not only do they carry amazing house-made favorites - think super fresh, squeaky cheese curds - you can also find aged cheddars (5, 7, or even 9 years); gourmet and party favorites like Edam, Gouda, Brie, and all varieties of goat cheese; good old fragrant limburger; and pretty much any other cheese you may be craving! You will definitely find offerings you never knew existed (tomato basil or horseradish cheese, anyone?). And the PRICES - unbelievable! I have been to other cheese shops, but I can almost guarantee you won't find prices this reasonable anywhere. They are open 7 days a week (9 AM to noon Sundays) to fulfill all your cheese needs and whims!

Amazing selection of cheese made right there in Rudolph, as well as locally made meats, butter, whey products, ice cream, and even imported cheese. Part of the factory is visible through viewing windows so you can watch cheese in production - the kiddos love this! They now take credit/card payment which makes it even easier to spend way too much money on delicious cheeses.

Absolutely horrible experience. Came in with well over 20 minutes to close and they treated us like we were a complete burden. This place has horrible customer service. Seek better cheese elsewhere. Lame. I'd be happy to discuss this experience with anyone that cares to learn more. The girl literally made wait to walk in while she was vacuuming. I went to visit family and we had to make a stop to pick up cheese curds, string cheese and other great cheese products and get some ice cream at the shop in the factory. You can go up stairs and look down on the factory floor. I have going to this place every time I go back home to visit. The cheese products and different flavors are amazing. The ice cream shop is a great treat as well and delicious. If you ever get the chance you need to go there and check it out. I wish they could deliver but they do not. I highly recommend you visit this place in Rudolph Wisconsin. If you like cheese, especially curds, you will love this place. Bring your appetite and your cash so you can taste and buy lots of cheese to take back home with you.

Fantastic cheese producer and store. This place should be a tourist attraction. The viewing of the production floor is fascinating. The upper viewing area gives a panaramic view of the entire plant. The variety and amount of cheese in the retail area is stunning. Prices are exceed reasonable. This place is not to be missed.

Cheese and ice cream!!! Disneyland for your tongue! Huge cheese selection and awesome ice cream. Prices are way reasonable, very worth the trip. The aged cheddar cheeses and Swiss are my favs but the hard Italian cheeses are also great. The chocolate fudge cheese is about the grossest thing I ever put in my mouth and I lived in Asia for 5 years!! The smell alone ... ugh, just thinking about it now makes me squirm!Oh, don't forget the curds!

Do our yearly Christmas shopping there always leaving a couple hundred dollars. Just begin shopping and hear they are closing at 3:30 (Saturday) even though 4:00 is posted everywhere. No problem we hurried but got done in time. Then go to get ice cream at 3:25 and the lady says sorry we are closed, even though the family ahead of us is NOT checked out yet, crushing our sons heart as we promised him icecream all day. This lady ruined our day and we will never return. Other reviews seem to show poor service becoming the new trend here.

Stopped by here along the way on my travels. The location is pretty big. Fresh cheese with a variety of different flavors. It is pretty neat being able to see onto the back as to how the cheese is made in house too. The cashier was friendly, and helped box up all the cheese that I purchased too. Great place to stop by!

Food: The cheese here is high quality. The cheese curds are as fresh as they come. They make most all of the cheese the sell, but they sell a small section of specialty cheeses which they do not make.Service: one easily observes how busy the employees here can be since they are always blocking off and wrapping the cheese in front of you, but they stop to take care of you. Not especially cheerful service, but no less than what is required. Their friendliness is adequate. The food easily makes up for that. The owner is not afraid to talk to the customers and came up to us to tell us about his displays of cheese trays.Building: It is well worth it to visit this factory. They have large windows for you to look out into the factory and observe the process of making cheese. Also, there are many old fashioned cheese-making implements on display and many display cases of beautiful porcelain cheese trays. They keep everything tidy and clean. It is well worth it to give yourself time to examine the decorative and historic collections at this factory.

We love Wisconsin Dairy State cheese. We especially enjoy the fresh cheese curds that come in several flavors. And the prices are very reasonable. They also have an excellent ice cream shop and you can actually watch the cheese being made.

The upper level viewing area is closed. The lower level viewing windows just showed them rinsing equipment. There aren't any samples. We took a chance and bought some cheese we weren't familiar with. We probably would have bought more if we could have tried other cheeses and discovered we liked them. There are lots of kinds of cheese.

I’ve been shopping here for over 15 years and it’s always been a phenomenal experience. Until yesterday. The ambiance is gone. The usually bustling store with happy, smiling employees who go out of their way to help was no more. The place was sterile and without charm. Even the welcoming flower pots outside were gone. The cases of cheese related antiques were all gone, the stock of Sartori cheeses was very low, and while normally there would be lots of employees cutting cheese and restocking - there were only 3 employees behind the counter and they weren’t smiling. The most surprising part? The cheese factory wasn’t running - and I can’t remember a time when cheese curds weren’t in some stage of production on my previous visits. Incredibly sad.
