Recently saw a list of “Top 10 coffee houses in WI” And was extremely surprised that Clean Slate wasn’t on there. Literally one of the coolest atmospheres of a coffee shop I’ve ever been in. Tons of local art, products, and amazing service. Oh, did I mention the drinks and food are incredible and priced reasonably?The owner, Jen, has also been extremely kind and willing to let our local car group host a weekly Cars & Coffee with fellow car enthusiasts at Clean Slate.Wonderful coffee shop. Stop going to Starbucks! Support quality coffee houses like this one!

I like to look for local shops when I'm in a town I usually don't frequent, so when I saw their sign back in February to support local, I figured it was a bit overdue when I returned in March! I got a matcha latte & it was very tasty! The barista suggested sweetener as it came without, so I went with their recommendation and it was very tasty! Not too sweet but not bland at all!:)The inside is very homey and I adore the local coffee shop vibes it gave off! The storefront also further supports the idea of supporting local artists, as there are other goodies inside made by other locals.Thanks for an easy morning on what would turn out to be a bit of a crazy week that week. I'll definitely return when I'm back in the area. ❤️

Not from the area but I always love trying local coffee shops. This was near Rib Mountain which is where I was hiking. The outside appearance reminded me of an old diner, but the inside was a whole new world. It was very artsy and modern, very cute. Their lattes are good but I also tried a Lotus Plant Energy beverage. The cashier said his favorite was Aquamarine so I tried that. It was DELICIOUS. It reminded me of a blue raspberry jolly rancher. Will come again next time I'm in the area.

We are in town for a wedding and our hotel did not have the best coffee. We were craving some good fresh coffee and found Clean Slate close by. First of all we love supporting local shops no matter where we are! This place was so cute, very fun atmosphere inside. My husband and I both got a coffee which was so rich and delicious that we even bought a bag to take home. We also ordered a bacon and Gouda burrito and a bagel with cream cheese - both very very good. Friendly staff. Wish we lived closer so we could come here all the time!!

Excellent smoothies and breakfast burritos.Atmosphere is welcoming, so much natural lighting. Artwork and personal touches really make this place a treat for the eyes and soul.

Absolutely the friendliest coffee house I've ever been to, and the best coffee! Clean Slate staff will treat you like a person, not just a number on a receipt. This is the only coffee house I will go to. You want the best? Go here! ( and try the Candy Bar macchiatto!)

Clean Slate is always very inviting and has NEVER made my drink incorrectly. I have introduced a few friends who have some allergies (milk/nut) and they are now regulars when they are in the area. The very kind staff and upbeat personalities always make my day better once visiting them. HIGHLY recommend this place as they truly listen to your order and will get it right. Ohh and the Bacon Gouda Burrito is AMAZING!!!!Dietary restrictions: Multiple items for those with allergies.Kid-friendliness: They have a cute chest full of cars that kids get to take home with them! (1 per child) also have coloring books :)

My favorite place in town!STAFF: The staff are all AMAZING and so friendly. Jen and her team are always so kind. They also know their stuff and are able to make a drink that is both vegan and nut-free for me.KID FRIENDLY: They are also super welcoming to my infant daughter and have clean bathrooms with changing tables*DRINKS: Their Chai is the absolute best in town and maybe even in the state. I've tried a ton both in the Wausau area and the Milwaukee area and none come even close to beating Clean Slate's. On the rare occasion I don't order a chai, their matcha and frappes are also super yummy.

I was a bit harsh in my 1rst review but I got the owners attention to air my grievence. I was a little upset when I wrote it. So I will say that the customer service was excellent. The coffee was good. But I will stand by that there is a lot of room for improvement. To make it in today's business. You have to serve at least donuts or a pastry. I would be happy with a little pastry that you have frozen and throw in the microwave. You have to catch the crowd coming and going to work between 2pm and 4pm. I would love to see Clean State succeed. I would love to continue to stop.

I first went here to meet one of my mentors back when it opened around 2/3 years ago. I didn't have anything special to say about it. I was wondering if they would make it especially because Starbucks started building shortly after they opened. But, I just came back today after a while and wow.They expanded their portion of the building a bit and it's really amazing in there.Great service from very friendly people.Great coffee and lunches.Amazing atmosphere.Great art in the building.Involved in the community.Wifi makes it a great place to get some remote work done.They even have a drive through if you're in a rush.Will be working out of here the rest of the time I'm back in town.Parking: Lot's of space to park.
