Back in may 2023 I fell on some hard times and I had to take the dogs to Black River Falls which is in Jackson County Wisconsin to the Humane Society I'm under the understanding that one was adopted out to a very good home that is so great to hear however my daughter is very upset with me because she wanted that dog but I had to do what I had to do and the other dog that was a very hard decision to let go of him and I miss him very much if I had the chance I would have kept him he was my emotional support animal and now I've been having a hard time mentally with the loss of both of those amazing animals I love animals with all my heart I still have that Green toy that he used to have and I can't get rid of and her my daughter misses so much along with me I still have her toys they're all memories their names was Thor and Lily then to my understanding they had to put thor down wish they did not do that

We have a recurring order through Chewy for can dog food because during the pandemic we could not find our dog food and didn't want to change the kind we fed our 1 dog. We now have 3 dogs and 2 of them can't have chicken products so we don't need all that dog food anymore. I decided we should donate to Jackson County Animal Shelter. We went there today at 1:10. The sign said open at 1:00. There was no one there but 4 cars waiting and some left instead of waiting. We almost left and at 1:20 they pulled in. We had 46 cans of dog food. We walked in, were not greeted in any way. The one young gal was checking messages on the phone it appeared. The main lady, Barb, that is "in charge" there walked in the entrance by us and was going to walk right past us, again without greeting us. I blurted out to her, while Ron stands there holding this heavy box full of canned food that we have some food to donate. She says "just put it over there on the bench," pointing to a benched seat area. She then left the room into the cat area. We stood looking through the glass at the doggies for a bit. She never came back out, she never thanked us for our generosity, still no greeting from anyone!! We left. Ron was upset by this, as was I. Ron said from now on we'll donate to someone we know instead!It's unfortunate that we couldn't get some sort of greeting or anything!

I took a kitty to them that has been sleeping under my house. They immediately accepted him . I was very impressed with their kitty room . The gals were very good and even chatted with us for quite some time. The cat room was nice and clean and kitties all looked happy. . Thank you for all you ladies do for them..

I live in Hayward WI and i go here for my animals. I have a boa constrictor and he really likes Barb. Even ask her herself. Over all the place is up to date. And the coffee there is wonderful. Barb love my dog to. She licks every time he come in. Keep up the good work.s. HI Big boys!!!!

Very nice place. Barb is very nice, great with the kids. She is all ways letting volunteers come and help out there. Cat room is very clean and does not smell as bad as I have heard. The dog room is very clean as well. I am impressed about the Shelter and with Barb. I hope it will stay the way it is right now.

They make you feel extra guilty when you surrender your animal. Don't ever meet in person, do it in their safe pen. The old lady is the worst. 🙃🖕

They work really hard to keep animals in Jackson County safe and loved. Shout out to Barb and Moriah (the two I'm most familiar with) for all of their efforts!

I would add the place is a little too small but other than that great.Needs a pic from the front yes they would have to be on the fair grounds for that.

I adopted a 15 year old cat the process was simple and now I have a handsome old man who cuddles me
