Editing this review because of the new reply from the owner. I was not let go or fired, I quit on my own accord after being accused of things I didn’t do over the phone by my drunk boss, who by the timeframe was clearly drunk during open business hours. I also don’t understand why my customer service ability was brought into question as that had nothing to do with my review. Seems I’ve struck a nerve.Personally would not board my dog here. I worked here for only two weeks and I would not recommend trusting Dave with your dog. While I worked there, I witnessed him yell at and use fear tactics on more ‘difficult’ dogs and we were taught to use pepper spray on aggressive dogs. Personally, this is not behavior I’d want coming from someone I should be trusting my pets with. One incident with a pit bull resulted in all future bullies to be ‘out alone’ dogs, even when they were the sweetest babies. Aside from some appalling behavior towards the animals, when I went to pick up my first paycheck, I was in the office maybe 5 minutes max to sign and mobile deposit my check, which then on my car ride home, Dave called me drunk to accuse me of stealing money. Mind you this was hardly 15 minutes after close and he was drunk… makes you wonder if he was drunk on the job. I was also told by other staff that the drunken calling and verbal abuse and accusations were not uncommon. Please think carefully if boarding your pet here. All other staff are wonderful, but the owner himself of pretty iffy.

We boarded out dog there this past week and we were very impressed with the kennels. The kennels were very clean, as well as the rest of the facilities. The staff was very kind and courteous and attentive to all special instructions for our dog. Checkin and checkout were simple and I would recommend Paws at Play to anyone looking to board their animal around the Rice Lake area.

We have a 5 year old German shorthair. She had never been boarded before, and we chose Paws at Play because it was the closest kennel to our niece's wedding. We were bracing ourselves for a difficult drop off. Dave the owner could not have been nicer. Our dog felt comfortable from the moment she ran into the office. We picked her up on day two to take her on a walk in the woods, then dropped her off before the rehearsal dinner...no hesitation at all from her when we dropped her off on day two. The day three pick up was great. I highly recommend this place. Clean, friendly, professional...everything you would hope for, and price is quite reasonable.

Great place for daycare and boarding. Very clean facilities, kind and attentive staff. My dog always starts getting very excites when we turn down the road for Paws at Play. Highly recommend.

Paws at Play is awesome! Very nice and clean place and the owners are very friendly. They provided great care for my dog and I felt comfortable leaving her there. I stay in Chetek for a week every year and decided to start boarding my dog up there for the week so she would be close and I could see her throughout the week. They got her in at the last minute and were very easy to work with. They are nice people and I knew my dog would be cared for and would get to play with other dogs. Their setup is awesome and they keep it clean. I will definitely bring my dog back here every year on vacation. It's worth the drive from Chetek!

We got referred by some friends...they highly recommended Paws at Play. I must say I was amazed! The buildings are awesome. Ive never felt so relaxed about leaving our new puppy. I even got a quick video of new puppy playing. Very clean and the affordable! Actually excited for our lab to go back for mote fun!

This place exceeds all expectations! I am so glad we found it. Facilities are super pristine and kept in new condition. Dogs get lots of play time and exercise. The staff is very friendly and attentive to each dog. They work with me and my weird work schedule, honestly I'm not sure what I'd do without them. Prices are very reasonable.

Absolutely the best! Our dog had fun during her stay, playing with the other dogs in the big fenced-in run. The place is always clean and it's obvious that the owners really care about the dogs. I highly recommend Paws at Play!

Dogs were only let out 2-3 times a day - NOT enough and when picked up, they and their beds were covered in feces and locked in a (just big enough) kennel to lay in. Do not take your dog there! You will regret it. They have no clue how to properly care for your pet!

our 3 dogs , love it here. the care they receive makes us feel comfortable leaving them! bonus, A.C. or heated floors depending on weather, they stay comfortable.we love that someone lives on the property while our dogs are staying there. we feel they are safe and secure at all times .highly recommended!

This is the first time we have used a boarding kennel. Paws at Play exceeded my expectations.Very clean with spacious kennels, and lots of room for our Lambeau to run.

The staff are great with the animals. This facility is very clean and dogs get to spend more time outside for playtime than any other kennel I have seen. Playtime is supervised as well.
