Best bookstore in the Northwoods!! We love the owners and their puppy dog. They are very knowledgeable about books of all kinds, and go out of the way to help you find what you want. They are kind, knowledgeable, and really good people! My kids LOVE this place! They have an excellent hidden kid area for kids to sit and read or play, in a Chronicles of Narnia style wardrobe and the most amazing bathroom I've ever seen- it's Alien decor and glows in the dark. So cool! The books are very generously and fairly priced. This is one of our top three favorite places in the Northwoods.

We drove an hour to this book store because we heard they have a dog. Coda was 10/10, even though I only got to see her for 27.5 seconds. She has demanding and more important job duties. The books are so neatly organized. It was so easy to find a few I was looking for. Prices were so reasonable. I will definitely make the drive back to this awesome place. Hopefully next time I can have at least 45 seconds with Coda.

Every time I come in here, I end up getting a few cards and a few books! There are rooms and rooms of bookshelves, and the proprietor will happily show you anything. And the books are categorized so browsing is a breeze! Highly recommended for anyone who reads or collects books!

JC Weddle is my favorite bookstore ever. My top 5 reasons.1. The store is clean and thoughtfully organized and has a huge variety of books. You never know what you’ll find and there are often delightful surprises.2. Their pricing is very reasonable. Even when I go to just browse, there’s often an inexpensive book or 5 that sneak into pile at the checkout. 🤪3. The owners and their frequent MVP of the month, Coda, are nice, helpful and the perfect combination of willing to help and letting us browse.4. The store has more personality than most and it’s so fun. Between the Wardrobe in the children’s area, alien bathroom and funky book art, it’s interesting to wander through, even if you don’t pick up a book.5. You never know what treasures you’ll find. I adore all of Cindy’s artistic endeavors-book folding, crafts made from books, book boxes and more. They also randomly have other unique items. It’s worth popping in regularly because there always seems to be something new and interesting.

Rhinelander is a lovely community and one I call home. I have a "thing" for bookstores, always have. When I discovered this gem I was beyond delighted and they didn't disappoint me in the least! The individual rooms in which to wander are made magical as the shelves are marked using old Scrabble tiles. This is because the owners are super-dooper creative. As well as knowledgeable and hospitable. And funny.They share their sweet dog Coda with each guest and to this date she hasn't tinkled on a single customers shoe! However I think the owners should teach her to do that for the few shoplifters that have sullied the place.The kids room is amazing and each child that finds the secret room is transported to a magical place all their own.As a member of the senior crowd I'm VERY grateful for the neatest, most creative bathroom in the entire town! My first visit there it was the FIRST room I needed to find. As I sat there meditating to the sound of the clapping of one hand I just KNEW I was in for a treat with the rest of the store and I sure was!Besides the great selection of books (which I think are priced almost too low) you can find a few collectible/antique offerings as well as other goodies like snacks and greeting cards. Take the kids and wander in. I promise you won't be disappointed. But be prepared...they are located right next door to McDonald's.

A wonderful bookstore - clear they’ve put a lot of time and consideration into their space. The woman working at the counter was very friendly and there was a bookstore pup who came to say hi. The prices are low, and all three of us who visited left with a whole armful of exciting finds! 📚

This place is a new treasure in the Northwoods. Worth the 40 minute drive from our location. So beautifully organized. Adorable individual rooms with a great variety of old treasures and newer releases. For example I got a hardback copy of a relatively new mystery release in pristine condition for $3. At the same time there are some old treasures as well. Beautiful old books! The kids section was solid as well. The owners obviously take great pride in this new shop. Super reasonable prices. Such a delight. A great place for a rainy day stop. I will be back!!!!

This place is so amazing. It’s very well organized, the selection was fantastic, and the prices are very low. The bathroom was super cool, and unexpected.I was really excited to find the hidden room! And lastly, I’m a sucker for a shop dog. I’ll definitely visit again when I’m in the area.

Such a great spot! They have a good selection of books from many genres. Personally, I really like the selection of older classics. I have been a few times and always found several things that were on my "been meaning to buy that" list. Adorable shop dog.

What a wonderful book store. There is an impressive selection of books, and the sections are well organized. The store also offers many creative book-related items. Staff is friendly and helpful (and a sweet and very calm dog greets you as well).

Delightful place. Loved the wardrobe (lright out of c.s. lewis' the lion, the witch and the wardrobe). The book folding art is incredible! Be sure to check out the bathroom; it's out of this world.
