The store itself is fine and employees are always pleasant.They have a drive-through pharmacy, which is super convenient but typical wait time is 30 to 45 minutes. It would be nice if they could figure out a way to streamline that.

This place can't get much right. I've repeatedly requested my maintenance meds to mailed and they can't get it right. No more chances for you walgreens. Time to go to Walmart. It's supposed to be one of the busiest Walgreens in the nation and they can't keep up.

I am a pharmacy technician at this location and no one sees the back side of this process. Yes we are short staffed, yes we are doing our best, yes we can only do what the doctors off or ER sends to us. Just because they say they sent it does NOT mean it was sent correctly. It’s not a fast process by any means. We are human and so are the doctors and nurses that send these fax - we work as a team to reassure that your scripts are correct to the best of our ability. We are not the ones responsible for your prescription coverage, we do what we are allowed to do - we do NOT make the rules. I can honestly say that this job will test your patience, your kindness and your compassion. I have worked many jobs with the public and I can safely say I have never been talked to so rudely as I have here. Many of us leave work so upset and rundown. We all have issues that we deal with in our lives that no one is aware of - but that does NOT give us the right to lash out at people! Be kind to others. Stop complaining! We are filling your medication NOT making you a burger and fries! Thank you for listening

Good service and experience on a Sunday night at the service and photo counter .The young lady at the counter was were very helpful, I made a mistake printing off some photo cards and they gladly let me exchange for a new set and got them done while I waited no problem.

Most of the store is nice. As most reviews say, the problem is the pharmacy. First time here, they told me it'd be 15 minutes to get my prescription. It took three hours.Second (and hopefully last) trip it wasn't as slow, but the pharmacy staff were rude, unfriendly, and unattentitive. The employee saw I had had my prescription filled through Walgreens before, didn't even ask if I had questions, and just sent me to talk to the pharmacist, wasting more people's time.

If staff could be any slower, we would go back in time! Argue about my speed pay and refuse to use it because my spouse is mysteriously not on the profile after decades! I have been paying with the speed pay for years and now it's an issue? 3 attempts because the line was so long the previous days. Nearly 20 cars. Inside just as bad at pharmacy. Walgreens needs to rename itself to Waste My Time... The TEXT alert failed. This script was ready and still took a quarter hour to get the the script picked up once at the window. One person is killing your efficiency not that you had any. This was not any other staff delay except the checkout staff. Rather than argue, put my spouse on the profile and move on! Even cars behind me were getting involved asking what the point of speed pay is!!!

I've been going to Walgreens most of my life for my prescriptions. the past few years the pharmacy service has gotten slower and slower. It's to the point where I will routinely have to wait 30-40 minutes for RX refills. It doesn't matter on the time of day. When I try to use the shipping option it doesn't seem to work and I get voicemails about cancelling my order and resubmitting it. I've been sending my new prescriptions to Wilz in town and have had much more success, wait times are only 5 minutes max.

Do not use this walgreens for ANY kind of medications. The pharmacy staff are SUPER rude as i am sitting in the lobby waiting for a perscription that they said was ready and was now just told to leave because they dont have it and to check in tomorrow.. keep in mind this perscription was for INSLUIN that is NEEDED TO SURVIVE. this walgreens has NO system in the pharmarcy. It is like walking in to bull in a china shop.I always thought walgreens was better then this.. Been using walgreens for 15+ years for my diabeties and other medical issues over the years and have NEVER been treated the way i get treated at the portage location for over a year and half now.. Im done with walgreens unless its in a well known more popular town...

Absolutely awful! The lady in the pharmacy drive through started on my meds and then moved on to the next lane without giving me meds! Then tells me she had trouble finding it and it won’t fit through the tube so I will have to come inside! She never left her register so lies! Incompetent staff. Wait times is at a minimum of 35-45 minutes and I have been in line over an hour before!

I would give a 000. Worst drive thu. Ever. I was waiting 15 mins on the far side and a car pulled up to the front one waited 5 mins and the lady helped them 1st. Pay attention who's been waiting longer. Don't be to fast to snap at people when they hit the call button. There's a reasonwhy there's a call button. I didn't even get a chance to tell her. Because she just started Bitchin that she is the only one there.

If I could give zero I would. It's bad enough you have to wait in line forever for a prescription...I called mine in yesterday afternoon and the recording said I could pick it up after 10 am. Well...I went there at 2:15 pm and after waiting in line for a half hour, I was informed it wasn't filled yet. This was the last straw for this pharmacy. Very very poor.

I would give a zero if that were an option. I’ve been getting my medicine here for well over a decade. The service has dramatically declined since Covid. I don’t know if there’s a direct correlation or not. Most people go through the drive through for their medication because they feel it should be quicker than going inside the store or because they have health issues. I use the drive through for both reasons. I’ve gone at various times during the day and the wait time to get your medicine is no less than 10 minutes. One time, after seeing the drive through line out to the road, I went into the store thinking it would be faster-nope…… the wait time was even longer!! Staff are always rushed and running around in a frenzied state. It’s obvious they aren’t staffed adequately and I see that as a safety issue being they dispense medicine. Today I waited in line, again for 10 minutes and probably longer, as the staff SLOWLY instructed someone in their car how to do a Covid test, repack it, etc. Shouldn’t that be done inside the store in that cubby office they have for flu shots? So I finally get my turn only to be told my meds weren’t ready….the ones I ordered a refill on Thursday, and it now being Saturday!! They said they were short staffed because of the holiday. So now I have to wait another 15 minutes to refill my meds that I requested days ago!! I’m slowly transitioning my meds to Walmart pharmacy. Yes you have to go in the store, but my wait time there has thus far been less than three minutes EACH visit. Save yourself the time and frustration and take your business elsewhere!!!!!

The young red headed girl who works here is mean and nasty 100% of the time I have ever shopped here! She has snapped at me over simply asking her a question. She gives people dirty looks and seems to intentionally trying to be the slowest employee she can possibly be. I won’t shop here anymore while she works here.

First and last time i will be using this pharmacy. I was just placed on hold for an hour and a half to be hung up on once I reached the front of the queue. I have gotten no updated on what my prescription status is from anybody.

Was on hold for 50 minutes to ask about my prescriptions that were transferred from another pharmacy. Was told they were all ready. Drove the 30 minutes to pick them up, waited in line 35 minutes to be told that they were not ready. Got out of line to wait another almost 45 minutes to be told that they would not be ready until tomorrow. Called there this morning, have been on hold for 48 minutes and “still have at least 3 callers ahead of you”. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Usually have everything I need. Though there is a mix up, of some kind, (often getting a partial fill, forcing me to drive back) 3/4 times of the year, going each month. It is a busy pharmacy in a small area so some mistakes are to be expected.

Made an appointment online for Covid testing. Had to drive 30 miles to a different Walgreens than I normally go to, After arriving for the appointment five minutes early at the drive-through, with the wait of four cars ahead of me, I was told that they didn't know I was coming. Well that sure is surprising because I received a confirmation email. LOL. Was told that I needed to drive back around and get back in line. I'm waiting again behind a line of four cars. Walgreens in general needs to get some management and some help to the pharmacy. The problem is they are way overwhelmed with work.At this point I have been waiting 45 minutes. And I still have two cars ahead of me. Wow

This is a really great place to get medicine if you can spend your entire day being repeatedly told "it'll just be 15 minutes."I think this place is being run by someone who is unaware that they're distributing medicine. With medicine comes urgency, and that has never once been reflected at this embarrassment of a facility.Never going back. I hope they shut it down and give Portage a 17th automotive store in its place.

My god this is PAINFULLY slow today 6/12. 2nd in line yet neither sides are being served. Waited 47 minutes before getting to the front. There is no excuse for this slow. Would pay to have them shipped if only that were an option.

Very long wait at checkout, and your prescription will likely not be ready when you get there even if you receive a txt saying it is ready.Have fun waiting!After one hour of waiting I asked how much longer, and they told me it was already ready. They had me sitting there for AN HOUR and didn’t announce in any way that the refill was ready. I sat in the chair next to the checkout the whole time.Worst customer service possible

I understand all of you deserve a lunch break, then the lanes should be closed outside. We’ve been sitting behind a van for 25 minutes waiting for our prescriptions. Along with 8 other people. I had to call and listen to the voicemail to know this. I would love to back up but that isn’t an option.

If you need to speak with the dispensing pharmacy itself forget it! They claim you are 2nd in line in the queue but they never answer! It's happened numerous times in the last week. If I want any answers I have to drive 1/2 hour to the pharmacy to ask my question.

Drive through wait is usually horrible for prescriptions, employees will follow customers around the store in a very obvious manner as if they're trying to steal, even when they're just browsing for sales. Really tacky and poor customer service. The pharmacy crew is usually very pleasant though, on a positive note...have to add to this because I just had another horrible experience with this store! Came inside the store looking for luggage tags or something similar so I asked the rep at the front register named Angela. She told me they would be in aisle 20 if they had them and pointed to the back wall. I asked, "by the back wall"? And she proceeded to walk over to the aisle, clearly annoyed that she had to actually move, and pointed to the aisle saying in slow motion "this is an aisle"....extremely rude and obnoxious. Portage Walgreens: hire normal people please. You're failing.

Walgreens has cut the amount of employees available to help you so their service has gone downhill even though even with all the covid money they must be getting they're still cutting cost by not having enough people I will be moving on to a different pharmacy evidently Walgreens has gotten so big they don't care whether they keep customers because they got too many of them

Had bad luck here. Didn't help patients with finding lower cost alternatives for drugs in same class. That work is on prescriber. Would recommend using local alternatives.
