My wife called the store asking about their handyman service and the woman on the phone was extremely rude, complaining they were too busy and she didn't have time to answer questions. We won't step foot in the store now. With customer service like that they won't be around long anyway.

Excellent selection for hardware items, especially in plumbing, electrical and home/garden items. I specifically go to Walsh's Ace for the their excellent selection of bird seed and feeders. You can get seed in bulk at very competetive pricing. Staff is also friendly and knowledgeable. Well worth the special trip, every time.

Got what I needed and was very satisfied with the product. The associate that helped me was very helpful and courteous. Unfortunately getting attention and assistance was a problem. Upon entering there was one checkout person who didn't acknowledge my exsistance nor did she offer to direct me to the area of the store I needed. There were no other associates in site so when I found the area there was no help. Went back to the checker for help she didn't acknowledge me again! Frustrated I just started calling out for help in the dept I needed it as there was no bell or ph or sign as to how to otherwise get help. Finally help arrived and did a wonderful job. I wish customer service was more important as that is what keeps a business running.

Was looking for lawnmower blade for Husvarna push mower tried Tractor Supply and they couldn't help said model number we had wasn't in their computer systems. Went to Portage Ace Hardware and people behind counter tried one but wasn't right one but were able to find in their book and ordered one for me will be in Tuesday or Wednesday. Big Thank You

5 employees walking around 6 people in line and the cashier didn't call for help then I finally get to the cashier she tells me the total...watches me swipe my card.... I ask her how to do credit and she says did you swipe your card? I said no I didn't swipe my card it's just asking me for a pin number...
