Our precious 4 year old cat had experienced a handful of very traumatic seizures since Christmas. We called a local emergency vet in a panic after the first episode and got him in to be seen with our regular vet soon after. We were told by that vet that Gus had a lot of static from the dry winter air and was being shocked my our Christmas tree. This answer never sat well with us as it didn’t explain him evacuating his bladder and foaming at the mouth during these very concerning episodes. I didn’t feel our concerns and fears for our beloved cat were taken seriously.After an episode this week caused him to fall down the stairs we went to a new vet to receive a second opinion. We saw Dr. Brittany Bahl at The Platteville Vet Clinic. She listened to our concerns, she was caring and took her time. She did a thorough examination and obtained a full history and quickly knew exactly what was happening to our boy. He was being poisoned by the topical flea preventative I was using on our dog. I feel terrible. I had no idea. We have always purchased these products from our vet’s office so we presumed they were safe and we also had our cat to the vet for these episodes and yet no one knew…until today. Thank you to Platteville Veterinary Clinic and Dr. Brittany Bahl for everything ❤️

Took my dog for a rabies shot and to get her nails trimmed. Nails were not trimmed due to my dog being extremely hyper from her anxiety of the place. I’ve gone here for years and they have always been respectful. Not this day. The vet was rude to me the entire time and I was not aware of payment being required right away. The vet was not at all professional to me when I asked questions to her. She put off trimming nails with a very inappropriate response. I do not wish to come here again. I would rather drive to another town’s veterinary clinic rather than experience anything from this clinic again. Not to mention, the bill was outrageous. If you care about your pets and actually want to be treated like a human being by these workers, good luck. They are not professional in the SLIGHTEST. DO NOT GO TO THIS CLINIC.

I've been taking animals here for 20 years,at least. They do have payment options, and work well for me. They are good about telling you if there may be an issue with your pet, sometimes issues that you aren't aware of

Spent $400 there to get my cat spayed and declawed plus shots….but they don’t have time to see my cat when she’s hurt…call Saturday morning and 8 and they tell me to wait til monday!!! Will never go there again

Very caring vet clinic, my cat has had quite a few medical issues in the past year and she was brought into Platteville Vet Clinic today for the first time. The staff is very friendly and Dr. Salzmann is very compassionate and nice, she’s professional but told me how it is regarding my cat. She referred us to another clinic that would be able to treat my cat’s needs better than they could and did all she could to confirm the diagnosis the best she could. I can see why many of the community members swear by Platteville Vet Clinic.

My parents had their livestock cared for by this clinic as well as family pets. Always a warm environment with knowledgeable staff. My cat survived a severe butter incident because of their prompt care. Simon ate a half a stick of butter and was very sick. Thanks to this clinic he’s doing great.

This is a great place to take your pets and farm animals. The staff are friendly and kind. My dog had ultrasound dental scaling under anesthesia for only $188. Compare that to the $2000 they were going to charge me in Chicago. I am more than pleased and it was well worth the trip

Platteville Veterinary Service was our family's vet of choice for the animals we had while I was growing up, and I have continued the tradition with my now 4th pet of my adulthood (about 35 years of service). Dr. Kieler has been the best - always called to follow up, always took excellent care of our animals, and even saved our (now-passed and long-lived) cat by doing an exploratory surgery and thorough check of his entire digestive system when he began throwing up. Dr. Molly, in my short acquaintance with her, is just as fabulous. The other staff are super helpful and friendly, and I rarely have to wait more than a day for an appointment. In emergencies (usually holidays), I have been able to speak directly with my vet within minutes.The love that lives in my home is boosted significantly by my lab, Freia, and it is obvious that the people at Platteville Vet understand how important she is to me and care for her accordingly. I wouldn't choose anywhere else.

I'm thankful to have Platteville vet because they will give me support and advice about my pets without having to necessarily bring them in. For example I have to go. That are complete pains to transport into town, nor do I want someone to come out and treat them. With a little bit of support, I'm usually able to handle things on my own. I very much appreciate having them to support me.

Despite a very poor first impression, I returned for a second round of unprofessional, disrespectful, discourteous treatment at this hornets' nest of a 'business.' How PVC,LLP is in business is a mystery to me. What an incredibly miserable group of employees with the exception of one large animal vet.I wouldn't return for services if I were paid. I was treated as if I was being done a favor for spending $600at PVC this month. While I was respectful and polite, I was insulted and treated poorly. NEVER GOING BACK. I don't recommend. It's a longer drive, but I'm going back to Colonial Terrace in Dubuque. Life is hard enough, why pay to be abused?

Best vet I have ever been to. I would strongly recommend anyone take they animals there. My dog Buster had a seizure they got me in right away. Every issue from worms to over reaction on my part has been treated wonderfully. Dr kieler. And Dr Jess follows up and stays on top of everything. Even doing next day calls. Won't take Buster anywhere else.

I've had a few bad experiences here first was my best friends dog. They tried to say she was malnourished when she was just in extreamly good shape (hunting hound) second was just today my girlfriend took an kitten in that we where trying to nurse back to health. The staff was so unprofessional its sickening and makes me mad.. they suggested to euthanize the kitten which my girlfriend decided was probably best. They took the kitten away from her to a different room while they euthanized the kitten. They didnt even ask or offer to let her be with the kitten as they put it down.. I would NOT recommend this vet for anyone pets not mine not my friends or family if you can avoid this place i would

I took my roommate's cat to get looked at for a possible urinary tract infection and decided to take her here. Not only did they ignore me for a few minutes while I was waiting at the front desk but they decided to treat her without testing to see if I was correct or not on her diagnosis (I have no vet experience whatsoever) and the treatment didn't work but just made her sicker than she was before. From the look of the medication they gave her it looks like they used large animal medication on her instead of something for a small animal. I would not recommend taking your animal here for treatment.

Dr. Salzmann is very compassionate. We had to put our dog to sleep due to cancer and she was right there with the whole time. She has a heart of gold. Thank you for being there for us ❤️
