Carole and Crew are so amazing. They worked very hard with us, our other dogs and the rescue dog we were interested in, making all of us comfortable and the transition bringing in our new rescue pup into our home. I would give them 10 plus stars if I could!

A little over a month ago I got my Paws from GPRW. I cannot say enough good things about Carole and her crew. Paws has a birth defect which caused him to have a front leg amputated. Despite this challenge Carole took him in with loving arms and gave him all the physical, emotional, and medical help he needed, even after I got him! She never stopped advocating for him and through fate we got him! Carole treats each and every one of the rescued dogs as family. She works effortlessly and sometimes exhausted just to give these dogs the WORLD! I would adopt from Carole and GPRW over and over again! These dogs are her life and she devotes everything to them and their well being. Please, whether you’re looking to take in a forever companion, or looking to give up a current companion, consider Carole and GPRW. She will make sure you and your fur baby get the best care and support in this world! I seriously could go on forever!

I gave this rescue five stars because these dogs need homes like so many others, so I didn't want to deter anyone. Carole is a very nice person who obviously cares about these dogs, and she has a really nice shelter located on her beautiful property to house these wonderful creatures. With that being said, I am disappointed in the communication. We traveled an hour with our baby, toddler, and senior dog to meet Paws, a three-legged dog, and had a great meet and greet with him. I told Carole I was willing to buy a wheelchair for him and love him to no end. We had just lost our young dog to cancer. After minimal emails for over a week, she finally said we could foster him. When I asked how long before we could actually adopt, I received no reply. This was all through email. She said her phone does not work after I left a few messages. But this apparently wasn't God's plan anyway, because we went on to rescue 11 dogs from being euthanized in Texas, and I have now started my own dog rescue. Please give this rescue a chance, and hopefully you will have better luck.

I have adopted 2 Great Pyrenees from Carole and her crew. They are ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL to work with!!!!! They really care about the dogs and make sure they go to the best possible forever home. And if there is some type of an issue with a dog, she makes sure to work very hard with that dog so it can find it’s forever home. Great Pyrenees Rescue of WI is just amazing with what they do!!!

I absolutely recommend these wonderful people. We were stuck in a difficult situation where we had to re-home two of our girls. It was the hardest decision to make but we reached out to the rescue for help. They took in our babies and have found them both an amazing home together. They are sisters and so very bonded. Thanks to the Great Pyrenees Rescue of Wisconsin, my girls will not have to be separated and I get frequent updates. They checked every application that came in, right down to home visits, to find the perfect home.

I have been working with Great Pyrenees Rescue for several years and have never been disappointed. The quality and care and devotion given to these dogs is second to none. Recently, we will adopt our second Pyr from GPRW, and the process was very smooth and satisfying. We never had to wait for responses because they were always quick and convenient. We have received professional advice from everything from crating to pet insurance. I would strongly recommend this organization to anyone interested in providing a furever home to these majestic dogs in need of rescue.

This is a little different, but Carole is the reason I shared my life for 11yrs and 2 months with the most exceptional dog on the planet.My first Pyr, Maya, was 6 months old and had decided that she wouldn’t be house trained. I finally had enough and reached out to Carole to see if she would take Maya. She responded kindly, but asked a question “you want to rehome her because she’s a puppy?” That hit home. She “was” a puppy, and Carole’s words kickstarted me into being a better dog owner.Maya went on to become a therapy dog with a special affinity for special needs children and the elderly. She was, and always will be, my best friend. And I came so close to not having her be part of my life. Thank God for Carole.Also, this rescue is volunteer based, and sometimes it can take a little while to hear back. But you will hear back. And just remember that while you’re waiting, they’re helping people like me who randomly contact them with a Pyr in need. They’re kind and good and exceptionally caring, and anybody would be privileged to adopt a dog through them.
