I stopped in with my sister at high noon, the place couldn't be busier. We were seated within minutes and waited on promptly. I got a "hot" sub but my turkey was barely warm. The bread is so soft and FRESH! I had a side choice with my sandwich, my sister did not. I got pasta salad and it was EXCELLENT, I would stop for takeout on this item alone! My sister's sandwich came with a half a handful of potato chips. I feel like for the price of these subs a side should be offered for all, my sister added on a pasta salad. The sodas come in plastic bottles with a cup of ice if you choose to use it. Our waitress Laura was very friendly and attentive. There is street parking if you're lucky enough to get it and ample parking around the corner. The street is very busy so be careful, this is right off the highway.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Picnic Basket Restaurant and I must say, it was an absolutely fantastic experience. This place truly lives up to its reputation as one of the best sandwich shops in the area.First and foremost, the sandwiches here are not your ordinary sandwiches. Each one is carefully crafted with fresh and high-quality ingredients, making them stand out from the rest. I had the BLT and it was hands down one of the best I have ever had. The bacon was perfectly crispy and the lettuce and tomato were incredibly fresh. But what really caught my attention was the option to upgrade to the BLT Marathon, which comes with a whopping 26 pieces of bacon! As a bacon lover, I was tempted to try it and I might just have to on my next visit.Aside from the amazing sandwiches, the atmosphere at The Picnic Basket is cozy and inviting. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home. The service was also top-notch, with my order coming out quickly and accurately. What sets The Picnic Basket apart from other sandwich shops in the area is their attention to detail and commitment to quality. You can tell that they take pride in their food and truly care about their customers' satisfaction.Overall, I give The Picnic Basket Restaurant a well-deserved 5 stars. From the delicious sandwiches to the fantastic service, everything about this place exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend stopping by and trying one of their unique and mouth-watering sandwiches. Trust me, you won't regret it.

First time getting food here, and I was not disappointed. Busy during Saturday lunch rush made picking from the menu a little hectic but there is not a bad option available. A little wait for fresh made is expected.Parking: Be careful parking and getting in and out of your car on this moderately traveled street.

Great place to eat!!! We stopped here after a trip to Holy Hill to see the fall leaves from the tower. The subs we had were great! They offer gluten free bread for all the sandwiches!! We also HAD to have a huge Rice Krispie treat and that was super yummy! They offer deli sides such as pasta salad, coleslaw and kettle chips. I would recommend stopping and trying it out. They also offer curbside pick up if you order online! I can’t forget to mention the service was amazing too! Everyone there was super nice!

I stopped by today to pick up lunch on my way home. The woman who helped me was so nice and the staff all had a great attitude. Very friendly service and the food was delicious! I will have to make this a more frequent stop when I am in the area. Thank you for a great experience and amazing food!

Good food and reasonable price. The sandwiches were big and filling. Nice local place for a quick meal. Seems like a very popular place, as there were a lot of people stopping in to pickup big catering orders. I got the bada bing and really liked it. I’d like to try one of the hot subs next time.

Michelle and Anne were so helpful! Me and my Fiance went in to place our catering order and they were both so attentive and patient as we sorted out the details. They went out of their way to make sure the order was accurate and helped us with our special dietary needs for our GF and vegan friends. Thru it all they were very friendly and genuinely excited to help us with the food for our wedding. Thank you!!Vegetarian options: They have a few options and are willing to walk you thru making a sandwich that adheres to your dietary needs.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and vegetarian options available

The Picnic Basket is the best sandwich shop in Wisconsin, and probably the entire United states. The aPorkalypse is divine, their Reubens are delightful, and the dead ends of garlic bread are fantastic. We spot every time we are in the area and the quality of food and service has never dropped. Stop in for a sandwich and get your tastebuds rocked.Vegetarian options: They have salads and vegetarian sandwiches.Parking: Free street parking that is always easy to findKid-friendliness: Tasty sandwiches, pizza, and fun desserts that kids will loveWheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible ramp and dining area where chairs can be moved to accommodate wheelchairs

Ordered a sub, mozzarella sticks, pizza and the spiral pasta for my fiancé and I. We ended up doing delivery and after 50 minutes of waiting for our food, the sub came cold and had stuff on it I asked to be taken off and there was no pizza or pasta in sight.for how much delivery is, I would expect the food to actually show up. Do better!!

We have come a few times now for dine in. I cannot express how crazy busy this place is but it is run like a well oiled machine. We had instant service. Watching people come in and out for pick up without waiting, it’s crazy. I give them so much credit they have it dialed in! We got subs for lunch and love their sandwiches!!! This is such a great local place and we will continue to support them! Keep it up!!

Best sandwich place in these parts! I’ve been going for a couple years now.Service has always been very friendly and prompt, picking up and dine-in.Food is hot ( hot sandwiches) , fresh, plentiful and delish 😋Khaleesi chicken is my fave! The cold sandwiches I had were awesome as well but I mainly go for hot.The sides are always good. From the kettle chips to the jalapeño cilantro coleslaw 👌Quaint little shop with an ambitious and attentive staff.I love this place!

The food was delicious and the staff was super friendly, too! The buffalo chicken bacon wrap and the nashotah sunset sandwich were both large and tasty and the three salads (spiral pasta, cucumber & jalapeno cilantro coleslaw) are extremely flavorful! We had the breakup cake for dessert. My hubby liked it.The ONLY reason we wanted to give a 4-star (but didn't, we gave 5 stars) is because on an 86 degree day, there was only outdoor seating available and it was in full sun. We wish the indoor seating would/could reopen! Probably thanks to Covid. 😣

First time trying out this wonderful little diner today. Our waitress was right, we will be back! Found this place because of a much -liked- answer on a “Milwaukee foodie” page… so I was expecting great sandwiches (it delivered. Both of our sandwiches were great, and also enormous. It tasted like all the ingredients had been just cut. very fresh… and bursting out of the bread). What I couldn’t have expected was to taste a flavor that I have been missing for about a decade. The “cucumber salad“ is exactly like something that I used to park myself in front of at every family potluck. I am so glad our waitress decided that we needed to try all three available sides. They were all fantastic, but I found my go-to in the future. We got there right about noon and, while the takeout business seem to be hopping, there was still room for us to sit down in their not overly large dining area. The service was quick (along with friendly) and people ate their meals and hustled out fairly quickly, so the eight tables they have available (& 2 outside) seem like they are actually enough to keep people from having to wait if they want to eat in.My partner asked about unsweetened tea, and we were told “just brewed a fresh pot this morning.“ That is a very good sign. I also overheard her talking about fresh lemonade that I will definitely have to try next time… Along with more cucumber salad!

Quality subs at decent prices compared to chain restaurants. A regular go-to after Nashotah Dog Park. Love the veggie sub. Delicious and filling. Quick and prompt. Great service.

Price advertised on their Google page vs actual price is very different. The reason they gave for it is that Google put the prices on there. I know from my personal experience that Google does not set prices for restaurants.
