First time there & it was excellent! We came early, started with drinks & apps at the bar. Enjoyed the Shanky's Whip Old Fashioned, Flowering Onion, & Hand Dipped Basket... w/ onion rings, cheese curds, mushrooms, & cauliflower. Then had the Black & Bleu Coulotte Steak & Chicken & Goat Cheese for our main course. Everything was soooo good! And the service was wonderful, always had just what we needed! Thx 😊

Went for a birthday and it was a Friday so enjoyed the fish too!Ordered calamari for appetizer and the onion. Onion was huge. Plenty enough to take home half of it.Fish portion was large. The Walleye was very good. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The atmosphere is northwoods feel. The beautiful picturesque setting was a beautiful place to walk around after the meal as well.We had reservations for 5pm. It was steady but about 6pm was very busy. Servers were very attentive. Water glasses filled often. We will come back again sometime.

As a first time customer, I can not adequately express my disappointment. It was obvious the restaurant has it’s regular customers and they take priority. The server brought the main course without clearing the empty appetizer plates cluttering our table. After she left we moved the empty plates to the next table. The vegetables were cold and the steak tasted of spoiled meat (past its expiration). It was disgusting and couldn’t be eaten. I decided to pay the bill and leave quietly. But the server wouldn’t have it and made a scene by loudly questioned the tip in front of other customers. I confirmed the amount and attempted to leave. The server followed us to door pressing for a bigger tip for the poor quality food and service. I left quietly. Our total bill (including the bar) was just under $200. Definitely NOT WORTH it, and can not recommend the pinewood.

What a cool place! There are a lot of nice details here. The bar is very classy but at the same time north woodsy. There are tables off to the side in case you want to hang out a bit. They make a great Old Fashioned. The dining room is also classy north woods. White paper table covers, candle, big windows overlooking the lake, lots of wood. The food is pretty awesome too. I absolutely love a relish tray and Pinewood has a good one. There is a very tasty dip for the fresh veggies. It’s seasoned with curry and trust me, you’ll like it. We did not have the Baked French Onion Soup because they were featuring a delicious Chicken Spetzal Soup. Yum! The Halibut Oscar was as good as it looked. It was served over perfectly cooked asparagus. The ribs were delicious as well. I’m guessing the sauce is homemade and the rack, while not long in length, was so thick it looked like a pork roast on the plate. They make a potato that has cheese stuffed inside and is coated in bread crumbs and fried! We skipped dessert as we were quite full and we didn’t have time for an after dinner drink but we will be back for dinner again when we can linger a bit longer.I would also like to recognize the staff. We were greeted and seated by a very friendly woman and our server, Jennifer, was friendly, attentive, and made us feel at home.

Took mom out for Mother's Day. Food was outstanding. Mom got the crab stuffed salmon and I got the prime rib. One picture is the view from our table, overlooking the lake.

Started at the bar with average brandy old fashions. Mine was poured from the last ounce of the bottles generic brandy. My wife's was better. We then took our seats at the "diner like" reserved table. We had some questions about the menu items including the Prime rib but our server excused herself to go pick up an order for another table. Thought that was rude. Probably for a regular patron. When she got back my wife ordered the queen Prime Rib which was expensive at 34.99 and I ordered the Chicken Oscar at 24.99. We both got the clam chowder which was included with the meals. The bowls were shallow with very little soup in them. Came with under cooked carrots and potatoes with maybe two clam pieces. We ordered more drinks and they were decent. The main course arrived. The prime rib was half fat and served on too small of a plate. My wife attempted to cut me a piece to try and juice went all over. Tasted ok. My chicken was nice and hot but only one small breast. My plate was more appropriate for the prime rib. After we were done I got the check. An extra charge for credit cards was on there even though I wasn't going to be using one. Will pass on this place.

First trip to a supper club....definitely not a thing in the south. Cindy and Chris were amazing bartenders as we waited for our table. Started with a traditional old fashioned....because well that's what you drink in Wisconsin. Such a great vibe and ambience to start the evening. Next was a vodka tonic made with "door county cherry vodka" made with local cherries...omg so good. As we walk to our table surrounded by the beautiful lake views, the club vibe definitely sets in. Dinner was just.....delicious. every bite was perfect and as a chef myself that is saying alot. My blackened rib eye was perfectly cooked and so flavorful. Karen our server, was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. Now as I sit here enjoying my after dinner rum chata Alexander, I see the appeal to supper clubs. it is definitely an experience that one should not miss and I will definitely be back to The Pinewood Supper Club soon!

Hard to find a joint like this anymore. Attentive service from an obviously highly trained staff. Food was top notch all around, my only regret was not upgrading to a French onion soup. The prime rib was perfectly cooked and the potato puff was almost to good. Not the place I'll be a every week regular due to the price point but I'm already looking at the next time I've got an occasion that will warrant another visit.

AMAZING!!!! The service was outstanding, the drinks were amazing and the food was flat out to die for. You can’t ask for more than that trio. If you’re in the area you must stop by and try this place, you won’t regret it at all. Thank me later lol

We’ve eaten out in Wausau many times, but somehow we never tried the Pinewood Supper Club. We never knew what we were missing. This place would have to rank among the best of Wisconsin supper clubs. The atmosphere was amazing, the drinks were excellent, the salad and relish tray was fresh, and the steak was mouthwatering good. Give it a try and you won’t be disappointed!

We love the Pinewood. We go every year when we visit - sometimes twice a year. I would usually give them 5 stars, but I feel like they are not accommodating for young families. We have a baby and there is no where to change her in the bathrooms. No folding table, no stand alone table. I have to change her on the bathroom floor (gross) or in between the sinks and it’s a pain for other guests. I have mentioned this to the staff every time and asked if they can get one of the changing tables that hangs flat on the wall (and there is plenty of room), but they just smile and say sorry. I wish the Pinewood was more welcoming to families with babies

This was our first visit to Pinewood Supper Club in Mosinee, Ron Faiola's Wisconsin Supper Clubs book brought us in. I emailed the owner before our visit but never heard back. Our visit started with a friendly hostess who found us a window table overlooking the lake. We started with a couple of Wisconsin classics - brandy old fashioneds served table side, they were good. Our server arrived and collected our order - I tried the rack of ribs with the "cheese puff". and a house salad. "She" tried the seafood quesadilla with a house salad. First came the relish tray - a nice touch and some warm bread. Next came the huge, delicious house salad...excellent. Then our served arrived to tell us there had been a quesadilla "malfunction" and the kitchen was making another...we patiently waited. Once served we were full from the relish tray and house salad - so we split what I'd call a flat bread pizza aka seafood quesadilla and I took the ribs to "go". Our visit was tarnished some by the extended wait for our bill, I finally went to the bar to find our server and pay - this process was at least 10-15 minutes...I just think our served was a bit discombobulated on this particular evening. With that said, our food was great - The Pinewood seems to be a stalwart, local venue that can be trusted to deliver delicious food each and every visit - Enjoy

Great.I had the 14 ounce NY strip, mushrooms, cheese puff and NE Clam chowder. My wife had the 8 ounce Sirloin with shrimp, salad, baked potato and mushrooms.Food was excellent, but what stuck out was the wait staff was short handed, but the food came out pretty fast and piping hot.We will be back.

I was excited to come here based on my visits in the past and what I mean by past I mean a couple of years ago as most recent. This was to be a family, my family Easter get together meal at noon at this place.I guess you could have called it a brunch buffet type of meal but only the waitresses bring everything to you from the kitchen. At first when we all got there we noticed that the family table's weren't situated the way we would have preferred 4 R 13 member family seating. Happily the two waitresses obliged change the configuration of the tables and everything was good.Know this place was cold at first but they turned on the heat and it quickly became warm. The Ambiance in this place and especially in the older section is unbeatable. The bathrooms were for the most part kept and clean. The bar area had a real nice warm glow to it, especially with the low lighting, I liked it.Now to the most important part at least to me. This fancy Easter meal was nothing but poorly put together chicken dinner that I paid $18 for!! what a pathetic pathetic joke! To add insult on to injury the chicken wasn't even that good. The corn which was definitely out of a can was something I might expect from a cheap open all night Diner or a truck stop, again pathetic! All the other food again was not even worth mentioning especially that poorly put together pumpkin pie and only one pie to choose from.To sum this experience up I felt as though I was scammed of my money and I actually feel bitter about it.Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me, and twice will never happen!!Oh and two stars only because of the ambiance. What a joke!!!

I have been to this restaurant numerous times over the years. I have always had a great experience. The photo that doesn’t have anything on the plate was where my tenderloin and shrimp used to be! Both of my items were cooked perfectly. Drinks are priced in line with a supper club so they will be a little more expensive than your local watering hole. My wife generally gets the chicken with goat cheese meal and it is very flavorful and filling. One of the few places that still brings a relish tray to your table and the salad that comes with your meal is very large. Always a great experience!

It didn't take long to realize why this restaurant is #1 on Tripadvisor in Mosinee. It would be in the top ten, maybe in the state. First of all, how about my view of the lake from my table? The waitress was excellent and extremely knowledgeable about recommendations, so I will tell you, if you go to a restaurant you've never been to, you can always rely on a knowledgeable waiter or waitress for a delicious experience. For appetizers, I enjoyed escargot which doesn't get any better than the way they serve it and a hand dipped fried basket which the waitress recommended adding their homemade ranch dressing to which was another home run. As if I should have had room still for a meal, I had a halibut dinner that the waitress said isn't always on the menu, but was so excellent. Not many places could get six stars, but this place should.

The drinks & bartender, Cindy, were wonderful. The food & our server, Jennifer, were spectacular! It was my first time trying both the Calamari & Fresh Halibut Oscar. I would highly recommend both!!!

Very nice place, clean, good food. I feel like it's a little pricey, but portions are good and everything was really nice like an old fashioned supper club should be. Kids meals are good portions too.
