I brought my Norbert to River Country after calling vets for over 2 hours (we live out of town). He had an exposed anal gland and was in a lot of pain. It was a Friday and River Country was kind enough to get us in last minute. Everyone was so kind!! Norbert is a big dog and was not a happy camper. Dr Roxi was so kind and patient. He was back to normal after a couple days. If I lived in town this would be our new vet! Thank you so much!

I was very hopeful for this vet clinic because they were the only vet clinic near me that would come to my house to see my dog. I was willing to pay a little extra money for these services because my dog has epilepsy and it is triggered when she is stressed (aka car rides and new places.)Unfortunately, this has been the worst vet clinic that I have encountered thus far. The first visit went very well And I had really high hopes. But the second visit is when things started to get a little fishy. Before all of my vet visits, I always ask for an estimate because well, times are tough and I need to make sure I have enough money before they come. They gave me an estimate and said that they would only do two tests that they need to do to refill my dogs prescription of phenobarbital . When they were doing bloodwork, my mom was discussing different types of bloodwork and why they had to do them for her seizure medication just out of curiosity. The vet was very kind and explained everything that we needed to know. After she was done getting blood for my dog, she collected my form of payment, which I would be paying with my card. They did not have a card reader, so Dr. Roxi took a picture on her cell phone of the front and back of my card which I thought was a little weird and unprofessional. She told me she would delete it as soon as she processed the payment at the clinic. A few days later, I noticed that the charge was at least $80 more than what they quoted me on. I called them as soon as I saw my bill and asked why it was so much more expensive than what they quoted me on. Of course, they didn't know the answer right away so they had to get back to me which I understand. They called me back and explained that Dr. Roxi said that my mom told them that she wanted them to do an extra test. Mind you, I was in the room and I am the only one that can OK extra charges on my card and I did NOT ok any extra charges as I didn't have that kind of money. I was given a receipt when they left my house that reflected the charges that was $80 less. After discussing this with them, I told them that I did not OK this and they needed to put it back so they did. I was willing to move on from this experience, and for the next time I was going to pay with exact cash. I felt like I was scammed!!Moving onto the next visit a year later. I had called to schedule this appointment, and I had to ask off for work in which is very hard to ask off sometimes. I had to actually get someone else to cover for me so I could have this day off. Anyways, the day before the appointment I received an email asking me to confirm the appointment. Immediately after I received the email I responded back, confirming that we will be available. Come the appointment day, I waited about 15 minutes after my appointment time before I called them because they didn't show. First time I called someone said that they would have to get back to me and reach out to them and see what happened. When I got a call back, I was speaking with someone who is very rude and mean told me "we gave you three courtesy phone calls to confirm the appointment and you did not answer." I told them well I sent a confirmation email and they said "It doesn't matter, you still have to answer the phone to confirm the appointment for farm calls." I was never told this information previously. I live out in the country and cell service is not the greatest. If I would have known that I had to answer a phone call then I would have given them my landline phone number, not my cell phone because I cannot rely on getting phone calls to my cell.. When we had the last two appointments, I never had to answer a phone call the day of the appointment, so this is clearly something new that they implemented, and did not inform me on.This place just seems very very unprofessional, and there is constant miscommunication between me and the employees. Not only was I treated with disrespect this place outright scammed me. Luckily, they gave me my money back so I did not have to take further action.BE CAREFUL

I had a regular vet that my dog would go to. My dog got sick and we tried to get her in to see our normal vet and were told they were fully booked and to call around. I called 6 different locations and was turned down by all. My 7th call was to River Country Animal Wellness. They were fully booked but said they would squeeze us in. The staff was so very friendly and I loved the vetinarian. She was so calm and patient with my dog. She was very thorough with giving the exam and explaining what she thought was the problem. Because of this they are Luna's new vet. If anyone is looking for a Vetinarian I would give RCAW a call.

We have a cabin near Montello, so River Country is not our home vet. Years ago we something come up with our Bernice while we were at our cabin. I called River Country Nd they were by far the most at home I felt with a vet. Dr. Roxy was amazing and kind. They got us in knowing we weren't going to be a their normal Checkups with our dogs, but they were so accommodating.Fast forward 5 years, same kind of scenario but a little kitten. Again, staff was unbelievably kind, got me in the morning I called and got the poor little kittens ear mites taken care of.I would recommend this vet to anyone. You are treated like an individual instead of just a number. If I could make this home vet, I would. Thanks again River Country! ♡♡

Such an amazing clinic. Out cat had a pretty serious UTI and the clinic was able to see him right away, even though we had never been to see them before. They figured out what was wrong right away and worked quickly to start treatment. Everyone there was so nice and made us feel like our cat was their top priority. We were able to go visit him everyday and hang out, and received regular updates with pictures, which made a very stressful experience more bearable. And the total price was way below the estimates we had found online. Everything from the actual treatment to the communication far exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend.

Was not familiar with Dog Diabetes, Insulin dosages were wrong which caused the Dog to go Blind. Her reason was she only knows about Cats. Our local Pharmacist gave us the correct dose. Got a FREESTLYE MONITOR, as suggested by a second opinion, and River County refused to install it, saying they know nothing about how to insert the tiny needle into the dog, yet she offers Acupuncture?

I've been using this practice since I moved here 10 years ago+-. All 7 of my dogs were seen and treated here. My dogs are my kids, the closest thing I have to having kids are my dogs. They were always treated well as was I. The Dr, she put my Brook to sleep, her last breath was taken in my arms as we sat together. The Dr talked me through what was coming and I was allowed as much time as I needed. The compassion and understanding she supported me with was amazing.I whole hartedly recommend this service.

like alot of people don't like having to go see a vet.One day rocket got a k9 tooth dislodged from his jaw. He had broke the bone that held it in. I am very difficult to work with when it comes to my baby. I found the staff and the doctor very understanding. They knew I was going through a difficult situation and they seemed very understanding and accommodating. Her office is 40 minutes from my house and well worth the drive. Dr Roxy and her staff really made this emergency less painful.

Mixed feelings as I've had the best of care, but the worst in response time. The doctor is very knowledgeable and quite professional. Her generosity and love for the critters goes above and beyond, exceeding the norm. However, the communications over-all are less than desirable, and it cost our household dearly. With a few tweaks in response time and communications, RVWC will be the ten-star clinic it has the potential to be.

We highly recommend this veterinary clinic for anyone looking for services in or around Montello, WI. We moved to Marquette county a while back with two dogs (bull mastiff and a pit bull). Our dogs were going through a lot of adjustments and having dominance issues. Dr. Roxi helped us get in touch with a great trainer. Roxy is amazing. She truly cares for the animals and takes in their entire well being in her assessments. She primary incorporates Eastern medicine in her practice but will tie in Western medicine as well. All her herbs and natural medicine have been beneficial for my cat with allergies. I am VERY fortunate to have found Dr. Roxy and the staff of River Country Animal Wellness. I took in a friendly stray cat last October and two of the bigger veterinarian practices I looked into and called were not taking new patients and they were somewhat abrupt and abrasive about it. I happened upon RCAW while doing a Google search. The RCAW receptionist was so friendly and welcoming when I called to make an appointment. Dr. Roxy is thorough and very knowledgeable. She and her staff have a wonderful balance of kindness and professionalism. Recently, I adopted a kitten, who has had some health issues and is also under Dr. Roxy's vet care. I am very thankful to have found RCAW. I am certain my cats are receiving the best vet care. If you are looking for a vet, look no further!

I call last month because my dog got really hurt and needed stitches, I called and they got me in right away. They took very good care of my dog and she was also very happy with very one there. I went back and she was very happy to see very one there. So I thank you very much for caring and taking good care of my dog. Called on Tues 3/16 at 1:21. Got service. Return call at 2:03 from Lexi. Explained health situation and asked if we should bring Tesla in. Roxie on farm call, will call back and advise. Never got a call back. We started treating her on our own. I have never had an issue like this before. Not sure who was at fault but at least we saved some money. Also, our home treatment worked and my kitty is now much better.

Excellent care without unnecessary reliance on drugs. I appreciate the teaching about how to choose the right ingredients for the food I make for my new dog. Roxanne showed me how to clean my dogs ears with a mixture of alcohol and vinegar and told me to put coconut oil and one drop of Rosemary Essential oil to treat yeast infection in her ears. The care was excellent. She answered all my questions and concerns. My new dog came from Columbia County Humane Society, but had been surrendered from an Amish Puppy Mill so I had many concerns to address.

Absolutely love the team at River Country Animal Wellness, especially Dr. Roxie, she makes you feel so comfortable. I was so impressed with her approach to my small dog's back injury. My old vet had simply taken an x-ray, said they were not sure exactly what was wrong but handed me pain pills to give him and "see if it gets better". I had seen Dr. Roxie adjust the neck and spine of a friend's dog so I thought I'd give her a try. She pinpointed a slipped disc in my dog's back right away and started by adjusting him, then acupuncture therapy, and sent us home with an herbal blend to help with pain and swelling. I started to see an immediate improvement, I took him back two more times in the next month for acupuncture and by the end my baby was as good as new! So impressed.

Used to be a great place to take my pets. They recently have a new receptionist and things are very different! She is rude, never even acknowledged my pets when I bring them in, and don't ever get there 5 minutes early on her lunch time or she will bite your head off. She reminded me 3 times in 5 minutes I interrupted her lunch. All I wanted was to get out of the cold and sit in the waiting room, I wasn't going to eat her food!I recently had one dog pass away and have been very worried about my other one. She had a blood test recently that showed a problem, I took her in for a second test last Wed. I was told they would let me know if the test got better or worse. After waiting a week with no answers I called and the receptionist told me they tried to email me but it didn't go through! So don't bother calling me and telling me the results after I have been worried for months to do the retest, and then another week for the results. Ridiculous! Very poor customer service. I can't trust them anymore with the health of my pets, I will be going elsewhere.
