What a beautiful orphanage. These cats are free range. They have such beautiful lives here and are available for adoption. If you want to come and get free, kitty love. The best day is Wednesday's ❤️

The animals suffer the most.Poor communication, if any at all, is the norm with this shelter. The volunteers who handle the adoption process are overpaid and all too willing to deny applications. A generic email stating possible reasons why there was denial is sent per their protocol. They also justify denying for reasons not listed.Ever sit detention in middle school? Denied. The power trip these people are on is disgusting. Many animals could have happy, healthy, and loving homes. This would also allow for more room at the shelter to help out new animals. But instead, they’d rather take their superiority complex out on innocent animals’ futures and lives. These people need to seek help and not be in control of those without voices until they’re healthy enough to do so. They’re clearly in the wrong field.

So many adorable cats!! All the cats were super friendly! Would totally recommend if you're looking to adopt cats that are friendly with other animals, too.

My wife and I recently applied to adopt a kitty and they denied us without explanation (as is their policy). Here's the form email they sent:We appreciate your interest in adopting, however after careful consideration, we have declined your application. As the disclaimer indicates on the application you submitted, we reserve the right to deny any application and do not disclose specific reasons for denials. One or more of the following may have been a determining factor in our decision:- Current/past pets were not up-to-date on vaccinations and/or were not spayed/neutered.- Current/past pets did not receive routine, basic healthcare.- Veterinarian information was not provided to verify healthcare of previous/current pets.- Age of applicant(s) was under 21.- Application was incomplete/was missing answers.- Reference phone numbers were not provided and/or were not correct.- We were not able to obtain required information from references.- The references provided by applicant did not comply with instructions on the application (NON family members).- Home ownership could not be verified and/or Landlord did not return our phone call/could not be reached.- Landlord has not approved a pet.- Length of time in rental too short to be considered stable environment.- The needs of the pet for which you applied.- Discrepancies were found in the application.Literally nothing listed in the response is/was applicable to our situation. And even if there was a question/discrepancy, are they really that busy/lazy that they can't pick up the phone or write an email asking for an explanation? I'm sure the people that run this place have good intentions, but I hope they come to understand that policies like this are misguided and not in the best interest of the animals they are trying to find homes for.I'll end this review with a few photos of kitties we were apparently good enough to adopt from other rescues. As you can see, they have it pretty rough, and are completely unloved ;-)

I really want Juliette on their site... she looks so much like my baby meia, who died in July from acute kidney failure. If anyone knows what I can do to get this place to allow me to come in and meet her. I would be greatly appreciated I would pay anything to have her. She been there all summer. She needs a home. I have four cats who need a sister, Especially my Bart cat misses meia so much. I put application in for her please look at it. Rosemary Keller

This is one of the most traumatic experiences I've ever had. We lost our 15yo kitty in March 2022 due to acute renal failure. She almost died from her shots at 2yo so we were advised not to continue receiving them. This was the first time we came under-fire by LOAR.Then, when they called our vet to check on how many times we'd taken our kitty to the vet (why?), I had to explain that my husband has multiple certifications that qualify him to do monthly checkups on our pets. They went ahead and suggested that, because we weren't doing routine blood work, our cat's kidney failure was not caught and therefore, she died. You know: basic accusation that WE KILLED OUR CAT. I told them this was incredibly traumatic to have to not only recount our cat's death, but to defend our care and love for her; we'll gladly look elsewhere.Note: if you are adopting animals out to families, maybe realize that it's not your responsibility beyond making sure they're good people. You should just keep the animal if you're that invested.
