I give this particular located Menards a five star!It is laid out so well, much better than some of the older stores. The staff is very friendly and helpful, which is Refreshing! You can even rent one of their trucks for $18.95 for the first 75 minutes if you don’t have a large vehicle to take something large home.Today the sun is out so spring is coming and I saw them bringing in a bunch of flowers and plants, so this is always the best time of the year to buy them for the summer! Have fun!

I am a truck driver, and today I delivered a load at dock 22. I was pleasantly surprised by the kindness and professionalism of everyone I encountered, from the guard shack to the individuals who helped unload my truck. However, upon exiting my vehicle, I noticed a lesbian lady with short hair driving a forklift. As a courtesy, I paused to allow her to pass since I was in a large truck. To my dismay, she stopped and gave me a disapproving look, raising her eyebrows in an unfriendly manner. I couldn't comprehend why she reacted that way, as I had signaled for her to proceed and had been nothing but polite. It was disheartening to experience this behavior from an employee in the customer service industry. I believe her actions should be addressed by the appropriate authorities. As a professional truck driver, it was disappointing to be treated as if I had done something wrong. This incident occurred earlier today, between 10-11 am.

This is our closest Menards. We know the store backwards and forwards. The employees here are amazing. Xavier in counter and cabinets is the most professional sales representative I have ever worked with ANYWHERE. James and the customer service desk is top notch and will always take care of you. The GM and AGM are always friendly. By far the best Menards around!

Actively fights against unions. I've been told Managers are told that if a union starts in their store they will be fired immediately.They have basically replaced any sales with their 11% off, that only comes in the form of a rebate check after you mail in the rebates. This is the same even if you use the menards card.Lumber is average AT BEST and you'll spend 30 minutes going through a pallet of wood to find 4 pieces that are straight and not full of knot holes.

Horrible customer service at Menards if you want to be treated with respect as a valued customer and a human being, especially if you need to return a defective product. Very inconsistent return policy from store to store. Lack of assistance, unfriendly staff and indifferent upper management, including GMs. I've never been treated more shabbily in a store in my life. I had to fight for my own personal integrity. Very frustrating and uncomfortable. Buyer Beware at John Menards home improvement stores. Hang onto your receipts.

One of the biggest Menard’s I’ve ever been in! The staff is professional, and knows the layout of the store very well! The only problem is the actual directories for the aisles are outdated, and don’t always match some of the aisles.

DO NOT, under any circumstances, purchase custom countertops or anything else you can't return directly to a Menards store. Midwest Manufacturing, who makes products solely for Menards, and who 3 employees at this store told me IS Menards, has the mindset that their products can't fail, and if they do, it must have been your fault. Feel free to look up reviews on their company.I designed solid surface countertops on the website with a recommended quartz sink. The sink clips provided can not handle the weight of a 50lb undermount sink, bent in half backwards, releasing the sink, causing the countertop to flex and snap at the poorly reinforced seam. It has taken up to 7 weeks per email to get a reposnse just to receive copy and paste responses that ignore everything I said. First, I was told I didn't use enough epoxy. Then, that I didn't use silicone. Both of these claims are objectively false based on the photos I provided. How could the sink clips literally bend in half backwards if I didn't use enough epoxy? If I didn't use enough epoxy, the clips would have detached from the countertop before they could have bent in half. This is common sense stuff.Management in store refused to help and lied about emailing the countertop company for me. Corporate refused to help and kept pointing me to the countertop company. The countertop company, which IS Menards, wasted my time for 6 months copying and pasting the same responses after weeks of waiting to hear back. Once they have your money they don't care anymore and won't honor the warranty. I didn't even mention how the countertops weren't the exact size I ordered or how the edges were poorly finished and porous in spots.My elderly father and I have been lifelong Menards customers. I have renovated my home almost exclusely with their products. Why should I continue supporting a company that doesn't care about the quality of their products? That doesn't care about their customers and their time? I don't need a response telling me how you want to help and you need my business. I've talked to you already, you were unwilling to help. I'll just assume you didn't actually read this review like you didn't actually read my warranty claim. I had no countertops or a sink in my kitchen for 6 months. I gave you all the time in the world to make up for your product failing. Ultimately, I explained the situation to my credit card company and, go figure, they easily won the case to get my money back.

Rented a rug doctor from here. Not only did the RugDoctor make my room smell like a mop bucket (yes I used clean water and the appropriate cleaner), I was charged $42 for returning it 12 minutes late.I get that it was late but doubling the cost of the rental for returning a tool 12 minutes late is unreasonable.Do not rent tools from this Menards. They are low quality and will charge unreasonable late fees.

Xavier from cabinet design is incredible! So knowledgeable and personable. I worked with him to make a second kitchen and it was better than I could imagine. Be sure to set up an appointment! He truly listens and breaks down every detail. His talents in creating the lifelike designs is fast and impressively helpful. A valuable asset to Menards or any cabinet supplier.

So tonight I went to Menards to shop with my $12 rebate cash. I picked up 4 small items and a gallon of distilled water. At the checkout I forgot to use the rebate certificate and paid by card. But then immediately realized and pulled out the certificate and asked if the cashier could void the sale and rescan so I could pay with the certificate (there was no one behind me in line) She said I'd have to go to the customer service desk for that. The middle aged woman at the customer service desk told me "it would be a lot of work" to return my 5 items and ring them up again. (yes, her exact words!) She insisted I save my certificate for the next time I shop there. (Again, the store was quiet and there was no one even near the customer service desk). Hmm, maybe there won't be a "next time I shop there."

Normally don’t have a problem with Menards (just want to point out). However, every time I come to this location for a pick up it takes longer than it should. Today I waited almost 18 minutes for someone to show up in the department. It was very early in the morning and 2 people were working the pickup.

Contractors and other customers beware. This particular Menards has gotten horrible. I mean with the prices you expect to be treated poorly to some point but it’s gotten out of control. These “manager” and pretty much anyone above a cashier and stock person are just horrible to deal with. I only went here because of the location to home but now I will drives a little further to avoid this place. It’s been years as it gets worse and worse and now I must stress people need to beware. The return process is useless, the manager with red hair is useless, the big guy with glasses that’s been there forever has the worst attitude problem and any excuse not to do their job.

Service is terrible at this Menards! Last night there was only 1 register open with 25 people standing in line. The teenager that was obviously overwhelmed and had turned his manager light on for 5 mins but no one came. I went to the front desk, which had no one at it, then found an employee that radioed someone. A Manager came and opened 2more registers. Not sure where everyone was, maybe on smoke break. When I complained to the manager, Jacob, after checkout, he didn't even say "sorry about that", just grunted something.If I didn't live in McFarland I would drive 20 miles to shop at a different Menards.

I like it! I mean, they seem to have everything. Me, along with my sister and her husband, moved up here to Wisconsin from Texas almost 5 years ago, so Menards is new to me, but I like it!

First off I never write reviews, but my experience today was by far the worst I have ever had in a store. I have been in there twice for over an hour each time to deal with a messed up delivery order. Today my experience pushed me over the edge when the worthless manager Matt got involved and was probably the least helpful person I have ever dealt with in my life. I will not be shopping at this store ever again. Home Depot will be getting our business from here on out.Jess at the customer service counter was lovely and should get a raise.

Expansive store but the selection and variety could be improved. For instance, they didn't sell any of the particular brand of toilet bowl cleaner I needed; and some other things. Staff were friendly, but it was difficult to find any of them.If you need Zep products, they'll probably have them. If you need anything by The Works, they probably won't, nor will they know who would sell any.Parking: Large Parking lot.

It was great. We went for a light bulb that melts wax and makes your home smell good. And they had it! Store is clean and staff is helpful. We bought more than the bulb. They have loads of stuff.

Pretty good selection and good prices on the basic level contractor stuff for home and garden. I prefer over Home Depot locally for both price and materials availability though HD online orders give you even more range of supplies. The Monona location is nearest to me and I have the layout memorized I guess.

I've scheduled two delivery orders, and both have been nightmares. The delivery desk doesn't know what days the 3rd-party delivery contractor runs, have never taken my contact info correctly, and have shorted me materials. Neither of the orders showed up on time, and the desk is unwilling to do anything to help except reschedule the deliveries a week out.Order online or go to a better store. If you do have to order in person, make sure you double check EVERYTHING they do--including the cashier scanning the correct printed-out purchase sheet--or you're not going to get your order.

Went to buy shelves and some random items including a snack. Had to pay brother to rent a car as I am visually disabled. Go through check out, only to receive this long, seemingly passive aggressive stare at my cash. Having worked in retail I wondered why she didn't just use a counterfeit pen instead of slowing the line as she so carefully examined each and every bill. She then forgot to give us several of my items.I come back from the car having discovered that the items are missing, and the cashier says she couldn't find them. Then the front desk couldn't find them. I then waited twenty plus minutes for a refund after being treated like a lunatic for wanting my $7.00 worth of items. They seemed to think that if it took long enough I'd just leave. Stood there long enough they finally refunded my money. Then had to lengthen the car rental, costing me more of what little money I have.Really disgusted. Would really prefer to shop local, but will probably go back to Amazon after this. They might be evil, but at least their customer service is better.

Rented a Rug Doctor from them for 24 hours. Turned out the machine wasn’t cleaned from the previous renter. It was filthy. As I was cleaning my carpet I noticed clumps of hair coming out from the bottom where the rotating brush was. Tons of pet hair! The previous renter vacuumed up pet hair and urine and since it wasn’t cleaned transferred that urine smell to my carpet. I “ cleaned “ about half my carpet before I realized they didn’t clean the machine. Home Depot is the place to go if you want to rent aRug Doctor

Very helpful, friendly. When we found the item sold out, they said I could order it.The young man behind the lighting desk let me enter my own personal info on the keyboard, and assured me I'd be emailed & phone notice when shipped in 3 weeks.Light clamps for my indoor greenhouses are essential for scaling up my wildflower propagation efforts after COVID put the brakes on all. They understood the urgency of all, extremely well, and made every detail explicit and relaxed.Lowe's, Home Depot, all other big boxes are corporatized & cool to the touch by comparison. Menard's staff are accessible, & if they can't do it for you, by golly they'll find exactly the right person who can. How great is that?

Ok, so I bought a $260 lawn edger that never worked. Went to the store the next day and they told me to go to a different location as they were out of stock. So went to the west Madison location and the manager was just the rudest person I’ve ever dealt with. So they just took the lawn edger and put it outside the store next to a trash can because I had to take it somewhere else. I did nothing but what your employees told me to do and still lost $300 and got humiliated by the west Madison store manager, he told the porter to just take the edger outside in a big storm by the way and never tried to help me. Is this the kind of customer service you guys provide? There’s a lot to learn regarding that. Not the right approach and way to handle a situation like they specially in the middle of a storm. I think there should be some more consideration and more sympathy with customers. I would love to hear back from you as I was denied the right to complain at a higher lever at both stores. I have pictures of the edger sitting outside next to a garbage can.Update 2 years later, Menards is the best store to show people why we should all go local.
