My beloved cat was dying with sarcoma cancer. I'd been giving him gabapentin from a different pharmacy for pain and suffering. The click pens that I received from the other pharmacy were defective, and didn't dispense his medicine properly.My new vet recommended The Pet Apothecary, and I went there to pick up his prescription - this was a Thursday. I explained to the staff, and again the pharmacist, that I'd had problems with these click pens. He's dying and in pain, he likely won't live a week. And, with the weekend coming, I can't afford to have another click pen that's defective.The pharmacist asked if I had gotten the previous click pens from them. I said no, and the pharmacist assumed that everything would be fine. When I tried to explain again that these click pens don't work properly they looked curious, but were sure that everything would be fine.Sure enough, two days later, on Saturday, the pen doesn't dispense, and I can't get anybody on the phone at The Pet Apothecary.I will never know how much suffering he was exposed to at the end of his life - and I think about that every single day.About a week after he died, I called The Pet Apothecary and left a message that I would like to speak to somebody in a position of authority to make a complaint about the way that Tiger was treated by them.About a week later a staff member left me a voicemail.I didn't call them back because Tiger had died, it was too late to protect him, and I just couldn't talk about it any longer.

Prescription received 1/9. Called to leave cc that day. No answer. Wednesday credit card given and paid for overnight shipping. No answer Thursday. Friday told it was on desk and should go out that day. No answer Saturday. Saturday needed to go to ER for meds I had been waiting on. Pd $330 but he was much worse than he should have been. Sunday night medications arrive. Today is at his vetNow we wait and hope he can be saved. Easily spending over $1000 to treat something that never should have gotten this bad. He may not survive.If you must order from them pick it up.Sugar gliderTooth abscessNeeded enroflaxin and metacam.

They dont understand customers need/urgency.My dogs prescription was sent on Sunday mid night, i called at 11am mon morning and left voice-mail.By 4 pm they called and said they will be able to fill by next day i.e Tuesday.

So impressed with the speed and efficiency of this compounding pharmacy! My dog’s vet sent the prescription over for a medication that’s no longer available, and has to be compounded. I got a call about it the very next day. I live a ways away, so they had it shipped out to me THE SAME DAY I ordered it, and it arrived the very next day! Truly incredible. My own compounding pharmacy for my human meds isn’t this fast! Thank you, Pet Apothecary. The staff member I spoke with was also very nice and made the process easy and simple. I’m glad to know we have a great resource like Pet Apothecary available to us locally.

I've tried calling this location innumerable times with no answer or getting hung up on. I leave a voice-mail and don't get a response either. Why waste my time going into the location if they can't answer the phone? I'll take my business elsewhere.

Usually I love the pet Apothecary as they are always very friendly! Lately though it seems like it's been difficult to get medications in a timely manner. I had a prescription called in right away Thursday morning, it's now Friday at 3:30 and I have no update. I've been calling off and on the last several hours and only get an automated message telling me to leave a message to be called back. I needed these for my pet's pain management, but it looks like we are going to be without medication over the weekend, very frustrating.

We have been blessed being the owners of our elderly dog Boxer. He's extremely smart, funny, & caring. He honestly is as close to perfect as life will allow! Sadly, our best friend was diagnosed with lung cancer. Our vet has found one medication that gives him some relief from a deep, dry, continuous cough so he can sleep here & there during the night. But like many other people who are experiencing a shortage of meds throughout the United States, we honestly thought we were going to have to make a very hard decision. I was calling veterinarians all over Milwaukee the last 2 to days, Hoping someone would have a few pills left to give me some more time to try to find something. I've even called Walgreens & Walmart hoping for a miracle. Thank God a receptionist at My Pet's Vet gave me the name of Pet Apothecary! Not only do they have the medication we need to but they made it into a flavor that Boxer can tolerate! We are SO THANKFUL for this place! We know we can't cure his lung cancer, but we're not ready to say our goodbyes yet. We'll keep him comfortable and continue to love him with the help of Pet Apothecary!Again, we thank you with all our hearts! You guys are great!

This is my second pet now getting medication. Love their fast prompt service. You can pick up in person or they can mail medicine to you. Many people to help you when a walk in. Short wait very friendly service and they explain everything to you and answer any questions you may have. They have a wall dedicated to all the pets they've helped which is really nice. If you choose shipping to your home it is fast service within 48 hours or so, so long waiting for a week or more wondering when it may come. Very helpful phone service too!

Last Friday morning, I needed a refill quickly and they were able to get me the medication within 2 hours to accommodate my schedule. I really appreciated that. I've been a customer for many years and Pet apothecary always helped my cats with their various medications. I'm very grateful for their services.

Always great service and friendly staff. After our dogs medications gradually increase over the past few months, we needed to shop around. Found another compound pharmacy for half the price. Was nice having a local pharmacy being able to compound the medications, but the $100 price difference made us go elsewhere knowing our pup will be on these meds the rest of her life.

I wish that you would have told my vet that the Prescription that I need for my bird was on back oder when she put it in you gave us no chance to seek a Alternative for the problem we tried to rush her to the Glendale vet hospital by 5 mins befor she had a Seizure and passed away 💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔 my wife is Heart broken ,,,,,,,rip piper 💔 😢 ♥️ ❤️ 💙 07/20/2023 you will be missed but never forgotten 💔 😢 💙 ❤️

I love The Pet Apothecary! They mail my dog's meds before I have to call for a refill making my life easier and making sure Ginger is never without her pain relief. When I do have to call, they're kind and efficient. Plus, each delivery comes with a joke and who couldn't use some comic relief. They're wonderful!

I paid extra for a delivery on Friday. I never got a call to say that they won’t make it to give me the option to pick it up. My cat and the whole family suffered all weekend. Monday morning we finally got the delivery with no call to say it’s here. It could have been outside all day. I was still charged extra. This is Absolutely appalling that a company could do this to an animal and its family.

My cat began immediately vomiting after receiving a new bottle. I called and was told the formula had changed. They charged me again to send a new bottle with the "old" formula. Cat is still immediately vomiting upon medication. For years he used to lick up the medication willfully. It's no coincidence he started vomiting at the start of a brand new bottle, but Pet Apothecary will never admit that.

The woman who called me to get my parrot, Loki’s meds was so pleasant and helpful. Explaining everything to me. My RX had to be shipped and I received it super fast!! Couldn’t get any better service!! Thank you Pet Apothecary!!

I have been using this place for a few years, their pricing has always been less expensive than the Vet's office & it ships to you fast. The products are very good & work well! They are very knowledgeable, courteous & personable. I appreciate that they call you when they have received a prescription; that makes it easier for me to not have to remember check up on it. I would (& have) recommended Pet Apothecary to anyone:)

The first time was smooth picking up the medication, not so much the second time. Had to repeatedly call about 3 times because the phones were all going to voicemail. Waited about 10 minutes between each call before calling again. The staff is a hit or miss, some are nicer on the phone than others. Parking sucks too. When I went to pick up the medicine the second time they said it was already paid for, but the women never confirmed anything on the phone about which credit card they were charging. Glad it was the right one. Will not be back. Very understaffed.

Pet Apothecary truly goes above and beyond to care for our furry patients. As a veterinarian, I never hesitate to send my clients to the wonderful pharmacists there! They do everything possible to make sure my patients get the right medication quickly and conveniently. They are completely dedicated to caring for our patients and their people! Valerie even came in to make up pain medication for my elderly patient when the pharmacy was closed so she could have a comfortable weekend. I can't thank them enough

Typically, have a relatively good experience at Pet Apothecary but my last pick up left a very poor customer service taste in my mouth. Not only were there a number of disgruntled customers standing outside already but, when in got in there, the place looked like chaos.I’m not sure if COVID just hasn’t done well for them or what but they couldn’t find me in the system by last name, address, pets name or phone number despite us having been customers for years. At the end of the day, the prescription wasn’t ready to be filled anyways 🤦♀️It was not a pleasant experience.

We LOVE the Pet Apothecary! They have been supplying us with medications for over 3 years. Today I needed a refill rushed as my Cat just had heart surgery and refuses to take anything in pill form. My vet forgot to call in the refill in the morning. I called Pet Apothecary to check status in the afternoon and they didn't have the prescription order yet. Bob from Pet Apothecary was extremely helpful. He called my vet directly. He was on hold with them for over 10 minutes but obtained the prescription. He even took the time to research getting the medication to us overnight (We live in the Madison area). We've always been impressed with the Pet Apothecary's level of quality, and service, but today I was blown away. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Pet Apothecary to anyone who has a pet with special medication needs. Simply are the best.

EDIT: After speaking with Jeff today, I feel much better about using pet apothecary in the future. He was extremely kind and took the time out of his day to call me and explain why I was experiencing issues but assured me that these would be taken care of moving forward. I truly appreciate the way he handled the situation.I have had issues with pet apothecary month after month. The first month I used them, I got my shipment with no issues. The second month, I called because I noticed my shipment had not yet arrived and I only had a few days of my dogs meds left. They told me that for some reason the auto shipment had not been turned on for my account even though I specifically asked them to do so the first time I had set up my shipment. I ended up going to pick up the meds at the pharmacy which was a huge hassle considering I am not close by. When I picked them up I checked again to make sure my auto shipment was turned on and the woman told me it was. This month (about a week ago), I got a voicemail stating that my prescription was ready for pick up. I called and asked why my auto shipment wasn’t turned on. The woman explained that they had a system update and payment/ shipment info did not transfer over. I gave her my card info and asked that she make sure my auto shipment was on for the future. She said it would be. Fast forward to today, I still haven’t received my dogs meds and I am on the last dosage. I called to check on the status of my shipment and they told me the card info I had given was entered incorrectly and that they would need to re-enter it into the system. I am not sure why someone didn’t call me last week after they realized the card info was incorrect so it could be corrected. Now I have to go and pick up the medications today which is very out of my way. After this month I will not be going through pet apothecary anymore to get my dogs medications because I can’t keep dealing with the constant issues.

I had no idea about Pet Apothecary existed until my internal medicine doctor had to fill our Saint Bernard prescription and they were the only place that were able to do so. Very friendly individuals, both on the phone and in person. Once the script was filled I was in and out rather quickly. The only thing I did not like was no one was wearing a mask, I get it people think Covid is a joke or they are just over it- but it just made me feel a tad uneasy but it wouldn't make me stop going there, I just will continue to wear my mask. Thank you so much for your help!
