This place is amazing! We took 18 screens to be fixed. They said probably about a week... the next day, they were done! Wow, that was super fast!!! Everyone was so friendly, too.

The employee that helped with getting some keys made (then also checked me out) was so friendly, which I always appreciate. I was in town visiting my Dad and was also able to pick up a few other things he needed while I was there. Highly recommend!

It hasnt changed much in 60 years, except theres more to look at in a larger space. Employees are still ,more than accommodating ,..willing to help you find what you are looking for...or not looking for. Going there is always a mew field trip in hardware adventure.DianeK

The absolute most respectful and polite employees I have ever seen! Young folks. Which is good, but unfortunately not nearly as knowledgeable to get the right info. Ace near Caledonia..has the older gentleman there. Any question..it's very important in the do it yourself hardware biz

I love small locally owned businesses.They might be a little more expensive than the big box hardware stores, but the service is worth more than the cost difference. When you ask an employee for help finding something or information on an item, they usually actually can answer any questions.

I go here alot when in the area saves me a trip to Franklin.The manager (Ron?) Is great and extremely helpful/knowledgeable. The other day I was amazed how long he helped me for a few o rings totaling a few bucks for a faucet stem.My only complaint is that it seems like they don't order too much electricial stuff and it seems like if you need more than 3 of something you still have to go elsewhere unless its a common item.

I will definitely be back to shop this Ace Hardware, we recently had a severe rainstorm, and our sump pump went out . After searching all over Milwaukee county looking for a replacement the big Box stores would not hold one for us, I called the South Milwaukee Acehardware store asked if they had this certain sump pump in stock and they said yes, I asked if they would hold it for me until I got there, we live in Franklin, they said no problem we will set it up at the front counter with your name on it. Thank you to the friendly service and courteous staff at the South Milwaukee Ace Hardware, He even opened up the Box to make sure all the parts were there for I would have a successful installment. I will pass this information on to family and friends I will definitely make the trip down there and shop this store, I loved the on hand, old school service, you will not find this at the big box stores, Thank you

It's a small hardware store that manages to pack a lot of little parts in one place. If you're looking for a few spare parts for your weekend honey do list, this is the place for it. The staff are especially helpful.

Bunch of young kids working there no knowledge of hardware ir customer service (lack of training)When called and offered feedback manager told me he knows those kids on a personal basis and that he had trained them then went on to hang phone up on meNot the kids fault seems to be a manager problem 😕

Awful place to shop got kicked out for shopping they missed out on about 500 dollars in sales because the employees rushed me n kicked me out for simply shopping and weing my options for about ooo say 5 mins they have absolutely no knowledge about the products they r selling on top of that I get better guidance on hardware from the high school students working at home Depot great job guys for losing a loyal customer 👍

I try to patronize this good hardware store because I like having one close by instead of running to the big stores on 27th St. Besides.. I've gotten great service and most often they have what I need. Great plus for South Milwaukee

Love my hometown Ace! 20 years of fixing my bungalow up with all their caulk, paint, lawn care, latches, nuts and bolts they have it all. Including great advice on product. I just had an issue with a product and they immediately sent Zach out to my home to look at it. Great service.

So much better than Menards. They actually help you here..and want to help you. Not avoid you like the employees at Menards. Something to be said for neighborhood hardware stores. Love it here...

I really like ACE but as I said before I ve been going this Ace now for past 5+years I know they can't remember everyone. Not the problem I do nor like being followed and harassed every step I took someone asked if I need help. Maybe I would if I could have a minute to breath so I can think of exactly what I need. Besides that the workers are very friendly and HELPFUL let me come to you!!!!

Always have what I need. Extremely helpful staff. Always courteous. They are a little more expensive than the big box stores, but so what. You dont have to contend with 2000 other people to grab a gallon of paint or wait 30minutes for someone to help you. Always support your local hardware store. You will miss them when they are gone.

Staff is super helpful and friendly. The prices are too high, though. But that's on the owner/management. Five stars for the kind and personable staff. It's not a big store, but they always seem to have what I need and the staff will go check in back to find something if it's not out front. Thanks, you guys and gals.

Andrew was amazing! He helped me with some washers for my faucet handles. It took over a half hour to get some stripped screws out so the washers could be replaced. Andrew replaced the washers and screws for me and saved me $40. My total bill was $1.67. You just can’t get service like that today. I will always go to ACE first. I am simply amazed at the fabulous service. Thank you so very much!

Just a good old fashioned hardware store. Always have what I need and the staff are very helpful. Join Ace Rewards to get lots of $5 coupons in the mail. They do all the little stuff like cutting keys, fixing screens, cutting glass, etc. A true gem that is hopefully around a long time!

I walked into Ace in search of a garden hose and reel. I was greeted by 2 staff members within seconds of arriving. An associate was able to guide me to the hose and reel section (answered all questions I had) and I was ready to check out minutes later. A different associate helped carry the reel to the counter and upon seeing the two small children I had with me, immediately offered to carry it to my vehicle as well. Every associate I encountered was polite, professional, and helpful. I will be making this Ace my go-to store from now on!

If I could give this a zero I would. Was in there 30-45 minutes. Not one worker asked if I needed help. Would’ve been nice to get acknowledgement like other customers who were getting help. I turned, a worker was standing right at the end of the aisle I was in. Another walked past me with an empty cart. I had questions on products I was looking at. Cashier asked if I found everything ok, stated the above. Her response “well we’ve been pretty busy all afternoon”. Needless to say, I won’t be going back there.

Small selection of stuff but extremely over priced compared to home depot or menards. 9 time out of 10 tour best bet is to drive the extra distance to menards or home depo.Staff is friendly and helpful so no complaints there but it's just not worth paying a higher bill.

I feel unjust giving this place a 1, as that overrates it. I have never had such poor customer service. I called to order a lawnmower, and they had no problem taking the order and promising me a discounted price because it's a local store. I also asked that they not assemble it because it wouldn't fit in my car full-size and I was fully capable of doing it myself.I was told it would be in 2 days later and they would call me. That call never came. I called and was redirected to a service department that didn't answer after a half-hour on hold. I called the next day and was again redirected, again they didn't answer. The third day I called I told the person they were just ignoring calls, and at least she came back on after 10 more minutes to tell me they were busy.Sick of waiting on hold, I drove up to see if my lawnmower had come in. It was there and there were no customers. Not sure if they make a habit of ignoring calls or if I just had bad timing, but spending more than an hour on hold didn't sit well when the place didn't seem to have much business. I went back to find my lawnmower fully assembled, which I had specifically asked them not to do. And to no one's surprise, it didn't fit in my car. We managed to finagle it in, but only with it balancing all the weight on the handle, which was snugly up against my right ear as I drove. Very unsafe and certainly not good for the new piece of equipment I just spent almost $300 on.Didn't call to tell me it was in, didn't answer their phones, and didn't follow simple directions that would have made their jobs even easier. I will never go back, which is sad because this is my "local" hardware store. It saved me about $5 on the price of the lawnmower, but I'd rather go to a big box store or order online where maybe they could actually do something right.
