I originally started going here because I followed Dr. V from her previous location. She is the best ever and saved my cat's life. I love the way she thinks. She's not the typical doctor that just goes with the average course of treatment. She talks it through and comes up with a plan unique to your pet. And she's a great listener and doesn't just try to rush you off the phone or out of the office. I truly love her. Once I started visiting this office regularly, I've seen that the rest of the staff is the same. I'm still getting to know the staff but so far everyone is really kind and truly cares about their patients and will take their time to listen and make sure all of your questions and concerns are addressed.

Helpful and kind staff, was able to get my cat in quick for an urgent eye issue even though we weren’t established patients. They let you know the pricing before treatment is administered, it seemed on par with other city vets. They also offered to get my cat up to date with routine bloodwork and vaccinations which I appreciated since previous vets hadn’t mentioned he was overdue. Looking forward to continuing our cats’ care here!

We have been coming here for almost 2 years with our corgi puppy and love it! Every member of the staff is always so kind and patient with whatever concerns we have had. You can truly tell how much love they have for every animal that walks through the door, and our dog is always so excited to come visit because he knows he is getting lots of cuddles/treats! Best vet clinic in the area. After a fight with cancer, my previous boy had his last moments here. They were super respectful and accommodating. Now his brother comes here for all his visits. Again, just simply, a great clinic.

We had an emergency appointment that was taken immediately with great care, warmth and friendliness. Our cat went in feeling yucky but when she got home and was able to eat and drink, she was more like herself and went to nap in her favorite spot. The staff and doctors are very understanding and let you know how they will help your best furry friend. I can't thank them enough for all they've done!! 😃

5/5 stars! I’ve been coming here for years for crazy old lady cat “Mia”. Downtown vet clinic has been so accommodating.Last year, I thought Mia was dying. She wasn’t eating, drinking, and was hissing at us and hiding all day. I took her to an ER vet that charged me $400 for NOTHING. They totally ripped me off. I just wanted to get her in quick. But I called Downtown vet clinic (her primary) they were actually able to get her in same day. And they found out what was going on in maybe 20 minutes. Dr. V is AMAZING and JESSICA the vet assistant. Omg, she was a saint. She is so knowledgeable. She gave me the best recommendations for Mia and was so so kind. I was very emotional bringing her in again. But this team makes you feel right at home.

Everyone at Downtown Veterinary Clinic has been friendly and very helpful. The tech on Saturday July 22 was especially sweet to my dog who is a rescue and is reactive. I really appreciate the help offered, the understanding and no judgment. It can be really stressful when explaining his needs to everyone who simply judges Jack as a mean dog. This clinic offers fear free care for the animals and I and Jack experienced this. Thank You to everyone.

They are not forthcoming about charges. We received multiple estimates for an operation for our cat. Day of the operation they called with additional charges.They also have sent us incorrect information and files for other patients.Their staff on the phones are not informative and not professional.

my little guy was experiencing severe constipation that was causing a massive obstruction in his body. I was fully preparing myself to lose him. I could tell right from the jump that the entire staff was prepared to give Draco their best effort to save his life & remove the obstruction. I am so grateful they helped him. He’s the happiest he’s ever been! These guys are the best :) they truly care and are willing to go the extra mile.

I have a rescue pup that has severe anxiety and has always been fearful of the vet. I met Dr Mallory Wilkommen at an event and she suggested we bring our pup in for a "get to know you" visit. Her clinic staff were amazing with our dog! It is the ONLY clinic he has been too in 9 years where he is happy and relaxed to be there. The entire staff is dedicated to fear free practices and working with the owners to provide the best experience possible for the pet. They have had some very creative solutions over the past few years to our dogs fear and anxiety. I couldn't be happier! As a dog trainer and owner of Milwaukee Paws Pet Care, I would highly recommend Downtown Veterinary Clinic.

There mission statement.Every year thousands of stray and unwanted animals are euthanized in shelters across the United States. Many of these deaths are the avoidable result of owners failing to spay and neuter their dogs and cats. Even if you keep a close watch on your pet, accidents happen, and unexpected offspring means more animals that won’t be given the chance at full, happy lives.So I called today to get a estimate on the cost of a neuter for my dog. I normally drive up north by my grandparents, but wanted to try to not do a 1 1/2 hour drive. I know it's going to cost some money, but when you tell me anywhere between $800-$1,100 which is insane. Anyone looking for decent veterinary care, spay/neuter, surgeries, I would suggest looking a bit up north. Waupun/Oshkosh/Waupaca. It maybe a bit of a drive and a day away from home, but it's well worth it. I just scheduled an appointment with my grandparents vet and the neuter costs 200$.I am going to call MADACC because they need to take them down from there website as affordable vet care.

Very rude and disrespectful staff…also they have collected $31 for a nail trim multiple times just for me to find out that when they were taking her to another room her nails werent being cut….also they were very rude to my mom who called to inform them that she would be a few minutes behind I do not and will never recommend

Coming from Chicago let’s just say this place is ridiculously expensive to take your pets too. I compared prices for both of my dogs and literally this places charged me almost 700 for a checkup and vaccines. My dog had an ear infection and i appreciated their service but was totally misinformed on what his follow up price would be. They disclosed “oh ma’am, it’s gonna be 60 bucks because he will see a vet tech”…. Lol i got charged 190 dollars. I lived in downtown Chicago and called my old vet clinic and they quoted me HALF THE PRICE. I’m not sure if I’m going back. I just feel this place just loves to charge an arm and a leg for pets to get treated there.

I love Downtown Vet Clinic. I take all my fur babies there. They have always been thorough and I can tell they truly care about animals. I appreciate the attention to detail and the kind care they give. My dog Rufus has super high anxiety and they always handle it well. Highly Recommend

I had a bad experience here. I expected extra time and a more sensitive approach from a fear free certified practice. I didn't experience anything you wouldn't at a traditional vet clinic. The staff never offered any strategies to make my dog more comfortable and ignored her obvious stress signals. I'm sure they're decent doctors but if you're looking for care that takes your animal's behavioral and emotional health into consideration you won't find it here.It turns out this practice wasn’t actually fear free certified and they were asked to removed that certification from their site. I don’t know what was behind that lie, but in my case it caused stress and harm.

As a first time dog owner, I have felt overwhelmed at times regarding how to properly care for my pup. Every member of the Downtown Vet Clinic staff have been so helpful to me. My pup is a rescue and quite skiddish around strangers and of course when going to the vet. He is now 4 years old, and I have felt so comfortable leaving my pup in their care. The vet techs are so careful and gentle with him, and have been so helpful to me with all my questions.I am grateful to have kind, caring people work with my Ollie.

I am a first time puppy owner and everyone at Downtown Veterinary Clinic has been amazing! They answer all my questions, educate me on my puppy, and are never judgmental when I don't know something or have a silly question. Everyone is great with my puppy and he is always excited to visit since he gets his favorite treats. They go above and beyond to answer my questions thoroughly and take the time to make sure I understand! Highly recommend! I also appreciate how easy it is to get an appointment made since I have an extremely busy life/work schedule.

Excellent Clinic for outstanding treatment of your pet. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the Doctor is smart, amazing with animals, friendly, approachable and respectful. They are prompt and courteous and have an awesome appointment reminder system online with suggested treatments and shots. The building is pleasant to be in. A nice waiting room with warm coffee and cream and ice water set up under a television which is on and prevents boredom if you are waiting in the waiting room while your pet is being treated. The prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend them!

If I could give this place no stars I would. I brought my cat here for an obstruction, they sent him home to me telling me he would perk up within the next few hours. The next morning he was completely unable to walk. We decided to take him in again to make sure this was normal. The doctor told us he would be fine and proceeded to send my cat home after telling me he was just "dramatic" and was in "great condition". He died just a few hours later. This is the worst vet, don't go here if you want your pet to live.

The ENTIRE staff was so friendly, positive, helpful, and caring!! I could tell immediately everyone had a very genuine love for animals, and every person working there played a crucial role in making my experience such a great one.I Came in yesterday feeling very distraught over how sick my elderly cat was, fully expecting that she might have to be put down, the doctors addressed her needs immediately, and while we're still waiting on results from her blood work, since coming home my cat has done a complete 180 and is already pretty much back to her normal eating-drinking-purring-pooping-playful self!I can't thank the staff enough for how awesome they made what could have been a traumatic experience into a very positive one!

Appointment times are always available and front desk staff is friendly. A few things made me switch vets.1. I adopted an adult dog on a medication that causes weight gain. When I originally got the her I specifically asked for recommendations on how much to feed her and followed recommendations. On each doctors visit (which was frequent in the first year) I noticed weight was going up steadily and asked if this was a concern. I got responses like "we all gain weight when we get older" and "this bread can get really big." After a while weight stabilized for a year at which point the vet said that I need to put her on a diet for weight loss.2. They encourage you to use their online prescription refill system. My orders never came through and I brought up concerns with staff and tried calling to figure out the issue. With no help I decided to go with Chewy. After 6 months of getting refills for Heart worm prevention, the vet decided that they would not renew my prescription with chewy and recommended I use they're ordering system or purchase their brand which is double the cost. I had to pick up a paper prescription and call all over town to find somewhere to fill the prescription.3. I noticed my dog gets car sick/anxiety on longer car rides so I asked for an anti-nausea med. I specifically asked if there was a dose of dramamine (cheap over the counter med) that I could give to my dog. They said no, it is unsafe for dogs. They were not able to provide rationale for why it is unsafe other than it's difficult to dose (my dog is the size of a human). They then prescribed a med that cost $60 per dose. I called 3 other vets, all said that they frequently recommend dramamine for nausea and anxiety in dogs. One vet even gave me a document showing the different dosages that are approved.It seems like the are just trying to squeeze every dollar out of my wallet. I will not be going back and specifically recommend taking your animal somewhere else.

The beginning of 2019 had been rough for my dog. She seemed to be experiencing a huge decrease in energy, incontinence, and lost her sight in her right eye. I was taking her to St. Paul's veterinary clinic and wasn't really seeing a difference. My partner and I kind of figured she was aging and that's what happens as dogs get old. Downtown Veterinary Clinic was recommended to us by a friend and we decided to give it a try. After one visit my dog is acting like she's young again. Her energy is back, her incontinence had gone away and the bulge in her blind eye has visibly decreased (no pun intended). She's actually being treated for what ails her. It's so wonderful to have my companion of the last decade looking, feeling, and acting happy and healthy again. I can't sing the praises of Downtown Veterinary Clinic loud enough so I'm writing this review. You're furry friend will love you for taking them here. Aside from the stellar treatment the vibe of the office is great and my dog showed no signs of anxiety during our trip.

This clinic was wonderful! I have had vet clinics in the past that were so cold and treated animals like objects instead of living breathing creatures. Every single person at this clinic was kind and caring. They worked with me on appointment dates/times and financial planning. They called me and sent multiple emails in confirmation of everything. Although things have gotten more difficult because of the virus, they were communicative and clear about how the process would work. My dog seemed more energetic and happy after leaving (never had a pet do that!) so they must have been so caring and comforting with him. Although I only used them for routine services and am not aware of performance with things like sicknesses and surgeries, I feel that they would do well. I definitely recommend to anyone in the area!

We had switched vet providers this year after not having the best experiences, and I’m so happy we did! The staff have always been incredibly kind and helpful with all of our questions and visits. I have not left once feeling that our concerns or questions weren’t addressed with the best care possible. Our pup loves each and everyone there so we will be here indefinitely!

I rarely write reviews- that's how much I appreciate this vet clinic! Quick, affordable, and they can generally get you in for same day appointments. I always feel like my dog is well taken care of and my concerns are addressed when I go. Couldn't be happier with this vet!

I needed to take my cat in for his first general health check-up since adopting him, and looked up the closest vet in the area. I called and was able to schedule an appointment that same day. The nurses and vet were very friendly and clear about everything, and flattered us with how "handsome" my cat was. I'm glad I have such a great clinic just a few blocks away, and know I can get my cat in with them on short notice with any emergency.
