Took the basic elementary training course here and it was great. Julia did a fantastic job walking us through all the lessons to help correct our dogs behavior and helped explain what a dog is thinking to stop unknown bad habits we were doing. Definitely worth it.

We LOVED Basic Elementary class with Julia! Our little Dolly Barkton isn’t always the model student, but Julia had great suggestions and demonstrations for us. We will be working hard on these skills so we feel ready in the future to come back for the second level of training. I highly recommend going here for classes, we felt so well taken care of. Our mini Goldendoodle went to Central Bark downtown during the summer and we absolutely loved the experience. He always run right into the place when we take him there and was bubbly and happy when we picked him up. He also did a couple of one-night boarding and when we picked him up he was the same happy puppy as always and had eaten well. We’ll be coming back.We also used grooming. They cut his nails quite well and did his first face haircut when he was about 4 months old. I’m attaching the picture of how he looked after. Cutting the hair of such young puppy and specially a Doodle mix I know is hard so we were very happy with the results.

EditMy initial review below was honest; my final review is what reflects the 1 star. We are officially saying goodbye to central bark for numerous reasons. From Mikayla reporting DAILY that our dog had constant blood in stool; we asked for photos as proof and nothing as it only magically happened under her care vs when home with us. She stopped working there and this issue disappeared. To Zak almost attacking his dad when he pulled out his leash to go on a walk. To growling at his mom when she has jeans on. To being scared at plastic bags and being startled to every noise when home. Last, to “accidentally” forgetting to feed Zak; we are sure this isn’t the first time as sometimes after daycare he eats like he’s never eaten in his life. How do you feed all dogs but forget to feed ours? We do not trust anyone with Zak, central bark is the only humans Zak knows outside of his parents care. So there is no excuse for the mounting behavioral changes in him. We cannot pinpoint elsewhere as all he knows outside of daycare is us.My husband and I work full time sales jobs and do not like the idea of leaving Zak home alone or hiring a dog walker hence why we have him at daycare Monday through Friday. Whenever we get a chance to work from home or take time off we cancel daycare to spend time with him. This is enough intel for you to puzzle everything together on his behavior. Please pay attention to your pups, they cannot speak up for themselves but they can give you hints.————————————————————————-Highly recommend this location. Our pup Zak loves the staff and his furry friends.Staff are so attentive to Zaks needs, so accommodating, and kind! Julia the trainer there does a wonderful job training Zak, he always comes home well behaved and listens more and more. We practice at home with help of his daily report cards they post on our portal with videos and descriptions of what was taught to Zak for the day and photos of him during playtime and training <3Zaks first ever sleepover was also hard for us but central bark made it easy and assuring that Zak Was in good hands while we were away for the weekend. They posted photos ofHim and a summary of his day which gave us a peace of mind.

My fiancé and I came up to Milwaukee for a weekend getaway from Chicago and it was much easier to get my dog Wrigley in for a grooming appointment here than it was in Chicago.The folks here are very friendly, ask thorough questions about what you’re looking for, and had her to me in just three hours. She looks fantastic. We’ll be back in the future when we’re up here again!

Our 22 wk Labradoodle looks great after his 2nd ever grooming appointment with Axe ( who is great, professional, thoughtful and knowledgeable)!We are very please and plan to bring him back regularly.After pic in car and before (delivery boy) pic.

We have been coming here for the last 3 weeks for training classes. Our instructor is very helpful and personable. She is more than qualified to teach us and I genuinely appreciate all of her guidance. She has also recommended great products that our girl loves.

I brought my dog in to see if he might like playing with other dogs. The staff were so incredibly welcoming, inviting, and kind. It turns out that large play groups are just a bit too much for my dog, and Central Bark did a behavioral assessment to learn this. They are so professional and accommodating. In fact, they somehow manage to clip my dog's nails where even my vet has problems. Central Bark on 1st Street is a great place I would recommend.

We love Central Bark! We take our dog once a week for daycare and another time for training. They use positive reinforcement and really care about dogs. From what I've seen, there are plenty of workers during playtime so the dogs get appropriate attention and care. My dog likes it so much he tries to go back inside after we pick him up! 🤦‍♀️

My dog loves going to daycare, he pulls me in the door like a sled dog every time I drop him off. The staff is super friendly, I love how they greet my dog with excitement and by name when he enters the door. I feel good knowing he is being well taken care of while I am at work during the day. We love Central Bark for our dog! Day care was new to him and they were so gentle to get him acclimated. They truly have his best interest in mind. We have also used their grooming services that were a 10/10!!!!!

The worst dog groomer I've ever encountered. We took both of our dogs to get groomed there the entire year they were enrolled in daycare. We never had any issues until they hired the current groomer Axe. She shaved our little guy like a rat and told me it was due to his matting, even though he wasn't matted. She also botched his ears as they were two completely different lengths, as well as his mustache. She did the same to our labradoodle and his ears still have yet to go back. We thought she was having a bad day so we decided to try again. When I called to schedule she was completely rude to me and told me that she would only shave our smaller dog, because he was aggressive. I've never heard anything but positive things from any groomer we've been to in the 10 years I've had Tank. This was also different than what I was told the last time we were in. When I questioned her about it she actually hung up the phone on me. Horrible service will never be back nor recommend to anyone.

Great grooming! Always gets my white husky (who LOVES mud puddles) thoroughly clean and soft and DE-SHEDDED! Very knowledgeable and helpful, this is the only place we take our pack.

My dog loves it here! He is always eager to get in and comes back at the end of the day tired and happy.The staff genuinely care about the dogs, and let me know if something seems to be going on.We also get our grooming taken care of during day care, and they do a great job. Never any weird haircuts , and his nails always look great.We are about to start the individual training sessions, and I can't wait to see the results.

My dog loves this place!! It's run like a tight ship. Very organized and also has a great staff to accommodate each dog. Love the nap time for my dog loves sleeping in her"alone time" kennel. I have a border collie so she's super hard to tire out, and every time I pick her up, she thanks me with a kiss and takes a quick nap in the car. Love her smiles when I pick her up!!

I’ve been with CBD for about 5 or so months and you have the most wonderful staff that I’ve come across in a LONG time. I go to a lot of service industry based business and the level of customer service from your staff is amazing.The staff is there bright eyed and smiling at 7am to eagerly greet Charlie as she comes tearing through the door. Then, to watch how they handle 85 people picking up their dog at the same time is amazing - the staff NEVER seems flustered or overwhelmed when I’ve been in there. The training, spa services and weekend stays are just a bonus!!!!Wonderful group of people

Bailey absolutely loves Central Bark Downtown! When we pull up, he can't wait to jump out of the car and run inside. Once in, the staff is waiting and smiling. At night, Bailey is worn out from a day of fun. Thank goodness we found Central Bark Downtown! I highly recommend it. They have wonderful staff always willing to answer questions and a great shop with toys, treats and food. I couldn't ask for anything more from a doggy daycare.

The staff at Central Bark is amazing. In all my times there I've never seen someone without a smile and not willing to help. In a job where there can easily be frustration with unpredictable dogs and owners, that speaks volumes. They know you treat your dog as family and it's so nice to leave your pup in that environment.

My little Jack Russell can be a little neurotic and refuses to let me cut her nails, so I bring her in to central bark every couple weeks and they remember her and are so sweet. The groomers always do a wonderful job! (Plus they have a nail trim punch card!) Highly recommend them!

My high energy, 5 year-old pup comes home happy and worn out. He gets excited even when we drive by. When it's warm out they have puppy pools to splash around in. Drop off and pick up are a breeze and staff is super friendly and knows my dog AND myself by name. They also do grooming and nail trims, when requested, while he is there. So, I don't have to make an extra trip. Highly recommend!!

We love Central Bark Third Ward! We are so thankful for the amazing staff who take care of everything from boarding to grooming to doggy daycare. The retail store has great treats, toys and helpful products we can rarely resist.
