We adopted our first cat from them about 13 years ago. She passed away this past October. So once the oldest finally convinced the wife and I we needed to save another cat well another cat turned Into 2. They were easy to contact, easy to work with and they take such great care of their residents until they find new homes.

They are great people when my Romeo Matteo took off after a bunny was gone from 4an until I got him back from the Humane Society. He was so exciting to see my friend with me he went right to her instead of me😭 probably knew he did a big time 👿 naughty! You have to love them😘😘 ❤❤❤❤😍

They've got some adorable babies and I just want to take them all home! Kitties are two for one adoptions...and they do great in pairs! Plus, there's other critters, even guinea pigs!

Whoever runs their social media should absolutely be thrown in jail. They post photos of animals that come from hoarding homes as “lost” or “strays” instead of addressing the issue head on, then delete any comments anyone may makes opposing it. This place only perpetuates the animals issues the county has and claims to do good. What a joke.

Volunteered here and was able to play with all the animals. Staff was so friendly to everyone who walked in and the animals were visibly taken care of and were so loveable.

We were treated very well and given a private room in which to spend time with the dog we wanted to see. We were happy with the dog and with all our paperwork in order we were able to take Lucky hone with us!

They sold my dogs after someone took them away from me and won't give them back. They renamed them and sold them when they knew I was working on getting them back. And if a dog is there for so long because they have a no-kill rule they send them to a different County that doesn't have that rule so that way when they don't get adopted from the other County the other County can put them to sleep. Lincoln County humane society is a joke. They also over charge for the adoption process and make it almost impossible for anybody to be able to adopt an animal

We went in today and all the animals seemed to be very well cared for. The staff allowed us time and privacy with the animals, they were very accommodating, and made the process easy! The $25 cat adoption is an awesome deal too!The cats/kittens had plenty of food and water, clean litter boxes, and lots of room to play.The dogs each had their own pen with access to the outside.The facility was very clean!

We were fortunate to get a brand new shelter in Lincoln County a couple years ago & this one is beautiful. Plenty of space for our furry friends & even some without fur. The place is clean, bright, well-maintained & doesn't smell. The staff is wonderful, compassionate & knowledgeable. It is a No-Kill shelter so please remember to donate whenever you can !!! 🐶🐹

Adopted our cats and dog from here! Friendly and.caring staff! Would recommend not neutering or spaying pups there at 6 or 8 weeks prior to leaving as it stops hormonal and growth hormones. Leading to health issues. Our pup who is only 6 was diagnosed finally this last spring after a few years of limping on and off and now continuous limping this spring with Ostearthiritis. Plus lots of other health issues. Allergies since young age and now dry eyes. He is on at least 6 different medications. His Osteoarthritis is a lot better now with meds. But cant chase his ball any more. Much to young.to have this and so many other issues. Had I known the risks of neutering at 6, 8 weeks before taking him home I would have waited and brought back proof he was neutered closer to a year. Now he is suffering a lit of health issues and it is also very costly with lots of vet visits and life long medications. Other than that they are great at Lincoln humane society. Just dont let your an adopted pup get neutered so young.

6 months ago be and my bf wanted to get a dog, my bf suggested the shelter here in Merrill, not being from around here I was a little uneasy having not the best experience in the past with other shelters. Got there and the girls at the desk were super helpful and let me look around and take my time. We found our Finn but he was not up for adoption yet and was a stray. They were wonderful with informing us with how he was doing and if on chance he was claimed. After a week we brought him home and he is the bed addition to our growing family! The staff here really love the animals and do such a great job and really took the time to do a meet and greet with out other dog as well! We did find out later Finn was a little bit younger then what we were told and had lymes but other then that was fine. Again if you want to go to a place with great people and animals that are loved and cared for this is it! I can't say enough great things!

The Lincoln County Human Society is very nice place for the animals. But my wife and I didn't receive a cat we wanted due to a conviction that happened over 10 years ago. People do change and even improve their lives through positive choices. So I think it's not their place to judge a person by their records...... We adopted a cat from Marathon Human Society!

The people are super helpful and friendly. They care for the annals with love but could always use help. They NEVER put the animals to sleep.The place is kept very clean.Please ADOPT your pet from there. If not adopting you can DONATE your Time, Money, Food or even Cat Litter.

He's turned into my best friend.***UPDATE*** 1 week after Roscoe's 5th birthday he sadly passed away. A couple years after I got him he started having Epileptic Seizures. We managed his meds and lifestyle . He was such a young and loving dog. He made friends with everything! He was definitely the kind of dog that if someone didn't like him, I didn't want to know! He was the best traveling partner ever.... I'll miss you big guy. I hope you find a great place for ice cream!!

Very friendly staff and all I honestly wanted was to rent an animal cage to catch a stray cat in the neighborhood but they also a lot of us look at the other animals that were already there.... I put money down on the cage and got my deposit back once I returned it in working order / same way I got it.

Love to go and even just spend time with some of the animals, take a dog for a walk or hang out with the cats. Make sure to give them ALL attention and to be gentle & slow around animals who are new to the shelters. Thank you to all volunteers and staff you guys are incredible!

I visited this place with a friend when she adopted a 8 month old kitten. I found this place very clean and the animals were very well taken care of. staff was very friendly and helpful.

The new building is great. Doors are well marked for what you are looking for from the outside. Less parking than previous location but hasn't been an issue on any of my visits. LCHS posts often on social media about lost or missing dogs, provides resources for pet owners, and shows the selection of pets you can rescue. If you are looking to donate items right in the front door on the table they have a print off of their "wish list" so it is really convenient to know you are actually donating items that the shelter is in need of. I would recommend LCHS to anyone searching for a pet. Great job LCHS!*I adopted a pet from here*
