I love this lil market always so home feeling. I didn't go in for awhile and when I did I notice they changed. It still felt the same the employees r so nice I went through Lonna's line and she was the sweetest and helpful I will always go through her line if she is working no matter how long it is.

Honestly I’ve had nothing but bad service from Dave’s county market but please let me explain further, I’ve had nothing but bad service from all the females at the check out counter their all rude lazy and act entitled and or like their status is higher than yours!I was just at Dave’s county market this morning and the lady checking me out just kept clacking her nails on the counter staring me down very smug like; asked me if I’d like my receipt toasted it in the bagged as I had my hand out for the receipt, she couldn’t even hand me my bag or pull it into my reach I had to awkwardly reach around the Covid screen to try to reach my bag well she was still rudely clacking her nails and rudely staring at me. Oddly enough all the males I’ve encountered at Dave’s county market are really nice and helpful and respectful so overall this ⭐️ is not on you guys 😞

Why do your cashiers seem so miserable all the time !? I shop here for certain products that I am happy to know they have, but every time I come in , it seems no matter who is checking me out, I never get a "Hello" .. just a miserable face that doesn't even speak to me . In fact tonight I stopped in , got to Tanya's register, she didn't welcome me or say a word to me , I then say "Hello" to her ...she says nothing .. she scans my stuff, then mumbles , " you want a receipt? " , I say "no thank you " .. I then ask if I can get a bag for the 6 pack I got , she doesn't say a word... she does put them in a bag, but then mumbles miserably "have a good night" , which was not in a nice tone at all !! She is not the only one who acts that very same way - every*single*time I go in there !

I have to admit I am shocked and I'm sure the owner would be shocked to know that the 5 checkout machines they put in that business are never on and are purposely turned off to give the illusion that they need there human workers there even though Everytime I go there I'm watching these young kids stand around chatting and there are lines of people trying to get checked out, like each machine probably cost between 20 and 30 thousand per machine and they are turned off, i hate going there just to pick up a couple items and end up waiting in gridlock because these kids or whoever are turning these machines off, what a waste of money, quit turning that off really it's unbelievable with 5 self checkouts that from what I can find online cost 125 thousand for all 5 lol, pathetic and not going to stop you from being replaced by a robot just understand its happening whether you like it or not. I shouldn't be waiting in line with 80 thousand in machines right there and they are shut off it makes me sick, I really don't think the owner of the store knows these kids are doing this and it needs to stop

Bought tenderloin and it was so tough even had to cook it for 1-1/2 hours and that didn't help. This has been going on for years but, this was the worst. Not happy with the chicken that tastes old and the hamburger too. Meat is very expensive. Better quality would be nice for the price. Not buying it from there anymore.By the way, it's not tenderloin, It actually backstrap.

Absolutely horrible experience with the bakery. I had showed a picture to one of the workers who told me they can do this specific type of cookie. When I picked the cookies up, they were not at all what I ordered. The workers in the bakery could not even apologize for their mistake and actually told me that I should have been more specific with what I wanted. How much more specific can you get with a very clear picture or a very specific type of cookie? Just pathetic. And now the children who were hoping for these cookies will get nothing even close to it for their Halloween party.

Very clean store , very nice meat variety!!!The main thing that bothers me is that they are NOT competitive in their prices , they are higher across the board even with the sale price included at times!!!I try to be fair and honest when leaving my opinion and I didn't like to leave a low grade but if you shop at Dave's regularly you would have to tend to agree !!!Sorry...but... Not Sorry !!!

If You’re going to shop here make sure you check every expiration date. Every time we come here in the last two months we’ve had at least one item that we didn’t notice the expiration date till we got home, Yesterday we bought two Dunkin donut coffee’s that were four months past expiration.

The store clerks are pretty nice. Prices are a little high but not more than what you expect to pay at your average local grocery. They switched the bakery to self serve windows and they make the best hard rolls and fried crassonts. Oh and I don't really take advantage of it but they have a really nice liquor department I think LOL

Skip the lines at Wal Mart and do your grocery shopping here, where real people still scan your items although self checkout is available too. Everything is always real fresh.

Another apparent decline in Merrill. Checking out has become just as much a pain as Walmart. Long lines with only a couple of cashiers. One of which wants to sit down and run her mouth while ringing up merchandise. Customer service desk is seldom staffed with someone who doesn't act like they don't see you. Original owner Dave (rest his soul) is probably rolling in his grave seeing how sad things have gotten. It's still a nicely stocked store, it just needs some improvement up front with that staff

We have property up here in the Merrill area and we had to get a few odds and ends for the camper. We had this baloney spread it was delicious went back again for it and probably will grab some before we go home.

REALLY good meat. Nice people. If they don't have it, ask and they will get it. It's a bit more but I'd much rather have the wider variety and support our local community than get stuck buying the brand and size that the big guys dictate with their 'take it or leave it' attitude. I'm moving on to India and other foreign shores but I appreciate the kindness of these folks over the last few years. Highly recommend.

It's too bad the only review so far on Yelp was a negative one, as this store is a gem!I get up to Merrill a couple times per summer to fish and paddle in the area, usually camping at Council Grounds State Park. This store is a godsend when I am in this area.Their selection is very respectable for the size of the store and the size of the community. I've always been able to find whatever I needed. Indeed, when I visit the area I actually don't shop prior to leaving Madison just so I can visit Dave's.The staff is almost overpoweringly positive and friendly. Even the cashiers genuinely seem to enjoy working there and treat customers with respect and interest.Prices are actually very good, but of course I have the perspective of being from a city where food prices are a bit above average overall.

I love going to Dave's because everyone is always polite and helpful. They say hi and actually look you in the eye which doesn't happen in other stores. It's like they don't appreciate the customer not realizing that the only reason they have a job is because of the customers. Ignoring customers shows that that person doesn't really want to be there. I've been in customer service for over 35 years and I am a certified Customer Service Professional and I have trained people as well. I have been unemployed for over 5 years so it erkts me to see people who don't appreciate their customers or their jobs.The other thing I like is you have the best fruit in town and your shelves and aisles are always faced, neat, and clean.Great job and keep up the good work!!!😄

Great pricing for a grocery store! I also like that the meat dept is cutting all day it's always fresh and full! I would recommend stopping in and trying our awesome bakery too! Alot of stuff we make from scratch!

Everything grocery under one roof. They have a deli and an amazing bakery. For those who don't like "hoomans" (sheepishly raises hand) they have self checkouts. Nice selection of beer, liquor and wine too.

My God this place went straight downhill since being bought by Festival Foods !! The bakery used to be so good and is now AWFUL! The new employees are unfriendly and unhelpful , the prices sky rocketed and the deli is just plain bad ! I go there as last resort only.

Shop there all the time & have been getting gas there since they put the pumps in, with no problem. Lately, however, the screens on the pumps are so dim we can"t read them.

This Is A well-stocked grocery store with lots of variety and vegetables homemade Deli and Meat area with specialty Cuts. They also have a nice liquor department and many discounts for loyal members. Adequate parking easy access in downtown Merrill from both East and West streets. It is handicap accessible with handicap restrooms and polite friendly cashiers and staff nice store. I recommended if you need groceries especially if you're camping at Council Grounds State Park.
