Mayville True Value is a mom & pop type store. They have a little bit of everything. The people who work there are wonderful, very knowledgeable & helpful. If you can't find something, just ask & an employee can point you in the aisle you need to be in. Last time I was there, they had a big fluffy dog who wandered around the store, greeting everyone. He is the calmest dog I believe I've ever encountered. The only issue I have with this company is their prices. Things seem to be a bit on the pricey side. Other than that, it's a great store. I give them a 9 out of 10. Lol.UPDATE: No longer True Value....it is now an Ace Hardware. Still love this place! All employees are happy to help. WONDERFUL PEOPLE, GREAT PLACE!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

It's a traditional hardware store but also the gift shop within gives you a lot of variety of whatever you might want or need. I went in for potting soil and rock salt and ended up looking at purses and jewelry, and some traditional baby shower/wedding shower types of things I hadn't seen in a while. It's worth going in and taking a walk around. Normally I only go there in Spring to buy flowers. I certainly will keep this place in mind for future gifts. I'm not a Fix-It woman, but it's still fun to bum around in a hardware store in a small town 😊

Love this store the only qualm I have is that they never went back to normal operating hours after Covid. As a contractor it’s not really possible to wait until 8 to gather supplies. Awesome place with that great small town service!

Went there with my grandfather to get some stuff for the house and I was surprised to see how well they try to keep the place looking, even having someone vacuum the rugs to make sure everything looks clean. Wasn't very busy when we got there and the employees were very nice.

Staff knows what they're talking about, usually can tell you exactly where to look. Also a great place to browse, you come across the most unique things(hardware, fasteners, oddball tools) that you never find in the big box stores. About 2 years ago the entire store was gone through and updated,got rid of the old and shook it all up. Very reliable and knowledgeable on the live plant scene as well. My hometown go-to.

This is nice hometown hardware store. It is not a huge chain nor is it tiny. They may not have everything but they have quite a bit. It also has a unique crafts section with items that are very appealing. I can only guess but some things would be very hard to find elsewhere. The staff is always very helpful and goes out of their way to make sure you have what you need and they are also willing to toss in some valuable advice from time to time.

So I didn’t see the ‘no return’ on the receipt for my sd cards and the owner David helped me out by letting me exchange them anyway. SOLID CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Very grateful customer here!!! We are from out of town and needed an item. We never expected to walk in and see clothing and so many gift options. Such great holiday decorations. We went in for one item and all of us left with purchasing something. The staff was friendly and helpful.

They usually have everything you’d need in a pinch as far as normal hardware items go. Beats driving all the way out to a big box store.Good selection of rental equipment also.Staff is always nice.Their crafts/home decor section is pretty cool too. Lots of neat things

Love having them in Mayville!! I hope they never close this store. I always find the coolest and sometimes unusual things to buy here. I also love their spring flower & vegetable selections they bring in each year, too.So go take a look cuz I'm sure you'll find something you need or like at this store.

A superb hometown hardware store with highly knowledgeable help and friendly atmosphere. They carry a larger variety compared to others and also have an area made up of locals good/products from soap/candles to decor and clothing.Well worth the stop! And prices are comparable to others.

Lady at the register was nice other than that a local store that has declined . Not very organized . I asked for help finding specific items and the gentleman acted as if i was taking him from a better job. Im sorry for asking friend. I'm sad to see a once cool store ( ben franklin radio shack true value ) become such a shambles .

Not only can you get all your hardware needs resolved in this wonderful store but Rosie runs a excellent business with clothing decorator items it's just a fabulous place to visit. When I have friends come in from out of state they always ask if they can go with me to my hardware store. other friends that I work with laugh because I tell them I buy my clothes at the hardware store. It's just unbelievable the variety of things you can get at good prices at this store.

They are really helpful! If they don't have something they will try to order it for you and have it on the shelves! And the help is fantastic! Always pleased to help you find whatever you are looking for and will help take big items out yo the car for you! Awesome!

Ok maybe I'm being dramatic but this has to be the nicest true value I've ever been to and I've gone to at least a dozen. It has clothes, cute seasonal decor, fish, school supplies, the classics - paint, tools, anything a handyman would need. Staff is helpful. Highly recommend!

Mayville has two fabulous hardware stores, and this is one of them. Always amazed that they seem to have everything I need, even though the store is a tad on the smaller side. Great service, just as you would expect in a small Midwestern town.
