The Carl W Nelson animal shelter is the first place I recommend to anyone looking to adopt a cat or dog into their family. The two cats I adopted are truly amazing! The shelter provides a meet and greet room with treats and toys so you can socialize with your potential family members.I support this non-kill nonprofit shelter because of the workers and volunteers, that selflessly dedicate their time to finding their adorable cats and dogs a chance at loving homes.

Well-managed, caring and clean shelter with very reasonable rates. I was impressed with their prompt and friendly communication and the lovely handmade care pack they gave upon adopting an animal. Don’t pay $300+ dollars for a spayed and immunized rescue animal; come here, where they charge around $75 and are extremely gracious and kind.

Got us a new family member female black lab 6 months old, she is a good dog Fell in Love with her as soon as met her,got even more with her at home her name was Christy Brinkley she goes by LUCY now,we found out she's a loving dog and a couch potato plus a lap dog

I recently adopted my two kitties from here. The staff was very quick and helpful to respond to my request for adoption. I think what I loved the most about this place was that besides it being a no kill shelter, the cats and kittens were allowed to socialize in rooms with other cats instead of being cooped up in cages. I would definitely adopt again from this wonderful place.

A lady came out with a dog named toast that she's been working with and we are trying to adopt she was the nicest lady and most informative she was very knowledgeable and in my eyes are professional with animals The place is awesome it's a small place outside of town by mauston so if you have donations please bring them everything helps

I got my two cats from here. It is a small, well-run facility. Rather than keeping the cats in cages, they are housed in a huge catio with cat stands, beds, hiding places. And keeping them all together helps with their socialization. I love this shelter and the personnel.

Just adopted my puppy today!!!Building was clean the animals looked well and the staff were friendly and making sure we had everything we needed.I would adopted again from them and I would also recommend going through this shelter.

Very rude people that work there. We got told that it is our fault that the outdoor cats do not have homes but would not take any of our little kittens that our outside cat had that we wanted to give homes. They don’t care about other animals well beings and finding them homes. Would never recommend this place heard nothing but bad stories over the years and now we finally had a bad experience with them.

Very Rude People. PULLED up In Urgent Need Of Assistance And The Lady And Girl Just Looked At Us Thru The Window As If We Weren't Out From. Even Though The Sign Says Closed It Would Be Prudent For Them To Check On What People Are Out Front For...Would Not Recommend This Place.
