This review is hard solely because they have pushed out really great authentic mexican food. Their tacos are great, their tamales are the best in town but the quality seems to very greatly. I can go one day and its great and then go the next day and my meat will be way overcooked to where its crunchy. The place itself is pretty dirty and run down and there is def a language barrier there. I do not speak Spanish but as a customer and an uber eats driver who picks up orders the struggle of communication sucks. They also seem to price the tamales at whatever they choose. I went in and grabbed 2 backs for 24$ my friend later that day went in and paid 40$ for the same 2 bags. All in all I do go here regularly because more often then not its good and or decent. They need to keep up on the quality and make it consistent.

I wasn’t expecting much in terms of authentic Mexican food in Manitowoc, WI, but Fast Taco/Lupitas takes the prize for most disgusting. I ordered three tacos (beef, pork, and steak), and they were all extremely dry and had an odd, almost unpalatable taste. The refried beans were no better, also with an odd taste, and the rice had no flavor at all, like eating wet paper. Making my experience even worse, the restaurant gave me only one tiny lime wedge and did not include any salsa, napkins, or even eating utensils. What a complete joke, but not in any way funny. I feel sick now.

The food always has an off taste. Overpriced. Staff is not friendly. One worker actually questioned if I spoke Spanish, I do, but, they speak in unusual inflections, making it hard to understand. I never got the drink I ordered either, she kept insisting she gave it to me. I've given this place too many chances and this was the last straw.

Pretty sure they took my change .. hard to order when they cant understand you . Only got 2$ back and just got 3 steak tocos which are 11.49 like mmmk . Handed her a 20$ bill , go inside much easier to see and explain

Food was ok but had some weird taste to the beans and meat. I had the carnitas plate and the meat was dry until I got to the last few bites that were in what I thought was juice from the meat, but it had a chemical taste/smell. I don’t think we’ll eat there again.

I eat here time and time again. The food is great and i (usually) never leave disappointed. If you show up late they sometimes are out of things.. you know. But it is a small restaurant made for quick and easy orders. Don't go there expecting to be waited on hand and foot. It is FAST Taco! Super short wait times and always delicious, authentic Mexican food.

This is a nice place to get a taco. We got the American tacos. They were very good and hit the spot. This definitely just a four star place. Everyone was friendly, and the bathrooms were clean. But if your looking for “amazing” tacos, this is not quite the place, the tacos are just a solid “pretty good”.

Used to love this place next to our Manitowoc car dealership, (Broadway) and would stop twice a week. Went tonight and I was treated horrible, the food is not worth it now, gave new location a try and I regret it. Walked in to "vagabundos en busca de novias", and I will never be a regular customer again. You have ruined your chance with our families money. I'd rather wait at Taco Bell than listen to comments about me in espanol while getting a burrito. Never assume the customer doesn't know the language, I'm done.

Place isn’t as good as everybody says, my guess, no one here has had truly authentic flavorful food lmao. Burrito didn’t have much flavor, both salsa’s also had no flavor, just heat. The tacos were also not that good, although the tortillas were pretty good. I guess it’s my mistake to trust any reviews of any restaurant that’s not burger’s around here lol. Manitowoc needs more diversity.

I liked this place a lot more in June of 2020 and earlier. I patronized this business at least once a month for the past 2 years or so and I've noticed it's quality of food go down. It's steak tastes like it's being prepared differently and lacks seasoning. Also, about a month ago I saw the person preparing my meal wipe beans off his gloved finger and flung it onto my plate. I was grossed out and told them that I changed my mind about the order and drove off. It's red and green sauces are really watered down as well. The last straw that broke camels back was when I gave them another chance earlier this week and I saw through the window the person preparing the food cough without having a mask on and without covering his mouth after the lady at the window passed me my food. I wondered if he's been doing that and what type of droplets were already in the air being dispersed around during the COVID 19 era at that. This is disheartening to me especially seeing there's not many great tasting places to eat in this small town and I lost a favorite.

Like most I was unsure of the quality of the food just by the outside sight of the restaurant but after trying the tacos, the food definitely changed my mind. Only downside is the customer service. The young man that took my order decided to speak disrespectfully about me to the other employees as I was ordering. Food was excellent but do not assume that all your customers don’t understand Spanish.

Had a carne asada burrito with everything but salsa in it.The burrito itself is huge, one of the biggest I've ever had, about 2.5 meals worth. Good tortilla with it. Overall though it was way too salty and the rice was mushy, no detectable seasonings except salt. It's almost a $10 burrito, likely due to the size but the ingredients matter too and that's where it fell a bit short for me. Asada just seemed like really shriveled salty beef.I'll give this place another go at some point and check out their other items. Nice staff here.

Food came out cold. Room temperature was warmer than the food. Very little meat and rice with beans. Never checked to c how things were. Waited longer for the check then did for the food. Ask for water and have someone else get it and it took forever. We were the only ones in the restaurant. Will not return
