We had our dog Thor going to the MW office for 12 yrs. He and us were always treated with respect and empathy. Thor got top notch care. The people here embody respect and compassion for animals. No matter how busy, they always make you feel like they have all the time you need. When my Mom was visiting with her 18-year old dachshund, Trixie, who was coming to her end time, the staff helped her cross over with as much kindness and gentleness that anyone could ask for. A sympathy card came later, signed by everyone there. And today, I received a letter from the UW School of Veterinary Medicine that a donation was made in memory of Trixie. That's the kind of good will that has made me a loyal patient there for all my pets over the years.

We sadly needed to euthanize our 18-year old cat, and it couldn't have been a more gentle, comforting, and supportive experience at Northwoods Animal Hospital in Minocqua. We were treated with such kindness and compassion from the first phone call to the time we quietly left, and we were immediately accommodated in their schedule the same morning I called. I am most grateful for the wonderful people at Northwoods Animal Hospital!

I recently got a dog from a rescue organization and took her into established care. The doctor spent very little time with her seemed disinterested and furthermore fell to inform me that distemper vaccine was bundled in with the leptospirosis and Lyme disease vaccines. So I didn't realize she was getting that. Of course I would have wanted her to but because I was unaware of that I did not hurry back to get her booster when I was unable to keep my original appointment.Since the two vaccines I thought she was getting our optional, I assumed she was fully vaccinated. When I needed to board her because of family emergency they informed me that she was not up to date on her distemper shot. I learned this one day before I had planned to take her in and I asked if I could bring her in and get the booster. They told me they were sorry but they were fully booked and they did not keep Saturday hours so there's no way they could help me. I know that it took less than 2 minutes to give her her shots when I took her in before it took less than 10 minutes for the vet to do the questionable exam he provided. I offered to bring her in at the end of the day so as not to inconvenience any other patients and just have the doctor administer a quick booster but they were to accommodate that request.Additionally the doctor failed to read the report from the veterinarian who had seen her before I adopted her. He gave her heartworm medication which is rather expensive, and when I got home and reread her veterinary records, I became aware that she had been given a shot and did not require any additional heartworm medicine until next year. Overall my experience was not positive and I will be finding another source of care for my dog.answering questions that I had and did not explain the reasons for the immunizations that he gave her. Further he did not let me know that she was receiving a distemper shot as well as a leptospirosis and Lyme disease vaccine. As a consequence

My dog Boomer was having a terrible problem with his ear. They got him in quickly and knew exactly how to fix him up. One week later his ear is perfect. The price was very reasonable. Love this place!

They were super understanding of my concerns about one of my babies. I'm new here and didn't want to send my lil dog in without me. The vet came out to the car and spent time helping out including a prescription. Loved it!

Northwoods Animal Hospital is excellent. We had exceptional care from Dr. Hayman when our dog was sick. He was able to provide us with emergency care and run labs on site. Scarlett is now doing well!
