Everyone has always been friendly, helpful, honest, and made sure I knew my pets were in loving hands.From excitedly recognizing my girls, to birthday emails with cute pictures, to a card signed by the whole team after their passing, thank you for all that you do.

I just moved home to Seattle after several years in Madison. Last week I accompanied my mom to our local vet to put down our family dog. The experience was rough and left me inspired to leave a review for my Madison vet. I kept rats for years and they were wonderful with them, especially when it came time to say goodbye. Just incredible sensitivity. They have a bereavement room that makes the experience so peaceful and much less clinical. And the staff is so thoughtful and patient and willing to hear you tell stories about your pet as you say goodbye... just a really stark contrast from my recent experience at another vet. Plus they sent out sympathy cards signed by the staff, which I always thought was a really classy move. I could not recommend them more highly. Great care for our dog! We've trusted Healthy Pet for years and always received quality check ups, a real partner in ensuring our dog's health. Recently we feared our dog got into something grape-based (bad news!). They fit us in for some quick blood work and followed up to make sure there were no behavioral changes. They really cared about our dog and also our peace of mind. THANK YOU for going above and beyond!

This place is amazing. They took us in during the pandemic when no other clinics would and have given our little ones the BEST care I could have hoped for. Every staff member has been incredibly friendly and loving to our Malamute. They take the time to really figure out what is wrong, give you solid advice in every situation and have always been available during emergencies.

This place is amazing. Not only is Dr. Christman extremely knowledgeable and friendly, but the entire staff was welcoming and pleasant. It’s extremely difficult to find a vet who actually knows how to provide care for exotics. Many vets say they will “see” exotics, but I prefer to go to a vet who actually knows how to treat exotics. I drove an hour from the Milwaukee area to see Dr. Christman, and I will now see her as my primary vet. Zoey and I thank this facility for their awesome care!!

We really love Healthy Pet Vet! Staff are knowledgeable and professional, and up-to-date with the latest in vet care. We have a pet with particular behavioral issues and Dr. C. has bent over backwards to accommodate him and make our visits as positive as possible. Additionally they are very open to pet owners' concerns/preferences, and are creative in making sure excellent care is able to be given. Highly recommended!

Had to have my Guinea pig euthanized due to cancer. They were able to accommodate and get me in right away. The vet and vet tech were both very patient and helpful in the process. They have a room you’re able to sit comfortably on a couch in private to mourn. I didn’t have anyone there with me but the vet actually stayed with me throughout. It’s been really difficult for me to find a good Guinea pig vet that actually seems to really specialize and know about them, and not only that but a place that’s also affordable. They removed one of his tumors awhile back and the surgery cost half of what a different vet in the area quoted me.

Dr. Christman, the technicians and staff, namely Alyssa (sp?-thank you Alyssa, sorry if misspell!)-they all have come to my rescue many times when both my guinea pigs are old Boars and have health issues. They got my one little guy in before the weekend, and thank goodness because he has pneumonia and needed antibiotics. We just got 3 kitties (Sisters) from my parents recently and we took them all in for their shots, etc and one of them had an eye/resp infection. The Vet there was very professional, nice who dealt with my Mom who brought the kitties in while I was at work. I really liked the follow up's they do via e-mail with each kitty's profile/info, etc. I'd highly recommend taking your cats/pets here! :)

I was very happy with my first visit to Healthy Pet Vet Clinic with my cat Tommy. The staff was super friendly, and I really appreciated the detailed answers to all of my questions. They also followed up with me via email. I will definitely be back and plan on Healthy Pet as Tommy's permanent vet.

I am so pleased with this group, that after moving I'll still go to them even though they are an hour and a half away!!!! I have 2 dogs and a cat. They have had normal checkups, surgery, dental care (dogs), and have been very satisfied with them!

I unfortunately had to bring my rattie in for euthanasia when her breathing became too strained and she was clearly suffering. The receptionist was very kind and sympathetic on the phone when I was making the appointment. When I arrived we were immediately brought into a back room to wait, rather than sitting out in the lobby. (While the appointment time, cage size, and apparent tears on my face were good clues, they didn't even have to ask for my name when we arrived). The process was very clearly explained and all options were spelled out for us. They took care of payment before the procedure so we wouldn't have to worry about it after. They gave us some time to say goodbye and let us walk out the back door, rather than through the lobby. My only complaint is that there were no tissues in the room we were sitting in! I will be bringing my future pets to Healthy Pet. Thank you for ending my pet's suffering with respect, even though she was just a little rat.

Excellent care!Healthy pet was recommended to us by the Wisconsin House Rabbit Society; they’ve never steered us wrong and this is another great example.There is a dedicated rabbit room and the staff are obviously knowledgeable & comfortable with rabbits. Even better, they are kind, patient, thorough, and put me & the Bun Bun completely at ease. We got in for our appointment promptly, everything went very smoothly. I was quite anxious about my rabbit’s health & worried about her comfort but I felt we were both well cared for with professionalism & compassion.I’m especially impressed with their communication & record keeping. All our previous info was there to reference, and they offered to compile info from previous vets too. After the visit their follow up was just what we needed, plenty of info, clearly explained with patience, and offers of various options.Highly recommended.

I take my fur babies to this wonderful place and couldn't be happier. The staff is phenomenal, I walk in and they greet my babies like they are their own. Let me just say my Walter is a french bulldog and a puppy who is incredibly unruly and has no sense of personal space, acts like this is his second home and the staff treat him as such. He recently was nutered and not once did I worry if he was being taken care of. My Tucker a rescue Jack Russell is much older and it takes more to impress him, but his stubby little tail gets to wagging and a pep in his step when he sees the staff here. So if you're looking for a clinic to take your babies too, I highly recommend it, this is one of the best.

We saw Dr. Carla for years with our greyhound and received excellent care. My beagle was recently at Healthy Pet for a dental cleaning and I was very happy with the cleaning itself and the care he received from staff. The vet technician thoroughly reviewed the paperwork and explained optional procedures we could add-on. I felt he was very straightforward with me about what was recommended for my dog's health and what I could opt out of this time. I received a call from the doctor shortly after the procedure describing the condition of my dog's teeth as well as very clear pictures showing the work that had been done. The whole process was very thorough. The costs at Healthy Pet have always been very reasonable and fair. Overall the staff have a great dedication to keeping pets at their best and that keeps me coming back!

I highly recommend this vet clinic! I first started going here with my older dog Foxy. In his final year, the staff took such good care of him. Even when I was in with my other dog, they would inquire how he was doing and took the time to listen to my concerns and make suggestions to improve his quality of life. Now, I take my puppy here and couldn't be happier with the care she receives on the puppy plan. I never have to worry about asking a question or bringing her in. I'm so happy to have found this clinic. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the clinic is always clean and orderly.

We've been through a lot of vets and have become very untrustworthy of all of them, so we are so happy to have found Healthy Pet! Our 2-year old teddy bear tends to be very naughty, so we find ourselves going into the vet more often than we’d like to admit, which is why we also buy pet insurance through Healthy Pet!! Extremely friendly staff, clean and welcoming offices, and best of all, extremely knowledgeable and kind staff! Bunnies, I now know, are considered "exotic animals" and many vets simply don't have the depth of knowledge to properly care for them. The staff and vets at Healthy Pet have extensive knowledge about bunnies and have given my Newton exceptional care. I love bringing him there because the staff remember us, greet us warmly, and are truly happy to see us.We also board there. The facilities are clean, and they give him the fresh vegetables he needs (and wants!). They have an entire room dedicated to rabbits. I always miss him while we are gone but know he is getting exceptional care while we are away.I recommend them to everyone I know looking for good bunny care!

I recently took my pet bunny in for a check up, as a first time bunny owner I was already a little overwhelmed. The staff was amazing. They listened and engaged in conversation. Everything was genuine. They were more than happy to answer all my questions, and teach me a few things on how to help take care of my Luna (bunny). They handled Luna with love and were extremely patient. To have a vet and a staff so eager to share knowledge and compassion and to treat you and your pet as family, I can honestly say this is the best place is Madison to take your pets and small mammals.

The place was clean. Everybody was super friendly to both my dogs and me. The vet and two aides handled my two dogs incredibly skillfully, despite one of my dogs being anxious. Dr. Sue Roberts explained everything and answered several questions with patience and great knowledge. Would totally go back if I weren't moving, but highly recommended. Also a great price compared to many other vets in Madison.

I've been trusting Healthy Pet for over 20 years. I started taking my ferrets there when I moved to Madison and haven't stopped. When I couldn't care for their aging needs, the receptionist at the time took them in and saw them through over the rainbow bridge. Since then, they've been watching my old boy go from puppy to 15 and he's still kicking! I've never felt pressured to complete a procedure and trust their expertise when it comes to the health and wellness of my dogs (and cats, when I had them).

Healthy Pet has been our vet for years. They have cared for our two cats and our two dogs and have provided excellent care and follow up for many years. When our Great Dane recently ingested 6 rags, a sock, and a large canvas place mat, they operated on our big girl at their first opportunity. They provided excellent follow up care and communication as we dealt with all of the after affects of having a giant breed dog undergo major surgery. We always know we will get the best care and compassion from the folks at Healthy Pet, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for veterinary care services. And on top of being great vets, they are also very kind people who treat their customers and their furry family members with nothing but care and respect.

I love this vet clinic! Dr Carla Christman has been my vet for 20 plus years! She goes beyond the call of duty and has giving me so much of her personal time helping me out and comforting me is times of sorrow of the loss of my dogs Guppy & Cooper. I have been taking my two cats to Healthy Pet Vet Clinic since 2008 and plan to continue. Their dedicated staff are friendly and always show concern when treating my pets whether its a regular check-up or for something more serious.The newer location on East Washington Avenue is easy to get to and offers more exam rooms and space in the waiting area. They also offer boarding for small animals (rabbits, ferrets, etc) and cats which is a great bonus. I have housed my cats here once or twice due to travel and always feel more at ease knowing they are in good care.

With three guinea pigs I have used healthy pet for boarding, small medical issues, and more major surgery. I've seen several of the doctors and every experience has been wonderful. Scheduling is a breeze, appointments are quick but thorough, and follow up has made me feel very at ease. People generally don't understand my attachment to my guinea pigs but at Healthy Pet I feel like I've found "my people"! 😃
