I bought 3 rats from them, then 1 week later added a 4th.Kept in contact with the store if I was going to keep all 4 or only keep 2 and they were accepting whatever I chose.After having the 4 rats for like 1.5 weeks, I had a very hard time deciding what 2 to keep.I ended up only keeping 2 rats and returning the other 2, no fault of their own.These are the 2 I ended up keeping.

We were there for my grandson's birthday party. It was held in a separate room that was nicely decorated. Part of the total experience was a guided tour of the pet store. The tour included opportunities the spend time with and handling a number of different animals including snakes, geckos and kittens.

A very nice pet store with a good selection of items on a broad level. They are located on the west side of East Towne mall in Madison. They do not sell feeder rats, as others have suggested, only mice. As a result, one of their very attentive sales personnel recommended Reptile Rapture, a reptile focused store just a few miles away. If you have more large reptile focused needs, I recommend you contact them as well.

Terrible experience here. Bought an African house snake a couple months ago. Unfortunately I didn’t see the small spot under her lip until after I got home. While I hoped it was a scab, of course it ended up being mouth rot. I’ve now spent hundreds in vet bills for exams, X-rays and meds, and it’s been a very slow going process of healing for her. The vet said it was likely a long period of improper care for her that caused it. She was in a tiny crested gecko sized enclosure and was colder to the touch when I initially went to see her at the store. I sadly should have known then. It’s been a very expensive process to get the snake better and she still has a long way to go. Do yourself a favor and if you want a reptile, shop at reptile rapture where the animals are healthy and taken care of. This poor thing is going through hell and has been suffering for god knows how long.

This used to be the cools Pet store in Madison. Fish Dept. Only 1\2 the fish, no saltwater fish. Dog wash used to be the best in the City. Sucks now. Pets and Birds the same. I'm sorry to say this 😔 I miss the old store.

I went in to peek around for different things for my reptiles. I didn't venture much beyond that. So unfortunately, I wasn't impressed. There really isn't too much in stock for basks, hides, or decor. I couldn't find a sales associate to guide me to find any worms or pinkies for my beardie, snake & tegu. Probably won't return, even though it's located in a great spot.

A unique place to go and shop for your pet or to adopt a new pet. The large store has a variety of items for every pet from dogs and cats to fish and rabbits.They even have feeder fish, mice and rats.The employees were great to talk to and answered my questions.They had two dogs up from Texas for adoption. And some owner surrender reptiles and rodents.Tanks and cages seem clean and well taken care of. They also have a small koi pond in the store and it's cool to see them!

Animart is a nice pet store with a small business feel. A bit pricey, but good selection. I love that they have surrendered pets for rehoming as well.

I've gone to Animart over the past 15ish years to bathe dogs. 15 years ago, it was an excellent facility now it's really not.I was hoping the last time I went and there were no towels/ grooming tools and little shampoo that it was a fluke. It apparently was not.Today I went to bath my 2 labs Nova and Birdie and again, no towels, no grooming/bathing items, a shower nozzle that drenched me ( but not the dogs) and a blower that was..well, I could have produced more wind to dry my dogs than this excuse of a dryer. It pains me a bit to write this as I hate to complain but this was a waste of money and time. Unless they make significant repairs and guarantee simple maintenance of the facility, don't waste your time.

Went into Animart today to get Indies nail trimmed. We got her from Animart 2 years ago. She was just a. Puppy. She has had her nails trimmed there for awhile. 2 young girls behind counter and told them Indie needed her nails trimmed. So Diana came and another young man. Indie is terrified of guys. I told him that and it scared her. Everytime we have gone in there for trim they let me go in and hold her and she does good. He said they do not let the owner go back and said she was too aggressive and would not do them. I spend a lot in there. I will never step in that store again. She weighs 8 lbs. Animart has really gone to hell. I would say Thanks but not to Animart. Thought they cared about animals but obviously they dont

Store was dirty animal cages were dirty 4 dogs in kennels that were way over priced. 2 rescue cats they wanted 400$ for stay away from animart

I recently adopted a female Syrian hamster and a male Chinese dwarf hamster from Animart and they are both perfect! The service I received was wonderful, especially Jennah and two other workers, all of them being attentive and friendly to me! They provided me with correct information on hamsters and overall did an amazing job! Thank you Animart!!

Have gotten some great fish from here! Love the selection, the care taken is fantastic. The birds we have adopted are phenomenal pets! We will keep coming back

Dogs pen in the middle needs to be cleaned more. It's always full of poop and stinky. Some of the fish also look like they could use some help healthwise. Otherwise, good products just watch their pricing. Tends to be higher than other stores.

Great pet store that sells everything you could ever need for a pet. They also have puppies!!!! I stopped by for some crickets to feed my gecko and was pleasantly surprised to see these guys!

A few months ago, this store had an AMAZING betta care sheet that included everything that they needed to thrive.Unfortunately, that sign has been replaced with a less-than-great sign that leaves out a few things in order for them to lead a happy life. Surviving is NOT thriving, and bettas deserve so much better lives than what they’re given. Bring back the old sign!Aside from that however, this place is one of the better pet stores in the area for aquatic animals animals.

I contacted them via their website about an issue during a visit that I had, but they haven’t responded. We were there a few days ago around 12:30 pm and noticed that none of the dogs had water in their bowls. The bigger dog was whimpering and attempting to pull an empty water bowl underneath the pen bars. When I told 3 different employees to get them water, I was met with a somewhat indifferent and blank expression. Before I left, and before they were given water I observed a puppy licking a sparkling clean but empty water bowl. Maybe the employees didn’t want to clean up any puppy pee, so they thought no water was the answer? They did have litter boxes set up in the pens, but there were not enough litter pellet to actually soak up any urine. Maybe trying to save a buck? Maybe lack of training? Very disturbing that this pet store seems to put profit over puppy health. Again, I’m only posting because they didn’t call to address my concerns offline.

Adopted my kitten Skittles from here. The people were extremely friendly, the adoption process was quick and painless. And the kitten is a handful. Will definitely be coming back here.

This is our favorite pet store in town. They've got a super broad selection of those specialty and prescription pet foods, which you don't think about until you need them. Lots of cats, dogs, reptiles, small mammals, fish and more. I do wish they would work with shelters on the puppies instead of breeders, but I think it's nice that they have an accessible venue for consumers who are going the other way anyhow. The staff is always super friendly and helpful, and the rewards system is nice (us himans like rewards too!)

I came here in need of a small or extra small muzzle for our dog which we had just moved into a new complex. New noises means lots of barking, and the neighbors weren’t too fond of that. At any rate, this store was nearly completely depleted of muzzles for all sizes! Only a few large and extra large sizes remained so unfortunately I had to look elsewhere. Shame, it does seem like a very nice store with cheerful employees!

Pet store was clean, well stocked and organized. Prices were competitive. The highest ratings go to the vet department. We have two dogs and the Animart Vet clinic has taken great care of them since they were puppies. The Vet staff is very helpful, professional and our dogs have benefited greatly from Animart's care. They definitely are our "go to" Vet in Madison.

The customer service here is so sweet!! This is where I adopted my four year-old female tabby named Lily. Along with having every pet supply we needed, there are many complimentary experiences among entering the store: a cute puppy/dog pen, many kinds of birds, free popcorn, & sample treat plates for your pet :)

We like Animart because the employees are knowledgeable very friendly & kind to the animals which is reflected in the animals demeanor.We have bought salt water fish, bunnies, hamsters, guinea pigs birds & LOTS OF SUPPLIES FOR all of our animals. My daughter would go here every day if she could & she would love to adopt a different animal every time for our home "ZOO".
