We love Hartjes! We have a seasonal spot near LaValle and we can get everything we need for our camping trips at Hartjes. They have a great selection of clothes, shoes, swim gear, camping items, tools, stuff for the yard, and groceries. Last weekend we explored the cabin shop above Hartjes and there were so many great vintage finds! The prices on so many of the items were amazing! It’s such a hidden treasure.

Wild place! Classic hardware grocery combo, general store. However, what really makes it special is the upstairs with hundreds of vintage items and handcrafted goods! Amazing antiques at reasonable prices. Worth a short drive from the Dells area.

I have enjoyed The Cabin Shop for many years and have found some of my favorite old treasures there. I stopped today and saw a sign saying they have a new look. It is organized and charming as always, but I have to say I was disappointed that I could only find two or three vintage/antique items. The Cabin Shop still earns my five stars because I realize it's just a personal preference of mine to shop for vintage/antique over wooden signs with quotes on them, new furniture and such.

What happened to The Cabin Store? Used to have great vintage/antiques.....now it's used furniture and home decor. Uck. Change in ownership? Not worth the trip up the steps.

This review is for The Cabin Shop, located inside and a part of Hartjes. I have stopped a couple times prior when vising family in the area. I will not be returning due to not only some of the crazy business practices (Halloween decorations too Satanic, really!?), but also due to the general mistreatment of others. I very much worry how minorities, or anyone with differing opinions or beliefs, might be treated while either visiting or doing business with this establishment. It is disappointing, in this day and age, that a business displays such insularity and intolerance. I recommend others steer clear of this establishment, as I will be doing.
